As promised, my second review of The Jam from back in the day; this time their final appearance at King Georges Hall in June 1980. Tuesday 3rd June 1980. The Jam, King Georges Hall, Blackburn.

Oldjamfan meets old Jam man. And what a lovely fella he was. They say you should never meet your heroes but this bloke was amazing last night.

Would mean a lot if anyone could give this a listen, band that I'm in with my mate. Only 15 years old so lyrics, vocals etc ain't gonna be the best. Many thanks in advance if anyone checks it out

It’s actually 180, with the last one being PW himself.

The interview with Weller himself is absolutely first rate and I would recommend anyone should listen to it whether you're a fan or not.

He genuinely is the real deal. Someone that every artist should look at as the benchmark.

I agree. That is the ‘real’ Paul Weller and in almost 50 years it’s the first time I’ve ever heard him be quite so relaxed being interviewed. 
 

For someone with his talent and back  catalogue he is a surprisingly humble bloke. He actually reminds me of a certain Kenny Dalglish in that respect.  
 

The rest of the podcast interviews are what I meant as being suitable only for the diehards by the way. I’m not sure there would be great interest in the bloke that played bass on the third Style Council single for example. The Weller finale is exceptional.

Yeah some of the other ones are a bit too anorak for me but the interview with Weller himself is absolutely essential listening for anyone I'd say.

Not many artists get to his stage in life with their integrity intact. As I said before, he's the real deal.
