benhben Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Doesnt sound good for the lad. Medics spent 10 minutes trying to resucitate him with a defibrulator. Taken off the pitch not breathing. Match abandoned. Thoughts are with him and his family

A cup of beans Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 was terrible to watch that. dreadful. my thoughts are with him and his family and friends.
Mercer Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Hope the lad pulls through. Football totally irrelevant.
Andy Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Doesn't look good for him to be honest, and from experience if it's a heart attack (as suspected) then the odds are against him pulling through. But fingers crossed. Good decision by the referee to call the match off. Health and wellbeing are always 100% more important than football.
Mike Graham Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Good luck Fabrice. As Mercerman says, football is irrelevant.
rovers11 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Medics can perform miracles nowadays. Let's pray they can pull off another one.
Backroom Tom Posted March 17, 2012 Backroom Posted March 17, 2012 So horrible but it seems inevitable sadly or they would have said he had been resuscitated.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Everything crossed here, pull through son.
Baz Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 BREAKING: Ambulance crew confirms that they got Muamba breathing again. @markchapman From twitter, pray this isnt a sick joke
BigUts Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Very sad. Even if he survives he will be very poorly. Such a sad, sad thing to happen.
Devon Rover Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Shocking and upsetting to see. Very much hope he pulls through.
Backroom Tom Posted March 17, 2012 Backroom Posted March 17, 2012 BREAKING: Ambulance crew confirms that they got Muamba breathing again. @markchapman From twitter, pray this isnt a sick joke Started by a 19 year old lad miles away Seems a sick prank to get attention
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 17, 2012 Moderation Lead Posted March 17, 2012 Really hope he pulls through. Thoughts with his family, friends and colleagues.
thenodrog Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Doesn't look good for him to be honest, and from experience if it's a heart attack (as suspected) then the odds are against him pulling through. No medical knowledge whatsoever but I think the time between any attack and proper medical treatment is crucial to recovery by avoiding the brain being starved of oxygen. In this case Muamba was treated very quickly and by trained medics. Lets hope that is the case here.
savage90 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 This is a horrible day, Antonio Puerta suffered a heart attack on field, he managed to walk himself off after recovering but a series of heart attacks caused permanent brain damaged and he died 3 days later. I am not meaning to be insensitive, but the odds are so set against Muamba. It's tragic, we will all pray for him and that he comes through strong!
roverandout Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 not only him but foe, the hungarian lad playing for benfica as well, football needs to do more to check players' health on a regular basis, too many times this has happened over the last few years.
Baz Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Sky news - hospital says he is in a stable condition.
Grabbi Graeme Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Sky News are reporting that Muamba is in a stable condition
Backroom DE. Posted March 17, 2012 Backroom Posted March 17, 2012 Fingers crossed for Muamba, glad to hear this news.
cn174 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 not only him but foe, the hungarian lad playing for benfica as well, football needs to do more to check players' health on a regular basis, too many times this has happened over the last few years. Thing is they're probably more monitored than ever before, but some things just happen. It is fairly common to see players training/playing wearing those heart monitors. Very glad to hear that he is stable condition, hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Great to hear he is stable, hope he makes a full recovery.
koi Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Good news, lets hope he continues to pull through. not only him but foe, the hungarian lad playing for benfica as well, football needs to do more to check players' health on a regular basis, too many times this has happened over the last few years. Every minute detail of a players health is checked and monitored on an almost daily basis.
rovers11 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Fantastic news. Well done to the medical team at spurs and Bolton. And a huge well done to the fan who ran on to help (who apparently is a cardiologist)
