i hate kean as a manager but i cant blame him for tonight. modeste is woeful and could have scored 4.

You've just contradicted yourself here - tell me, who signed Modeste?

To be fair, thought he played well, but the only way is down now I'm afraid.

Team was set up alright from the start. We simply didn't take our chances. A lot of people where calling for Rochina here. He's got a good left wand but didn't deliver tonight. Our squad is just too weak, I won't put all the blame on Kean for that.

Did we have a glaring midfield problem tonight? Can you honestly say we didn't dominate the game from start to finish? Dunn, normally a good penalty taker, misses a pen. Dann sticks his leg out and the ball deflects into the back of the net after a soft pass in no-mans land. Dominating possession. Creating chances.

It's frustrating, but come on. We deserved something from this game.

petrovic allowed them to counter too many times and his passing was awful and thats supposed to be his strength I personally dont think him and nzonzi can play together, and also we didnt dominate posession we were just playing the long ball and by passing midfield looking for a second ball or luck.

So yes honestly we didnt dominate the game we had few clear cut chances and they were all fluffed (so know if you dont take your chances you dont deserve to win.)

And I really dont like dann as a defender or player abilty wise he just doesnt seem to have any, Givet had to do the work of 2 men same with nzonzi in midfield - this shouldnt be happeening.

It's the 10 seconds of play before the shot that is appalling.[/font]

I'd let him shoot from that range all day. It was a sloppy pass and a bit of miscommunication but at the end of the day it's a speculative shot from 30+ yards out. "Take a shot, son" is what I'd say. 9 times out of 10 he's not scoring.

Mass exodus and not a single boo after the the second went in. People have now given up. There is no fight left. Just acceptance that we are a poor shower of a team, with nothing but bad luck, bad technique and excuses.

Kean was, quote, "happy" with the transfer window. I wasn't. But I have even less faith that he could organise a good team if we'd signed Piqué and Messi.

Mediocre first half whilst Dunn could still breathe but too narrow and lacking movement in the second. Just what does he say to them at half time??

The damage was done in the first half of the season though and we are not going to cause enough "upsets" to turn it around.

Honestly can't see me going next season if Kean and/or Venkys are still involved.

Are you serious or what. Rovers battered newcastle tonight. sadly conceeded a daft own goal and conceeded a second when trying to get on level terms.

Is Kean responcible for a player missing a penalty? Kean has a lot to answer for, but not tonight.

For those excusing Kean for yet another home defeat I would like to remind them that in football managers carry the can for results - end of story. I would also remind them that at a normal football club Kean would have been binned long ago.

Kean's to blame for tonight - no one else.

The second goal happens in every game when one team is throwing everything forward for an equalizer. Not going to criticise that one.

The first was just a RIDICULOUS amount of luck for Newcastle. It was going wide before Dann stuck his foot out.

I think they had two shots on target all night and scored two goals - only of of those shots on target went in. That's football for you and why it's so ######.

We absolutely stuffed Newcastle tonight. Should have been a comfortable 3-0 on the balance of play. Sadly when your luck is out it's out.

Isn't that exactly what happened with us in the Liverpool game?

We were battered for the entire game, got a lucky own goal, and our goal lived an incredibly charmed life.

Luck evens itself out. We've had more than our fair share this season, this was one of the bad days. When we beat Man Utd they had 26 shots at us.

Funny how luck isn't to blame when it's the other way round...

Basically the lack of investment cost us tonight, we had a freebie striker upfront and it showed, if money had been spent on a proper striker then we would've won the game.

Correct. I do think modeste will come good if he can get his nerve under control.

Did Kean take the penalty tonight? As I mentioned in other posts. Kean responcible for much. But not tonight.

Not sure we watched the same match.

N'Zonzi has bigger defensive duties than Petrovic does. I thought this was the big Serb's best game so far in a Rovers shirt, not been a fan of his up until now. Dann didn't have much to do, neither did Givet. Thought they both did their fair share but Ameobi was always going to be dangerous in the air. Givet's style of defending makes him look more heroic than necessary at times, but I agree he's better than Dann.

