Since the Utd game have played the best football we have since the days of Hughes. Dominating possession, territory and shots. Yet we still don’t get the three points.

Contradiction in terms there Joey. We've lost nine out of twelve home games, - not because we've been playing better than we did under Allardyce [and have been what - unlucky?], but because we've been playing far, far worse than we did under him. We rarely looked like losing home games under Sam, now we rarely look like winning them.

Unlucky? Simply not good enough.

Yes we have a squad that could keep us in what is the worst Premier League since it started in 1992. Unfortunately we have the worst manager in the Premier League.

I have been resigned to relegation since September. There is no way we are staying up. Last night was yet again the end of another 'false dawn'. Yes we will win the odd game before the end of the season but there will be no sustained run of wins that will guarantee safety.

Once again Kean was out thought by the opposition manager.

Amen to that KendalRover.

Look how awful the Premier League is this season ...... yet somehow Kean has contrived to keep us in the relegation zone. The problem is Steves only Plan B is to stick 10 men behind the ball when winning 1 nil ...... since that situation never occured, no Plan B implemented and yet another home loss.

After 20 mins it felt like one of those games where we would do everything but score. For the oldies it very much reminded me of losing 0-1 to QPR when we got relegated to the 3rd div for the first time (the game where someone ran on and booted the QPR keeper)

The goal we gave away was ludicrously bad. Givet very unlucky not to equalise straight after. We had a few deflected shots go out of play; their defelected shot went in. The penalty was awful - memories of losing to Forest 2-1 at home last time we went down, but at half time I was still very hopeful as were were giving them the runaround. However, we were totally undone by Pardew's tactical switch and Kean's non-response to it.

Nailed on to go down imo.

I can sense we are going to drift into "does winning games = playing good football" argument here which has been flogged to death. So I'm just going to avoid.

In my view we are playing good football yet not winning games. Yes it is unacceptable. Yes winning games is more important than playing good football, especially in our current predicament. Yes I would like Kean replaced.

But against Everton, Newcastle, Fullham we have played very wel

I find it amazing how people don't seem to be able to view Kean in an objective manner - I understand the reasons, as he is an emotive subject these days.

He was out thought - hmmm ... so we didn't start off well - which to me makes me think tactically Kean got it right to start with - and the vastly more experienced Pardew didnt ?

Second half Pardew did change the system - but it took him a full 45 minutes of watching his team getting out played to come to that conclusion. First 15 or 20 minutes of the second half Newcastle started to dominate midfield - Kean then changed things around (Formica mainly) - and I thought we had the better of the final 25 minutes.

I think we should give Kean (or Black) some credit - as the team was set up well from the start - and overall deserved to win. The substitutions - Formica nearly worked - Rochina unfortunately didn't.

We lost 2-0 at home to a team who looked largely poor, who were shorn of their 3 best players and the manager deserves credit?

Being 'objective' doesn't come into it.

Ok - why did they look poor - surely the standard of our play has to come into this equation. Also lets not forget that we were also missing two of our best players in the Yak and Samba - and also lost the Yaks replacement just prior to the match (and Goodwillie is on a good little goal scoring run himself at the moment).

  • Moderation Lead

I'd rather get dicked 4-0 than lose 2-0 like that.

It's the hope that gets you, I'd have put my house on Dunn scoring that pen.....

Why was Goodwillie not even on the bench?

Felt 2-0 flattered Newcastle, Rovers played well without getting any real clear chances, 2nd goal came when we was pushing for equaliser. However bad window was evident,

Must say tonight I did not enjoy the game, for these reasons,

I thought I would watch the second half with Simon, So sat where simon usally sits, As I approached my seat I got loads of abuse from birdie who was using language I will not repeat. He continued his abuse for a good five minutes with his wife joining in. I chose not to bite, because I go to rovers to watch the team win and support the players. I said to Simon, "How do you manage to sit here each week with this abuse?" Especially as he goes with his young son.

