Saw the highlights on MOTD. Two good goals by Yakubu and N'Zonzi. But Kean showed his absolute inexperience and awful decision making with his subs and change of formation. The guy is a complete liability and any time we win you get the impression that it's more out of luck than design! We need Samba back and it will be interesting to see how long this 'hamstring' injury lasts for and if he will play next week.

The simple fact of it is we won yesterday despite Steve Kean, not because of him. Temoirarily out of the relegation zone today after WBA did us a huge favour but no real hope on the horizon just more of the same and not a hint of a clean sheet either.

I am not a big fan of Kean - but we got the tactics right in the first half - Hughes got them right in the second half. Strange nobody wonders why the vastly more experienced Hughes with his army of back room staff didn't get it right in the first half - and took until about the 60th minute to start putting us under real pressure (by which time they would have been 4 down, but for the thickness of the paint - unbelievable effort by the Yak btw).

Also - I love the way so many people are so self righteous about his substitutions (hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it) - when at Sunderland he was too defensive - now he is being too attacking - who would be a manager. I thought bringing another forward on was the right idea - strangely the same decision made by the Newcastle manager which led to their second goal when they beat us at Ewood. I think Formica had a fairly good game - but for all those who wouldn't have taken him off - who would you have taken off ? as it was obvious we needed to change things.

I didnt see the game, but I can understand the reason to bring on Modeste. Playing against Newcastle I though he was superb at holding the ball up and brining others into play. This sub could've really paid of and we could still apply pressure to QPR. It didnt though, but we won.

The big issue was Hoilett. Had he not 'been injured' and am not really sure what was going on there, then maybe Kean would not have needed to have changed tactics. What seemed to occur was that the team, bereft of confidence, started to sit back as is a natural want! Once we sat back, we handed th initiative to QPR. They took the initiative well and scored at an important moment. Both goals by mackie were taken and developed well but could have been avoided. I dont see that it is necessarily the fault of Kean, just a factor from our recent past and history of allowing teams to take the intiative. I thought Dann was manning up yesterday, Orr had a good game apart from his mistake that lead to the first goal. Had he cleared the ball as he intended, then the result would have been easier to achieve.

Who knew it was going to finish 3-2 when we got to half-time?

Kean is such a piggin' shambles. He couldn't organize a gay pride parade in San Francisco.

To be honest, I wasn't at all confident at 3-0 and knew that if QPR got a goal back we'd be in for a stressfull second half.

I dont think he did make a "concerted effort" to make us lose the match. Qpr just played better and were relentless and were the better team in the scond half - thats football it happens.

I didnt think his decisions were the main reasons for Qpr's second half, It was qpr's approach to the second.

The point people are trying to make is that once again Keam was out thought by the opposition manager in the second half. Hughes made changes at half time and QPR where a lot better. Kean responded by making changes which made Rovers worse. So the simple fact is the decisions of the managers had a direct impact on the way the second half went.

Yes it was good we finally managed to beat a rival at home (especially after the Bolton and WBA disasters) but the bottom line is there was nothing in the overall performance that indicated we have turned the corner and Kean knows what he is doing.

The WBA result means that relagation is now between QPR, Rovers, Wolves, Bolton and Wigan.

I would of taken off Peders and brought on Simon but thats just me.

And me.

Who knew it was going to finish 3-2 when we got to half-time?

I thought we might lose 4-3

MOTD stats gave Rovers - QPR possession 40-60%; shots on target 5-13 and shots off target 5-12.

AND WE WERE THE HOME SIDE!!!!! Against fellow strugglers.

Then people wonder why we left the ground in gloom.

I know Nzonzi was given MOM but he was guilty of giving the ball away in midfield several times. In fact his goal came about from him passing to the opposition on the halfway line, not trying to get back while they attacked thereby being well forward to collect the clearance and send Junior away. However, his goal was a sweet strike.

Orr impressed, MGP was crap and my MOM, Formica, was first to be subbed by the numpty.

However.........3 good points!rover.gif

I don't think you understand why people are angry.

It's not because we won. it's not because we got 3 desperately needed points. It's not because QPR fought back in the second half.

The reason people are angry is because our manager made a concerted effort to get us to lose the match. He made horrific substitutions, ruined the shape of the team and very nearly cost us all three points again - and I emphasise again because he's been doing it all season.

People are angry because the bald cretin doesn't learn from his mistakes. He does it over and over again. We know he'll do it again in future matches and we know next time we probably won't have a three goal cushion to ensure we don't drop points.

Even the players were remonstrating with the imposter yesterday - not that it did any good.

If you are able to look beyond the "we won, yaayyyyyy!!!!" viewpoint there's plenty of reasons to be very concerned and far from pleased at what happened yesterday.

