[Archived] Kean and his bodyguard ,why?

ABBEY

Recommended Posts

An honourable and 'very nice man'.A man true to his word, dignified in the face of pure evil hatred from the loathsome B'stard Rovers fans as they watch their ancient and proud beloved club ruined beyond belief. But they are a small backwater club after all.

Who are they in the stands in their blue 'n' white shirts to judge the mighty Keano?....just who the ###### do these Rovers fans think they are to question this great man's ability and record at Ewood.

.

.

.

.(then I put the paper down and went for a long walk over the edge of a cliff)

The bodyguard nonsense is exactlty that, cold and calculated, designed to hit back at the Rovers faithfull for their justified critcism of him, makes us potentially all look like thugs in the eyes of others.

He mouths off to the press like its something to be proud of...OH LOOK AT ME,ENEMY N01 IN THE VILLAGE!.It's all tit for tat,he's the good guy,we're the devils spawn. This from a man who manages and almost fronts our club,a man we are supposed to respect and support!! <_<

Anderson and Kean have both claimed to have been abused and they have done this through the media for maximum impact...but where is the proof like Abbey states?.They seem to be able to get away with it.

B'stard Rovers is a dingle term, please don't use it no matter what pal. I thank you. Other than that I fully agree with your post.

Are the British press really that thick though, that they can't see through what he's doing?!

...oh, right.

No, all the press care about is a good story.

'Manager fearing for life from his own fans' is the kind of crap they eat up.

Let's face it, footballing matters have never gathered much attention at Ewood regardless of success.

As much as it gals me to say it, the guy has played an absolute blinder with the press. He releases statements just at the right time, to deflect people's attention away from the real issues at the club and instead focus their criticism on the Rovers fans as if we are the real problem with what is going on with the club. Didn't it come out a few months ago that the pillick had a minder? So releasing the same story again, with a bit more detail and bringing the family into it is just another ploy of gaining some cheap sympathy and keeping the heat off himself. Sickening as it is, it's worked a treat.

Couldn't agree with this more - he should have been a spin doctor for one of the political parties (I can hear cries of Monster Raving Looney - but I couldn't possibly comment).

Another potential angle - if their man in the UK needs a body guard - what chance our owners of coming across again ? Only at the Wigan match did they get a feel for how the paying customer really feels about their manager - I am sure he doesn't want to be put under such scrutiny again.

IMO - bottom line - it is an absolute insult to Rovers supporters - as releasing such information is a general attack on the good name of Rovers fans everywhere. If he felt the need for some form of added protection - it could have been done in a discrete way - rather than indirectly calling into question the good name of the protesters - and (as you say) going for the sympathy vote.

There are some great points on this thread but one thing grates.

Everyone can see what's going on and how we are being systematically ripped apart as a club and dishonoured as a fan base, yet mention the word 'protest' and it's "oh no, I don't think so". (Being polite).

On a separate note, is Jim banned at the minute?

I'm beginning to wonder whether keeping Kean is all a ploy to distract from the real mission/issue.

Asset stripping.

What kept you Maj? It's been on the cards fromm the off imo. Our 'club' in the local saw the possibilities and profit potential of asset stripping BRFC 3 years or so ago when the value of the club far exceeded the asking price.

May as well have gone ahead with it in hindsight.

Pretty obvious he was releasing this in response to the Arsenal hammering. Just like we get the "Hoilett will re-sign", "We've got lots of injuries" (when we didnt) excuses in after home defeats etc... Its a method to change the subject and stop scrunitising of his record. The sad fact is, it is working though.

Personally if there's likely to be people looking to harm him, surely he should be informing the police? I've seen reports saying people threatening Collymore have been arrested, but no action on threats from Rovers supporters.

Wouldnt it be refreshing if he was to come out and criticise the owners for selling his best players, and not allowing him to play other senior squad members? He seems so happy to discuss everything else in the press.

I agree with most of the above.

Why follow up the bodyguard story now? Lazy journalism? I thought things had quietened? I am more than a little perplexed.

As someone said, the writing is on the wall. With Samba gone, put on a brave face and remind the press what a viscious set of fans we have at Rovers. This guy grew up, we are led to believe, in Glasgow FFS.

The money must be fantastic because there's no other reason for him to be here.

Indeed, the writing looks more and more apparent.

Our non sectarian approach to supporting he must find perplexing.

The money will be good. Life changing in fact.

They've done nothing to date to suggest otherwise Maji.

Can you blame people for not believing what our owners say????

Suffice to say, said scenario has been doing the rounds from before they officially bought the club with the term Pompey MKII being used, frequently. I notice the house buying coincides with us reaching 40 points and if I'm being honest if this had come out say 2-3 weeks ago I would have agreed, I just find it odd that it comes out now. In it for the long haul, dependent on relegation?????? Who knows..........

Until they consistently display words and actions that match up, these rumours will persist....

I'm only just catching up am I? :P;) Your getting slow in your old age Theno, lol.

I do hope it's not the case and I'm open to being shown otherwise. It is worth considering that initially they went to one extreme IE new contracts etc, increasing the debt. And now what we are seeing is them flipping to the other extreme, serious cut backs. Trouble is we know little to judge them on as we've seen or heard very little from them. I truly hope they are just acting on bad advice as a club needs a good balance between promoting what happens on the pitch and money being spent. We have now seen both extremes and if being honest if I were asset stripping and that was my plan from day one then those new contracts etc would never have happened as all it means is I make less money from the initiative.

Agree with this 100% - something else caused this change in tack from Nov 2010 to what we are seeing now. Most likely the realization that what had gone on in the first few months had been a major disaster in financial, infrastructural and footballing terms - everything that could have been done wrongly, was.
