Clitherover Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Does this mean they'll both have to have their full names on the back of their shirts? Usually they'd just initialise it but they are both 'M.Olsson' Good point. I'd guess they'd use their first names Marcus and Martin like they do with Simon Vuckevic.
McClarky Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 If Martin ever gets sent off we could sneak him back on in Marcus's place. No-one would notice would they?
MarkBRFC Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I'm guessing there was a reason we only signed one of the brothers a few years ago when both were on trial. Hopefully Marcus has gone away and improved, although i doubt he will feature this season anyway.

Didn't want him when we had a decent manager in charge and now he's here, he won't play anyway.
andyrover Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Great move ,If Martin as a stormer this season and man utd bid millions we can accept the bid and send Marcus ,welcome to rover Marcus
philip369 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Just watched our manager saying how good he thought he would be. Scratched his neck red raw while his mouth was flapping. Researched what that meant. Depressing!
blueboy3333 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 This from The Guardian's live transfer blog:- Steve Kean has revealed his thinking behind the signing of Martin Olsson's brother Marcus. "They've got the same style, which you can imagine being identical twins," said the Blackburn manager. "[Marcus] plays higher but on the same side [as Martin] and that will prove difficult for any right-back when he sees one going outside and one driving." Is that any right-back standing outside the Olsson family home?[/b] I think they are mocking Kean. How very dare they.
Grez Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Heard on radio lancashire that Steve KEAN said Marcus was the third olsson twin! I want to see the clip of that... Best keanism so far if true
B75 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 How hard will it be to mark them both at corners! Kean is a genius
DanielMB Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Think if Martin Olsson gets an injury just before halftime. Just switch them around during halftime and we still have 3 substitutions possible

Hopefully Marcus has gone away and improved, although i doubt he will feature this season anyway. Let's hope so. It's obvious how much Martin's improved since, say, the 0-1 defeat @ White Hart Lane two or three seasons ago when he was crucified by Aaron Lennon before his early departure from that game. Who's to say that Marcus hasn't similarly improved since we chose not to sign him?
cn174 Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Who's to say that Marcus hasn't similarly improved since we chose not to sign him? Playing in the Swedish 2nd division doesn't suggest so. Will be interesting to see if he's anywhere near as good as Martin.

joey_big_nose Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 What's the chances of Kean saying in the presser tomorrow that "I've always been a fan of Marcus, he reminds me a lot of Martin Olsson..."
LeChuck Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 "(Marcus) plays higher but on the same side (as Martin) and that will prove difficult for any right back when he sees one going outside and one driving." Is that really the height of our tactical plan nowadays? Put twins on the same wing, have them run in opposite directions and hope it bamboozles the opposition full back? And we thought Allardyce's tactics were primitive...
cn174 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 joey - I think he's already come out with something similar. Something about that it will confuse the right back when he sees two players that look the same running at him Aye, they'll all be fooled lol
purplegrover Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I'm sorry...Am I missing something here?? You say our star signing for this transfer window is from the Swedish second tier. And he's 23 (i.e. hardly a 'youngster' any more)? Ok yep. That's what I thought you said. Great !! Woo-Hoo !! Zippedy Doo Dah ! ! *cough* If there is a plus side, maybe he speaks portuguese - might keep Bruno company. Or maybe he will be the inspired miracle wunderkid signing (late bloomer, mind) that will finally get Steve Kean the ticker tape parade through Blackburn he's been waiting for.
braddock Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Be sure to boo him when he plays. Just make sure you get the right one.
mhead Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Great signing! If we play West Brom we can sing: " You've got Keith Andrews,we have the Olssons"
nellybc Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Be sure to boo him when he plays. Just make sure you get the right one. yawn yawn yawn does anybody know who made the decision or who was in charge to take martin and not marcus at the original trial ??

Have we signed a late blooming winger? Happy Days. Now on top of Batistuta, Gerrard, Smalling, Irwin we have the next 'Chris Waddle' I'm loving it under Chicken Rule. Hopefully next window we can sign a Late blooming left back as a new 'stuart pearce' would be more than welcome. I can't wait.
booth Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Be sure to boo him when he plays. Just make sure you get the right one. I see that swelling in your pants for all things Desai hasn't subsided. I'd go to the doctors if I were you. Not for the lump, for a brain scan.
