Silencio Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Nice article here about our promotion. Loved watching the team under Souness (before he lost the plot). http://thetwounfortunates.com/great-football-league-teams-29-blackburn-rovers-2000-1/

Mattyblue Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Aye, I read that the other day, we really did have a fantstic side for that division. Took in most away games and we handed out some real thrashings along the way. Friedel, Berg, Short, Bjornebie, Curtis, Duff, Dunn, Berkovic, Flitcroft, Jansen, Bent or that shower we have playing for us today?
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Ditto, that season was my record for away game attendance, and almost every one was fantastic. Beating local rivals left, right and centre. The 2-0 away at Birmingham at a packed St Andrews in a midweek game will live long in the memory too. I loved Souness, real passion and had a lot of time for the fans.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I'll never forget that night at Deepdale,Jansen heading the winner and Souness dancing with the fans. Some wonderful football and attendances...27,000 v Huddersfield midweek!
trueblueroversiloveu Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Loved 2001 i'm only 24 so was 13 and had been supporting rovers for a while. Some of my best memories of the club came in that season. Deepdale was unreal matty jansen then them hitting post. The players playing with real pride, a cracking young team from our academy. The players and fans relationship was just class and you don't get it in the premier league. I'll always remeber matty jansen banging the drum from the blackburn end drumming his own song!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Yes your right matty just checked again..27,000 v Sheff Utd! A team and manager who had the Town well and truly buzzing.
roverandout Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 best moment for me was being at the reebok, in the freezing cold, watching us hammer bolton 4-1, worst moment watching sean davis score the winner for fulham at ewood!!