With Samba and Yak on the field tonight, as well as a proper right back, and we have a good team. But our squad is weak and we won't always be able to field our best XI.

Far fetched theory of the night:

If Modeste had taken the pen and converted it, it would have given him the confidence boost needed to put at least one more chance away. Ewood jitters :D

I wish people would stop sticking up for Kean, sure there's some games he's done well in and I've always said fair play to him when that happens, but anyone sticking up for him, read this:

WE HAVE NOT KEPT A CLEAN SHEET IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE SINCE APRIL 2011

KEAN HAS NEVER WON TWO GAMES IN A ROW

WE HAVE WON 3 GAMES AT EWOOD PARK THIS SEASON

Everyone know the venkys are the main villains in this sorry tale and they're the ones who put this twerp in charge and he's 'trying his best' blah blah blah, but stop sticking up for him - remember, he's getting paid a lot of money to do a job he isn't capable of doing.

Your missing this point.

Kean couldn't attract them - he told us funds available.

And that he tried for several players with Premiership experience.

Nelsen / Samba / Emerton ?

No-one wants to play for him.

Protests at the matches haven't helped players interested in coming to Rovers.

The players WERE playing tonight.

There is no defence for a manager of a team that loses at home to WBA, Bolton, Newcastle, Everton,Wolves, Chelsea, City and Stoke.

I have given up all hope, we may have had chances, we may have had possession and NUFC may well have been ######. BUT they still scored 2 and we didnt.

I cant even be bothered to slate kean and venkys any more.

The plus side for me is that after this season, no matter what league we are in, I wont be having a season ticket ever again because I will be spending it on a 3rd holiday instead.

Yes I'm serious. I thought we were poor again tonight.

Maybe the stats say we battered them. I know what I saw. Pardew gave Kean a masterclass in defending a 1-0 lead and frustrating the opposition. Drew us right out and killed it at the end on the counter. Cold and merciless. Absolutely PERFECT evening for them. We meanwhile keep on breaking that zero clean sheet record.

I'm going to assume you went to the game tonight, PAFELL. A few sporadic moments of decent passing amongst large periods of dross.

Still, you carry on making excuses for our position and 9 home defeats this season. I don't excuses, I don't want shallow "positives", I don't want stats, I want points.

Protests at the matches haven't helped players interested in coming to Rovers.

You really are on WUMMING form tonight.

I think I'll leave it there before I say something to you that gets me banned.

Did Kean manage the last 40 odd games? Sitting with folk from Fulham in complete shock he is a manager.

Kean is a bad manager. BUT he was not to blame for tonights defeat - he was NOT ON THE PITCH. We are all sore at Rovers losing. All gutted. But Rovers had 25 chances to Newcastle 6. Even had a penalty.

Players fired blanks. Even sky said they cannot believe how Rovers lost tonight. They slag rovers off first chance they get.

A manager is never on the pitch.

However a good manager is able to set his side up to win a game like tonights - or at very least react to what's going on, on the pitch, and the required changes.

And the protests had nothing to do with players not wanting to come here.

A lack of money, jokers running the club and an absolute no-mark sitting in the manager's seat are the real reasons.

Kean hasn't done a good job, that's a given. But after watching a game of football where we are clearly the better side throughout 90 minutes I won't slag him off. We're spending less money now than under the Trust. No money this window, no money in the window prior. Honestly, what do you expect from a rookie manager?

Take it out on Venky's, they're the ones destroying the club.

If Sparky was in charge, he would have made us very hard to beat. Football might not have been great, but we would have got a result.

If Allardyce was in charge, he would have made us very hard to beat. Football might not have been great, but we would have got a result.

Why can Kean not make us hard to beat? Conceding goals is the first thing these guys sort out. It's been going on for months!

Let's flip that, then.

When we do have the rarity of winning, people always say 'gotta give Kean credit'... But by your logic, he shouldn't because he's NOT ON THE PITCH and influencing play. See how retarded this argument is?

Either Kean carries the can for results or he doesn't. Which is it, Pafell?
