47er Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I thought Jol refused to sell Andy unless a ridiculous fee was offered? Modeste hasn't really had that many games to do anything and I don't think any striker we could've brought in would have been able to displace Yakubu from the starting lineup anyway. Modeste was obviously brought in as backup and probably falls in the Di Santo/Mame Diouf category. Goodwillie is a strange signing because surely he needs to play in a 4-4-2 to do a decent job, which we rarely do and he would have to get in front of Hoilett and Rochina for a starting spot as well. Goodwillie is a strange signing because he's a cart-horse. The new Rooney and the new Dennis Irwin and Petrovic who "can do anything'. Woeful signings all. Why if we have so little money do we throw it away buying several players who are all gambles? Why not pool it and buy 1 or 2 proven players who can play in this league?

Backroom DE. Posted April 12, 2012 Backroom Posted April 12, 2012 Good news guys, bench-warming supremo Anthony Modeste won his appeal against his red card. We're back in the saddle now!!!!!!
Baz Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Good news guys, bench-warming supremo Anthony Modeste won his appeal against his red card. We're back in the saddle now!!!!!! Now who said he definitely kicked the WBA player? See Liverpool appealed the Doni red card too. And it got rejected. What happened to additional bans for spurious appeals?
philipl Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Good news guys, bench-warming supremo Anthony Modeste won his appeal against his red card. We're back in the saddle now!!!!!! Oh you are joking! That was as blatant a deserved red card as they come. The guy is so useless we needed the space on the bench for a better player. Modeste by name, extremely modest in skill.
