blueboy3333 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Well, we need at least 6 points to go above Wigan, and 4 to go above QPR because of the goal difference. There's more chance of Kean winning a trophy

Proudtobeblue&white Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Like the majority I think Wigan's win is highly significant in the general scheme of our current plight - I took my 12 year old to Euxton tonight to play for Clitheroe U13's at cricket - he has learning difficulties & is not the most gifted athlete yet they beat a probably better side - very proud of him! I think I will take that into next year when I give up my love for our team and do something else instead
roversfan1 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 its called treachery! another of kean's qualities! I am genuinely baffled and cannot believe some fans wanted wigan to win.. are delighted they won etc.. its incomprehensible. It was a great performance by a Wigan team written off by all and they showed a lot of fight, heart and desire in pulling off two excellent back to back wins. Tonight they bettered Arsenal at the Emirates and not many do that. My wanting them to do well was more born out of wanting to see them get a result for their effort and nothing to do with being glad that it screws Rovers any further - we have been knackered for a long time now and lets be honest Wigan beating Arsenal is not the result that will send us down, that happened a long time and many bad results ago!
Backroom DE. Posted April 16, 2012 Backroom Posted April 16, 2012 Rovers are going down regardless of Wigan's results, Zac. There's nothing wrong with giving them their dues - they're a proper, well-run club. Venky's could learn a lot from Dave Whelan, not that they'll have any idea who he is.

Doug Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Wigan were superb, they are everything we aren't!! Great manager, chairman and a team that PLAYS for it's manager. I take my hat off to them.

Venky's could learn a lot from Dave Whelan, not that they'll have any idea who he is. agree with your points on whelan and giving wigan their dues (which I have also done). But there's a huge difference between giving them their dues and wanting them to win! Like the majority I think Wigan's win is highly significant in the general scheme of our current plight - I took my 12 year old to Euxton tonight to play for Clitheroe U13's at cricket - he has learning difficulties & is not the most gifted athlete yet they beat a probably better side - very proud of him! BRFC1995 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 looking at the teams in the playoffs and just below, frightening we are not going to compete with them, kean is'nt going anywhere he's ideal for venkys and i stand by my thoughts fromm weeks back that the overall aim is to get indian players into the side and lower league less spotlight football and a stooge/puppet at the helm creates the perfect storm for that to happen.
47er Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Full marks to Wigan's support .... who despite having a manager with a similar record to Kean at the time .... didn't press the self destruct button back in September and help heap a malaise on their own club. Since we didn't sack Kean I'm just wondering where the "malaise" has come from? The fans I suppose? There were people on here pointing out that QPR had got rid of their manager and 'look what a mess Hughes is making of it"!!! You don't seem to get those posts anymore! Martinez is an experienced manager and his side plays good football. He is also an honourable and likeable man who was offered the Villa job but wouldn't turn his back on Whelan. Kean and Martinez-------chalk and cheese.
thenodrog Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 The end cAnt come soon enough now. If we were a pet we'd be put out of our misery on humane reasons.
cn174 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I just cannot join in with this wigan love-in which seems to be happening all over the show (I never knew I had so many wigan supporting friends on facebook!). It just makes me sad that Wigan are better than us :(
philipl Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I just cannot join in with this wigan love-in which seems to be happening all over the show (I never knew I had so many wigan supporting friends on facebook!). It just makes me sad that Wigan are better than us :( I don't think it is so much a Wigan love-in as remembrance of things lost. At one time we had deep intense pride in our club representing our town. We were a decent club with decent people and unusual but decent owners and a fabulous heritage that truly mattered. We could look to our Board with confidence that they were decent competent people who had the club and the town's best interests at heart. We usually employed hard working intelligent competent management who usually told us things as they were. We could understand the club's formations and tactics on the playing field and we got used to regularly playing good attractive football and to finishing in the top half of the Premier League. Horrible rumours about criminality and financial irresponsibility were told about other people's clubs and we never believed it would happen to our club. We had a dignity, a civic standing and a purpose and all this was communicated itself through to the players who usually lived and played up to these standards. This evening in Wigan, we saw starkly what we have lost and what another club still has.

Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not us say the owners from Asia's shore We don't even know the score It's in our plan to grow the brand Why can't you fans just understand ? What's your problem with Steve Kean ? He's our man, don't vent your spleen We think he's fine , we think he's great He's not the one that you should hate. It wasn't us that made the Rovers fall No you can't blame us at all. Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not me said the manager, glass in hand We're all going to the promised land It's not my fault, my hands are tied I'm not the only one that's lied If I hadn't had that little drink We wouldn't be going down the sink You want me out ? You've lost the plot ! Other managers say I'm ###### hot. It wasn't me who made the Rovers fall No you can't blame me at all. Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not us say the Walker Trust Did you expect us to go bust ? No point crying about Big Jack Nowt you say wll bring him back You must see we had to bail out Ain't no reason to jump and shout We did our best, we shopped around It's not our fault you got the clown It wasn't us who made the Rovers fall No you can't blame us at all. Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not us say the pundits on T.V. We're only saying what we see To us it's only just a game Time you saw it just the same We don't like Ewood Park It's always cold, it's always dark For all of us you're just a joke Lancashire ? We'll take the 'Smoke '. It wasn't us that made the Rovers fall No you can't blame us at all. Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not me said an agent bung in hand You're only fans, We own the stand My players all have expensive tastes I'm under pressure, Fergie's on the " bone " " I'll swap you Diouff for Phil Jones " That's what I call a stroke of luck Who says agents don't give a ----. It wasn't me that made the Rovers fall No you can't blame me at all Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not me said the player via his tweet We're up for it, we won't get beat I'll kiss the badge, give you a wave Our situations not so grave I'd love to play , I really would Problem is my head's not " good " The manager speaks, he should know He leaves me out, I'll have to go. It wasn't us that made the Rovers fall No you can't blame us at all. Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not me said the football writer Pounding print on his old typewriter Saying " The press ain't to blame " You know we've got to play the game We can't afford to rock the boat It's not as simple as you thought We only tell you want we think It's down to you to find the stink. It wasn't me that made the Rovers fall No you can't blame me at all Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not me said the Premier League chief " Venkies are beyond belief ? " I can't agree, we did the checks We asked their bank, they passed the spec's I know what's wrong with all of you You're just racists , through and through We did our best now go away It's Burnley next you've got to play It wasn't me that made the Rovers fall No you can't blame me at all Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Not us said the Pune group Go to India ? What a coup It's just a jaunt, we'll do no harm I've never seen a chicken farm We thought we'd go and have our say A trip like this, who would say nay ? The Venkies showed their friendly side Shame they took us for a ride. It wasn't us that made the Rovers fall No you can't blame us at all With appologies to Bob Dylan and the late Davey Moore.
Backroom Tom Posted April 16, 2012 Backroom Posted April 16, 2012 Who killed Blackburn Rovers ? Why ? And what was the reason for ? Very clever and well written Now obviously I'm goin to take issue with the last verse, I've always been honest and admitted the Pune trip to be a failure but a fair amount of poetic licence is needed to citate it as a reason for our downfall. The worst that could be said is we were a tiny part of a pr junket and were ignored when it mattered. Although others will disagree And of course are fully entitled to hold that view - eh sentient wherever you may be?
Ewood Spark Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Looks like you forgot a verse ...... Who killed Blackburn Rovers? Why? And what was the reason for? It was not me the Trembler cried, I cannot be blamed for the slide. I protested clad in yellow and black, just to give 'Coco' some flack. Why should I hang my head in shame? A poisonous atmosphere wasn't my aim, It wasn't my intention as a 'true fan', To become the other teams 12th man. It wasn't me that made rovers fall. No you can't blame me at all.
Mattyblue Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Aww did everybody ignore your sad attempt first time round Sparky? Well done with your happy clapping by the way, 20 years of success down the toilet and you were happy to let it happen, bravo.
Athlete Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 wish people would wake up and smell the coffeee not just on here but on other boards as well we need a 2 match turnaround against QPR ( due to GD ) + Wigan 6 points , Bolton are 1 point above us with 2 games in hand there are 4 games left of which we have Spurs and Chelsea away both going for champions league spots and we have no Yak.......in otherwords we have no chance even if we had Fergie in charge we'd still be odds on for the drop !

Those who sapped the spirit from the club by bringing their petty politics to match days are the ones with real blood on their hands. Achieved absolutly diddly-squat except ridicule and derision ... an absolute embarassment.
Stuart Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Venkys got rid of the Arte... Kean finally extinguished the Labore...
Mattyblue Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 No that's you spark, we could see the club was spiralling out of control. Alas you had taken Venky's 40 pieces of silver.
