I'm told deal definitely not done yet! #QPR 19 minutes ago According to Sky deal is done. According to people I know who support QPR home and away he was their weakest link in the championship. So lets be honest this is a shocking signing - Lowe will be at right back all season now - I would have put him in midfield and got Sutter in. I'd rather see Lowe make a go of it at right back than waste more money on someone who will prob never play for us.
roversfan99
http://www.qprdot.org/viewtopic.php?t=59236 Looking here, some think he's decent back-up, some want him out.
McClarky
This could be an ok signing. A proper full back is something we have been after for ages and better to get someone who is used to the English game than some Brazilian journeyman. I"m sue he"ll do ok. On saying that I have no knowledge of this bloke at all so if he is rubbish I"ll be amongst the first to blameKean, Anderson and/or Venkys. Positives: He's actually a rb He's played at a reasonable level, full championship season There is at least some rb cover now giving the squad more flexibility He's not exactly going to break the bank
joey_big_nose
Welcome to the club Mr Orr. You might want to ask Mr Andrews for a few coping strategies on his way out the door. Because i do believe you're about to take his title as 'Club Fall Guy'. You don't stand a chance mate. Its over before it has even started. And you can blame Steve Kean and Venky's for ruining what is left of your career. Yup.When he plays he is going to need to have an absolute blinder or the knives are out. roverandout
honestly gave up on this window after the first week, knew we would sign dross and so we have in our two signings so far, we are heading for the championship and for defeat tommorow!!! malk
Good luck to him. Haven't seen him play much so can't comment there. I'm not a big fan of bringing in squad players when we have good youngsters to come in but given our lack of depth at right back a solid cheap option isn't the worst thing in the world. LeChuck
For once i feel sorry for kean! Nah. If Venky's have backed away after realising what they have gotten themselves into then Kean is as much to blame as anyone. He was happy for them to believe that £5 million per season could have us challenging for Champions League places - he even went as far as to repeat the stupidity in interviews. No other self respecting manager would have had to lie so shamelessly to get a job. No other manager would have gone along with the farce. No wonder Venky's liked his 'positivity', shame it wasn't real. If Kean now has to live with disillusioned and withdrawn owners then he can't complain, he helped make them that way. only2garners
I can't comment on Orr's recent form but I did see him playing a few times for Bristol City a few years ago and he looked a competent right back in what was then a decent Championship side. No, I don't pity him at all. It's the fans being screwed over left, right and centre. Totally hear, hear! With his lack of experience, he should never have been given the job of managing a successful Premier League club. However, which of us, if we were in the same position to inherit such a job wouldn't jump at the chance? I know I wouldn't; I'd have a bash at it until my inexperience was shown up! [Mind you; unlike Baldrick, when the Cheshire constabulary found me with too much alcohol in my blood, I realised that I had no excuse. ]
