[Archived] Samba Up to His Old Tricks Again

Well done to Big Chris Samba he has my sympathy.

For him to have to watch and work for a set of shysters who only seek to profit from him dont blame him one bit to throw the toys out of the pram and expose the desperate Stephen Kean and his associates.

He's a professional athlete on silly wages. He should play and honour that contract. Other clubs aren't willing to pay our asking price, and who on here can say that we are over valuing him? Not me...

He, like fans, can be upset at the way things are being conducted right now. But it's his job, the fans however are not. Fans are paying customers who can choose not to support the club financially when the club continues to ignore our pleas and (best) wishes for the club.

If he indeed has come out and said that he is available for selection then I can't say I understand behind the logic not to play him. Anyone have a link to those comments btw?

From my point of view its as simple as this.

If Kean the clown picks him in the squad and Samba doesnt want to play then he is in direct breach of his contract if he isnt injured as he has to make himself available to play.

If he doesnt then fine him 2 weeks wages, issue a written warning that his conduct is not to be tolerated both to him and his agent. For the next game, a reserve or friendly, do the same, pick him, fine him and then sack him for breach of contract.

That serves 2 things. Samba is in breach of his contract so he doesnt get paid and gets the sack. In turn Rovers dont have to pay him. Rovers also get to keep his playing registration and so Samba cannot register for another club UNLESS the potential buying club, in a transfer window, pays the required fee for his registration.

The player cannot have his cake and eat it and its about time a club showed its own ###### and stood up to be counted against the so called poweer in their hands players.

Any player with an ounce of professional pride would not have done what Samba has done.

I agree 1864. Samba is acting like a spoiled brat.....the tosser Samba wants a massive kick up the

@rse. No sympathy from me.

Good to see people agreeing that Samba needs to sort his head out and stop being a spoiled brat.....Yes he may have been told he would get his move, but im sorry £6m offers from QPR are ALWAYS going to be rejected, offer us sensible money and he may have gone. Why should we sell him on the cheap? He signed the contract.....on promises?? Ha ha so nothing to do with a HUGE payrise? Yeah ok!

Parson - Understand your post totally, yes its different, yes they are making a huge mess.....BUT its still our club, our town team. They will go before us! They close us down, we start back up! They will never kill us off!

Samba's value, as with any other player, is what the market will pay.

Venky's will never, ever see £15m for Samba.

I can't see any club paying more than £7 or £8m for Samba irrespective of what Rovers want.

It's as simple as that.

Pafell makes an interesting point if he does not get his nut down and play for us no other club will take a punt on him if he continues to sulk as they would think he would do it there when things are not going well I also think Samba should take a leaf out of Modric's book when he did not get his transfer to Chelsea he got his nut down and played for the shirt Samba needs to realise you don't always get what we want and he needs like Modric to get his head down work hard till the summer Topman makes a very good point as well he should be fined for breach of contract if he continues to refuses to play.

To sell to QPR for 6.5M would have been an unmitigated disaster.

But its interesting that Venkys are prepared to pay Samba 60000 a week for doing nothing but won't spend to improve the squad.

It's the cheaper option. They probably thought that by having Samba in the team, we would stand a decent chance of staying in the league. Paying him £3million a week, was cheaper than splashing out millions of pounds (which they promised they would when they bought the club) on players and paying them big wages on top. Whatever is the cheaper option is what these people go for.

The point is, Chris, we all know that he's allegedly been made broken promises. His reaction should have been to continue plying his trade on the pitch and quietly allowing his move to happen off the pitch. That would've been the professional way to do it. Nelsen did it. Roberts did it. Andrews (for the most part) did it.

If any of his refusing to play is true then I can't help but think about it like this. I am pretty hacked off at him, actually. No need to deal with a rubbish situation by rubbing salt into the wound for everyone else to suffer.

I can't deny there are arguments both ways, I just want Venkys and Kean to be exposed and gone, samba is just another example of what a joke these morons are.

In the Times today:

Blackburn Rovers are looking to reconcile with wantaway defender Christopher Samba, according to reports.

The Times claim the club are holding talks with the 27-year-old, who has been training with the reserves after he handed in a transfer request last month.

Any movement on such a compromise could hinge on whether Blackburn are willing to offer Samba improved terms on his current contract.

Offer him improved terms – are they having a laugh!

Oh, the life of a modern day footballer. It's a frigging joke!

Just get your arse on to the pitch Samba - changes to your contract should not even be up for discussion, unless it is to reduce your wages. Hopefully this is just lazy journalism.

5 pages based on one article on one website with no attempt to back up the statement with any evidence or quotes?

If there is any evidence of Samba refusing to train then fine he deserves all the stick, but until then I will continue to back him - how many have asked for players to come out and attack the Venkys and when one does he gets lambasted.

Ok so he went about it in the wrong way and was unprofessional in the manner he went public but was he wrong in what he said?

"Blackburn need players who are 100 per cent for the club, and I'm not."

All he said is that he was not 100% behind the club and its owners - not that he would not give 100% if played.

He also stated that he had not considered not going into training.

Kean has stated that it is he who has chosen not to select Samba in recent games even though "he is fit and available".

Come on, let’s keep positive and upbeat, we have Stevie in charge.

Steve Kean claims Scott Dann is a Ronseal defender.

"Scotty does what it says on the tin," said the Blackburn boss. "He heads it, he kicks it and he is a leader, with a willingness to win.

The 'improved terms' might not mean a pay rise but could refer to a release clause.

Spot on.

But if you've read all 5 pages, you would have spotted me saying exactly the same thing - about this time - yesterday. ;)

Heads it AND kicks it, eh? No wonder we signed him. Wonder if Kean did the scouting himself.

Sorry John, you're bang on, in Steve we trust!

I've seen Scotty head it and kick it...BADLY. His positioning is probably his worst attribute though. Olsson, Orr, Petrovic and Dann were like lost lambs against L'Arse last weekend.

Bless 'em.

Guest Rovers4Good

Spot on, and to be honest any Rovers fans who are 'right behind Samba on this' need to take a bloody good look at themselves. He's nearly as deluded as Kean.

I normally agree with the stuff you post, and I despise Venkys and kean as much as the next person, but this bit can't be right. He gets (allegedly) £60k/£70k a week 'back'. If Rovers are in breach of his contract fair enough, but it doesn't seem that they are. He's no better than Tevez in my eyes, and I cringed with embarrassment at Ewood when the Darwen End were chanting his name after his 'sick note' escapade.

I agree that yes he should just get on with his job and the fact that he's getting paid mega bucks to do something that most of us would love then yeh agreed but you just never know what's going on behind then scenes and if the last 12 months are anything to go by then there is something severely wrong and up until now there's only a few players have actually said what a shambles it is.

anyway why the hell didn't Samba ask for a release cause but Jones did?

Jones was very highly paid too and although a future star, samba "the man".

We all believed Venkys but surely everyone had some doubt, the came across pretty thick as s**t from day one.

badly advised by agent, or the money was just too high.

I saw a documentary last night where a wrestler was given £400,000 to remove any release clause from his contract and on a contract of £1.6 million a year.