The game very closely replicated the Wolves away game last season-----3-0 up at half-time and clung on for a 3-2. It happens too often for it to be coincidence. We concede late goals more than any other club. To my mind the reason is that Kean believes a real manager should tinker with the side after the hour mark. And since he's only impersonating a real manager that's what he does. he hasn't cottoned on to the idea that other managers do it when they've seen a weakness that they can improve.

The best thing to come out of this weekend is that there may actually be three worse teams in the division - Bolton, Wigan and Wolves. We're terrible, but somehow these teams can be worse. I dont think we'll stay up but we stand a chance given how poorly those teams are playing. Given that we're finally winning a few home games and the Yak is back, you never know.

Its frightening to think that we're the 6th highest scoring team in the division. If only we could keep a couple of clean sheets and we'd be nowhere near the bottom.

Sorry to ruin people's sunday but according to the link below Samba has no hamstring injury

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-Chris-Samba-will-not-be-offered-new-deal-to-stay-article864576.html

so it seems samba could have played yesterday but chose not to I was searching twitter this morning and the views of Wayne Wild sum up how I feel about Samba and what is wrong with players today he wrote:

If....if... Samba isn't injured then he should be hugely ashamed of himself. £60k per wk and refusing to play is a disgrace. No sympathy. &

I'm not wearing this won't play for the manager/owner nonsense. Fans still PAID up front season tickets. All players owe the club to play !!

From Mr Wayne Wild's twitter it just sums up what is wrong about football players today and he should be ashamed he was not out yesterday helping his team mates out who knows when we were 3-0 up with his presence and leadership skills we might have got a clean sheet I hope now after all the problems that have gone on with the club that by some luck Wayne gets the go ahead & takes over with his other backers as I feel with him at the helm he would not take any of Samba's BS mysterious injury nonesense and fully accept that article no way should we give him any more money as he is now taking the proverbial mick.

There were some positive things yesterday.

1. I noticed that before kickoff all our 11 players gathered up in a huddle and robbo gave his little pep talk. That almost gave me tears in my eyes, they showed they are all in it together and that they will keep fighting and as a team ( and fu samba, the player group doesn't need egos like u)

2. Yaks back.

3. Formica has yet again shown how crucial he is to this team. His offensive and defensive work rate is great. Will be very important to keep him happy and avoid him going to any abroad team who still have a window open.

4. Love to have Lowe midfield and orr did a decent job as rb. Think we may have sorted out our def midfield

Problem.

Overall the game wasnt great. We got some goals but I saw

Many passing mistakes and ball losses during the first half that should not happen. If we were up against a better team they would probably have scored on one of those mistakes.

Didn't understand the Formica sub. Unless he was very tired or injured I don't see why he was taken off.

But to be fair to kean I think any sub he would have made at that point fans would Hang him for it. If he for instance had taken off yakubu and put another midfielder on people would have blamed him for being way too defensively and inviting qpr back in the game. Nzonzi or Lowe out for petrovic would not have been popular and on our defense we don't really have many options.

Think the only sub the fans would not be angry at would have been Pedersen out for vuckevic. Dunno why vuckevic doesn't get a chance, but I guess he isn't good enough.

We have to manage without Lowe in the next 2 games but it's good he got his 10th now because we will probably lose vs city anyway and he's ready vs wolves again

Which begs the question: Did he NEED to make a sub? Making changes for the sake of change isn't good management.

Yup, and we all know how flawless Kean's selection policy is.

For goodness sake. We batter Newcastle and lose, and it's Kean's fault and this game is all about results. We beat QPR and the performance is in various ways unimpressive, and people still complain. If you expect balance, consistency and intelligence from the manager, try to exhibit it yourselves. I'm no Kean fan by any stretch, but right now we need results and we got one. I'm happy with that.

Agree with Lowe but disagree entirely about Orr. He looked like a disaster waiting to happen for the whole match (I posted during the first half that he looked worrying).

He's a decent tackler, fairly quick and not bad in the air, but his distribution is appalling. He has no composure, so either thumps the ball to the opposition or just makes a hash of it like for QPRs goal. If he doesn't make that woeful mistake then I don't think QPR get the spirit and belief to put us under that much pressure...another five minutes of holding out and they probably start seeing the game as being lost.

You mean Kean has been telling lies again. I don't beleive you...

I've said it before, if he gets an awkward question he just lies. Otherwise he looks a cokk. By lying all that happens is he is proved a liar later when the press have forgotton his answer...but we haven't.

Has he said why he brought Henley on yet? He can't possibly give a good reason for that

Dunno why vuckevic doesn't get a chance,

I actually know a fan who sat down with kean and asked him about this - why do you start Dunn or pedersen ahead of Vukcevic? Unfortunately she's been out of the country ever since and I haven't yet heard what his answer was - if it's printable I'll let you know.
