rhodie
Been looking at a few forums and a bit of a rumour popped up that Vucivic isn`t playing because of the dreaded "contractual issues".Has anyone else heard anything? Is it true?

Majiball
Why else would a player who turned the english RB inside out be on the bench?
Sparky Marky
He's potentially our Tugay but never been given any type of run in what is a shyte team. Its unbelievable but typical

Devon Rover
I`ve been hoping to see him get a few games under his belt.Of the new players and not including the Yak, He was the signing that showed promise It made me laugh earlier to read Andy Cryer suggesting Zenden would be a better signing than Vukcevic. Vukcevic has quality but he has not been given the opportunity to show it through a run of games to aid his adaptation to the Premier League. I have seen him play on TV for previous club and his country and he has always looked capable. Definitely easily good enough to warrant a place in the current Rovers team, in my opinion. There might be other factors in play such as potentially an attitude/language problem, but I tend to doubt that. With what has gone on recently I would consider it more likely that there is a financial/contractual reason why a high quality, international, footballer in the peak of his career has not been given a run in a struggling team. Any suggestion that signing Zenden would be a good move when this guy is already here, kicking his heels on the bench, is ridiculous.
RoyRover
It's a complete joke. If the club agreed to putting such a clause in his contract, then they should be prepared to pay it. When a guy who is obviously very talented, can't get a game because the owners don't want to pay an appearance fee, it's just another fine example of the complete crooks we have running the club. If they didn't want to spend money, they shouldn't have bought the club.

There must be one hell of a contractual reason why he can't play - if it turns out to the cheaper to pay him to sit on the bench - and then bring in another player who presumably won't be playing for the fun of it. purplegrover
Its absurd that he is not getting a run. We are struggling for experience. Here is an international, with champions league experience, well used to playing the big games - sitting on the bench match after match. There is NO suggestion that he is unfit. I'm sure the busted nose has well and truly fixed itself up (and he played with it anyway ?).He has done enough in my view in the handful of games he was played early on, to show that he has some solid class - and deserves an extended stint to prove himself (I mean, can he be any less effective than our current midfield ?) The fact that he is not being played at all is not only absurd, it is positively sinister. There has to be a money reason. Perhaps his contract gives him a premium per game played - has Kean been told to save the cash by benching him ? Now, of all times, when we are staring relegation in the face - why isn't he being played ? At least give him a crack. Can he be any more disappointing than Petrovic ? Agree with this thread 100% - just wanted to vent. Thanks for your time. Carry on.
Rovers_Dan
hes a good player alright and given a run could be devastating. did great in the arsenal game i thought and scored against sunderland. what a stupid club we now have.
Brfcrule1
I believe it is contractual why he is only making the bench if as kamy states in the podcast it is down to money why he is not playing and he would get an appearance bonus then that is a disgrace and the lot of them should hang their heads in shame as he clearly has class I mean anyone who can lead the England RB a merry dance most definitely has class and even when I did see him play against the Mackems the one thing that stuck out he got forward well took his goal superbly put some very dangerous crosses into their box and gave their full nacks lots of problems but most importantly and I think Lowe appreciated it at least he retained the shape and provided good cover for Lowe unlike some who leave our fullbacks totally exposed as an all round winger he deserves his chance and should get an extended run in the team. Blandy
I may get shot down for this, but in my opinion I reckon his omission is down to an attitude problem - Everwhere the guy has been he has been dropped due to poor attitude and poor training. If Kean has been told not to play him due to money issues - why waste a place on the bench with a guy who is not going to play.
OJRovers
I don't know why him and Rochina bother bringing their boots just to sit on the bench, you just know that Kean isn't going to bring them on. Simon deserves a chance, he could do a much better job than Pedersen on the wide right position.

donnermeat
What a shambles who the hell sanctioned the appearance fee then only to nix the idea when it comes to actually playing him? Only this would happen at Rovers nowadays (in the PL), you couldn't make it up. What a disgrace. I'm convinced this guy could make a difference. LeChuck
Let's say the Zenden rumours are true... Is Vukcevic's appearance fee likely to be more than Zenden's weekly wage? Or even Marcus Olsson's weekly wage? The same thing puzzles me about Salgado. Reading between the lines on his Twitter, he suggests it has appearance fee money keeping him out of the team. Is that appearance fee going to be more than what it cost to have Orr here? It's crazy.

They guy is class and Ive seen enough of him internationally and in european competition to say he's better than the shyte that get a game every week. They guy is class and Ive seen enough of him internationally and in european competition to say he's better than the shyte that get a game every week. Sadly, he's been far from impressive on his rare outings for Rovers. His reluctance to tackle cost us the Cup-tie at Newcastle and capped another dreadful performance. Having said that, he surely deserves another chance but clearly with the circus that is Blackburn Rovers who knows the reasons why players are selected or not anymore. bob fleming
You're so sweet. He could be Messi for all we know - however it matters not a jot. We can't afford to play him it would appear! What a bloody shambles of a football club. Dear Venky's, please read up on Profit and Loss book keeping, it could be a real eye opener for you. Then again, just lay everyone off, get rid of all the experienced players, go into Administration and get us relegated.

You might have noticed that I didn't comment on Sparky's wise and well researched words - and I quote him here - "he's better than the shyte that get a game every week". He might well be, but I doubt he'll be here long enough for us to find out. I doubt he'll be here next season.
Majiball
they are penny pinching, I am told a certain youth player is no longer playing for the ressies as a couple more apps means a 5k a week pay rise. Simon is better than what we have bad attitude or not. get your wallets out venkys you made this mess and your not aiding conceptions of your people over here. alexanders
He is very weak defensively though. However he would fit very nicely in a 4-2-3-1. Vukcevic - Dunn - Hoilett Yakubu. With Lowe's engine it might work against some teams.
Kelbo
What a bloody carry on this is, why sign a player, give him a contract based on appearances and then cant afford to play him, its like buying a car and putting it in the driveway because you cant afford the petrol!! Now I know what I would be calling people in both those cases, Idiots of the highest order, god, have all the Rao family had their brains cut out and a meat pie transplanted?
