Amo Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Slowly but surely Balaji's dreams of Venky's All-Stars come to fruition.
Lurid Coat Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Excellent, just the type of player we need! Or not. As if we haven't got two million wingers/attacking midfielders in our squad already.
shivery85 Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 laughing stock again why dont we just re-sign ripley instead???
Devon Rover Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I have no doubt that Zenden would be the answer to all our problems. Why not line him up as the next assistant manager too? Sarcasm mode off. Surely this cant be true? Martin Blackburn does seem very clued up about Rovers developments so perhaps we can 'look forward' to Zenden contributing nothing more than (or even as much as) the likes of Pedersen, Rochina, Formica can.
LeChuck Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 I think Zenden moved into a fairly deep central role after his pace went, so I imagine he would be seen as a potential partner to N'Zonzi more than anything. N'Zonzi aside, we don't have a central midfielder who can play that deeper role who has the technical ability and composure to retain possession. I think he'd be a decent temporary signing, our central midfield is woefully thin. Having said that, it would be coupled with immense frustration that we didn't make a move for Diarra instead, as he would have been ideal.

What are the chances of him getting anywhere near match fitness between now and end of season? Unless I am unaware of a recent spell he has had at a team then I see no benefit in this potential signing. Agreed on Diarra- at least he is still of a decent age (although also unlikely to be fully fit for a while).
Guest Rovers4Good Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Thought Kean said he was different to Big Sam? All he's doing is bringing in the old guard
joey_big_nose Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Hasn't played since the last day of last season. Really desperate stuff. But I guess if he can add a bit of composure in the middle it would make sense. Is he much of a leader? We need one of those in midfield...
Mercer Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 We really must be desperate. This tells us all we need to know about Petro !!! WTF was Andrews allowed to leave ?
Mafioso Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 This is crazy! What we need is a player like Basturk or Vogel.
Pitty Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Thought Kean said he was different to Big Sam? All he's doing is bringing in the old guard Thats not really true is it, if anything the oppersite.
davulsukur Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Why did we not move for Diarra if we are signing freebies?
den Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 From Tugay, Bellamy, Bentley, Savage, Roque Santa Cruz, Nelsen, Samba, Friedel - to Petrovic, Slew, Goodwillie, Vucevic, Orr, Zenden, Anderson and Ribiero. Is it any wonder? .

Majiball Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Sod signing Zenden, if there's cash available for new players how about we play Vuckevic???
Amo Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Sod signing Zenden, if there's cash available for new players how about we play Vuckevic??? He's on a £50,000 appearance bonus. It made sense to Venky's at the time!
G Somerset Rover Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 He's on a £50,000 appearance bonus. It made sense to Venky's at the time! An absolute joke if true that it's that high per appearance. Who the hell offered him those terms?!!
Kelbo Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 An absolute joke if true that it's that high per appearance. Who the hell offered him those terms?!! Meat Pie head Desai, anyone else would have been sacked !!