It the died off and we watched the match, At full time Birdie piped up again, with another round of abuse which included him trying to throw punches. I said to him "Birdie we come to football to watch football, there is little point falling out over a difference of opinion, he continued as did his wife, at this point i said to him " Its ok shouting your mouth off, but everyone sold their houses on Nuttall street when the new stadium was built bar you, who held Jack to ransom and took 2 and half times what your house was worth (Common Knowledge) When you are mouthing off, just remember you are here on Jacks cash. He continued to be aggressive and I never left where I was sat, at this point Glenn P came over and tried to defuse the situation. I left my seat and headed to the concourse where Birdie continued to try and throw punches and continued with his abuse, this continued outside the ground, until and number of supporters dragged him away and told him he was a discrace.

This behavour was disturbing. Many people have critisised protest, but it was once again a non protester who was being aggressive and trying ton cause issues. Throughout these protest despite the grief, I have had to keep my calm and take abuse on the chin, and even tonight I have took it on the chin, but that sort of supporter is a discrace, not only did he hold Jack to ransom, but he has the nerve to slag the everyday supporter off, for caring.

Why did you not go and sit back in your own seat? You would have avoided all the abuse as well as saving yourself from embarrassment at the comments made about Birdys sale of his house. It would seem that you wanted to inflame the situation rather than walk away. That said, if he clouted you then you must go to the cops. I guess it's all on CCTV?

Because he's an attention seeking clown and now he's snivelling on here for sympathy

Go to the papers with your story, you like having your name printed don't you :rover:

Totally agree

I think you're both right.

In fact, I heard that Glen was instrumental in getting Venkys to purchase the club just so he could make himself famous.

I'm sure Glen doesn't expect thanks for what he does but the abuse he gets is ridiculous.

He may not be perfect, and he may have made some mistakes along the way, but he definitely has the best interests of the club at heart and is prepared to do something about it. Again, it probably wasn't the wisest things he's done and would probably think he could have handled it differently, but I'm not surprised he snapped back at "Birdy" given the pressure he feels under.

For those excusing Kean for yet another home defeat I would like to remind them that in football managers carry the can for results - end of story. I would also remind them that at a normal football club Kean would have been binned long ago.

Kean's to blame for tonight - no one else.

Thank the lord!!

i felt like i was having my own 1 man protest shouting at him last night!! Even my old man just sighed. Just how long is it going to take the rest that can be bothered to turn up to see this ??

I swear people watch different games to me.

Petrovic and N'Zonzi work well together. Suddenly we have a pair that can tackle, run and pass. That's made a world of difference, evidenced by the results we have picked up. They're not exceptional, but they're Prem standard, which is a huge upgrade to what we were throwing out there (like Pedersen in the middle - the master of banging the ball aimlessly into the channels).

Yakubu would have scored a hatful today. Modeste has all the attributes you look for in a lone striker, he just isn't a very composed finisher. That's why he was on loan. We still created more than enough chances to win the game.

At last some sanity.

Rovers played well and were incredibly unlucky. We have enough to be ok. Lets just stop panicking and see how it develops. We are still in the mix, keep your chins up.

Yes I'm serious. I thought we were poor again tonight.

Maybe the stats say we battered them. I know what I saw. Pardew gave Kean a masterclass in defending a 1-0 lead and frustrating the opposition. Drew us right out and killed it at the end on the counter. Cold and merciless. Absolutely PERFECT evening for them. We meanwhile keep on breaking that zero clean sheet record.

I'm going to assume you went to the game tonight, PAFELL. A few sporadic moments of decent passing amongst large periods of dross.

Still, you carry on making excuses for our position and 9 home defeats this season. I don't want excuses, I don't want shallow "positives", I don't want stats, I want points.

Here here!! I thought it was just me and my dad that thought that. Fair enough we were unlucky at points but that means jack all!

I thought tonight we were more direct than under sam! it was route one and direct beyond belief!

I have no sympathy for Kean's choice to play Dann in the last two games. Kean has been using the excuse of 'not having a settled back 4' all season, then just when it looks like we're getting better he takes out our best performing player (Hanley) and picks Dann who looks terrible. How many hospital balls or long punts upfield did he make?
