[Archived] Fit Ready and Unable To Play

According to Kean, Samba is not refusing to play nor is he feigning injury and it is his (Kean's) decision not to include him in the squad despite Samba being fit and available to play.

Were his lips moving when he said that? If so then we all know by now that it's just another lie.

Not all football. Last week I enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining game at Accrington between Stanley and Gillingham. The quality of the football was good, the banter amongst supporters was great and two sets of players gave everything for 90 minutes without an ego in sight.

Yes, fair point. Perhaps 'Premier League football' would have been more accurate.

Just guessing here, but...

- Samba said he had a teleconference with the owners, who told him he was not allowed to leave. Maybe Kean would have been happy for him to go and spend the money elsewhere

- Kean picks the team. Regardless of whatever else you say about Rovers this season, team spirit on the pitch has remained consistently high. Perhaps Kean doesn't think it's worth risking that when we have other good centre backs

Whatever the reason it's a shambles, I'm just trying to put the pieces together to possibly explain why there seems to be this conflict between keeping vs. not playing Samba.

Whatever the reason for the guys absence it is a total disgrace. Samba is by far our best defender if he is sulking he is being unprofessional taking home 60K per week and not helping his team mates is a disgrace. The fact he was not sold in Jan he needs to play he is by far our only chance of keeping a clean sheet. Otherwise if this was going to be the case we should just have got shot in Jan. Also we do have other good defenders but Dann is not one of them too error prone is no way a leader and needs a break against the barcodes he was by far the worst player out there and you knew after the own goal it was going to be downhill from then onwards.
