Comment from Burnley end:

''Sadly more than seats smashed last night too with extensive damage to the toilets, just downright shameful and I stand by my comment that it would have been better against Newcastle because then it would have all been about the football.''

Love the age old tradition of this fixture but hate the shyte that drags it down...the same idiots on both sides never cease to amaze in the same old boring and predictable fashion. You can be passionte about your team without the violence.

Amen to that - why oh why do some people still want to live in the 70's?

Well since I can't find the EPPP thread this can go in here. Several league clubs I'm lead to believe have now decided to do away with their youth systems due to costs. Well done premier league, less competition for you now, enjoy.

and to this - shame on the football league though for selling it's soul for a few pieces of silver.

In fairness are you suggesting there aren't a few pubs around Ewood you would suggest I avoid as a Burnley fan? Hell I won't even go in the Princess Royal, Turf or Forresters because of the Neanderthals who 'reside' there. Some of the comments on that thread bring a smile to my face though, most of the people making them would probably empty their bowel if confronted in any way shape or form.

If people do want a pre match recommendation then the cricket club is definitely a good one, no trouble and right next to the ground so easy in and out. The Inn On The Wharf or Ministry of Ale, both of which are minutes from the train station - with ministry I believe doing quality beers etc if you are into that. There's also the Hollywood Star opposite the train station.

Of course if you are one of that small percentage of pond life who do want to find some trouble then visit the first three pubs I mentioned - you can be assured if finding similarly feeble minded idiots.

I've worked in Burnley for a number of years, and Longsiders is quite right - I wouldn't go in any of the Pubs "under t'Culvert" at any time of the day, never mind a Match day!

Does anyone know whether this game is being televised?

ITV3 I believe.

Think Rovers' following will be in the hundreds - don't know how ticket sales are going. I'll be there if back from Midlands in time.

Not unless they're changing their schedule it's not. 20 year old repeats of Murder She Wrote are far more important.

Just been to the ticket office to get my 2,lady behind the counter said they had only sold around 800.

Poor show by the Rovers fans if true... <_<

Doesn't really surprise me.

I think a big issue here is the personal safety one. Last few first team matches at Burnley have seen Rovers' supporters very carefully 'protected' by the police. I don't think the arrangements will be as tightly controlled on Wednesday and although both teams have their share of those who want trouble, I think Burnley have quite a few more !

TBH, I wouldn't contemplte going other than for the fact that if I manage to get back in time, I will be at the game as a 'guest'.

It's a sad, sad day when the idiots seem to prevail and deny such an occasion for the more sensible ones.

Well it's been a 'sad, sad day' for 30+ years then, 2012 is nothing like what it was like when the Darwen End roof was being thrown about or running battles at Turf Moor.

It is much safer today, but of course there is still plenty of 'needle', as you would expect from one of the country's oldest rivalries.

Not really sure about that ! As I said, last few occasions have been very carefully controlled.

As far as I'm aware, lots of Rovers' supporters will be arriving 'independently' which I think is a lot more of a risk.

Like you, I remember the days when we had Burnley, Bolton fans etc arriving on Saturday mornings in Blackburn centre and running amok and the running battles on Bolton Road. Dark ages and no one wants to go back there.

Is this televised or not ? I can't find anything anywhere on sky listings.

It isn't. No doubt the second leg of the United v Chelsea game will be on TV again though

Brenda Flood just tweeted Burnley have sold 6,800 Rovers 800

Pathetic showing from us.

Out supported by 'that' lot.

Thought we had pride?

Doesn't really surprise me.

There is an official coach running, so that excuse doesn't really wash much with me. That's as safe as it gets!

And?

The Dingles were always going to bring more, first time they have got this far in the Youth Cup since... well probably ever, whilst we are playing games of magnitude week in week out- case in point on Saturday.

You going to repeat your 'Burnley have more passionate fans' nonsense Mercer? Think we put that to bed with our out-singing of them home and away in the PL year.

What does that tell you?

This is their cup final!

Don't buy that.

If we can't get fired-up for a semi final against our most fierce rivals then I think it's a poor do.

After all 'the bravado' in the BBE last week, thought that at least half of them would have made the trip.
