SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Just spoke to my mate who's a Burnley fan. He was at the turd today, and as news of the goals filtered through they started chanting about playing the b****rds next season. I know we're all cheesed off after the way the club has been dragged down, but the thought of the east lancs derby and the Indians selling up etc who knows ? Look at Newcastle ?! AS...fancy our chances against Burnley with the p!llocks still in charge?

Mercer Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 According to Kean, looks like Hanley out for season, Yak feeling patella tendon (that isn't good, tendonitis is a very difficult injury to deal with and more or less finished Owen Hargreaves) and Hoilett hamstring (would think no chance for Norwich and with his history could be a 3 week job). Cruel blows.

Cruel blows. Please don't give Kean any further excuses to give to the media and Desai. The media will for one not even bother to look into the players he doesn't pick or the fact that we've been relatively injury free all season.

Stuart Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Merson about Connor and rovers fans. Big Nose about Kean. Just remind me, Merson's agent is/was Anderson? According to Kean, looks like Hanley out for season, Yak feeling patella tendon (that isn't good, tendonitis is a very difficult injury to deal with and more or less finished Owen Hargreaves) and Hoilett hamstring (would think no chance for Norwich and with his history could be a 3 week job). Cruel blows. Givet must surely start then? Or is he also "injured"?

Cruel blows. Heard Kean's interview on Beeb and sounds like Dunny also struggling with achilles. Team for Norwich: Robbo / Lowe, Dann, Orr, Olsson1 / Nzonzi, Petro,/ Simon, Peders, Olsson2 / Goodwillie Frightening !

Cruel blows. mind you if Kean said it was saturday the 14th today I'd double check my calender with the lies he tells.....
47er Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 After the season we have had and 5 losses on the bounce, it's unbelievable that we are still in the mix. Logic suggests we have no chance, especially with Kean as manager. Who knows - feels like heart ruling head again. In your heart you know------we are down.

Cruel blows. Kean confirms gravity of situation. Looks like Hanley & Yak finished for season whilst Hoilett doubtful. Dunny also struggling: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2129886/Steve-Kean-slams-Gael-Givets-attitude.html
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 In your heart you know------we are down. Stranger things have happened - the injury situation may force Kean into playing players that had previously (like Simon) been on the side lines - to be honest could they do any worse ?
EwoodDawn Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Did he wave a white flag with 'injuries' emblazoned on it?
Mercer Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Stranger things have happened - the injury situation may force Kean into playing players that had previously (like Simon) been on the side lines - to be honest could they do any worse ? No Yak, no Hoilett and no hope now.
Backroom DE. Posted April 14, 2012 Backroom Posted April 14, 2012 More excuses for Kean to give when we go down. "Being without the Yak, Hoilett and Grant Hanley for the last four crucial games is what sent us down in the end."
Stuart Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Spot on DE. He can do no wrong. The Football Union has closed ranks. It doesn't matter what they say off-mic, it's all about keeping the media sweet because they want to keep their privileged, cushy lifestyles going by talking bullocks for easy money so they won't upset the incestuous agency network. Managers are simply following LMA guidelines but secretly I expect they all feel he gives them a bad name.
Backroom DE. Posted April 15, 2012 Backroom Posted April 15, 2012 I think it was someone on here who said 'in football, nobody ever does a bad job'. So true as far as managers are concerned. Not only that - but even if a manager does get sacked they get a ridiculous amount of compensation just for failing at their job didn't Paul Ince walk away with millions after his short reign of horror? As an industry football is backwards beyond belief. It needs to be completely dismantled and reborn, but as long as there's big money involved the industry will lurch on as the grotesque monster it has become.

Heard Seralex yesterday saying how McCleish did an excellent job at Rangers (ended up THIRD behind Hearts!), did well with Birmingham (two relegations) and is now doing well at Villa.

Kamy100 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Looking at the fixtures for QPR and Wigan, then I think that 35 points and we will be relying on goal difference, 36 points should be enough to stay up outright. I think that Bolton will be ok. I can't see Rovers getting to 35 points, but to even have a glimmer of getting there then we have to beat Norwich on Saturday and try to improve our goal difference, it would have been difficult if we had a fully fit squad but with injuries to key attacking players (Junior and Yak) and a team in complete disarray it becomes even more difficult. It won't happen but if Kean really wants to turn this around then he should be doing everything possible to get Salgado and Givet back in the team for next weekend, Michel might not be the player he was but his experience and fighting qualities is exactly what we need now, he and fully motivated Givet are very capable of getting the rest of the team together so that we at least some passion and commitment out there.

You're clutching at straws matey. When did Salgado last kick a ball in anger ? 6 months ago ? He was struggling for pace then, what do you think he'll be like now ? Young Henley would be a better bet. As for Givet of course he should play. I don't know about you but I've had plenty of problems in my life. Another thing I know is that for 90 minutes I could forget all my problems and get rid of all my frustrations on the opposition. I didn't see the half time kick about but for him to join in was a strange thing to do, seems to me he was trying to get across he wants to play. I know he's an odd bod but surely he should want to play if only to put himself in the shop window. Maybe his next move is already sorted.
