RibbleValleyRover Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 If they haven't they should. Every Season Ticket sold is a vote of confidence in what the Venkeymob are doing to the club. Spot on. You could say the same for merchandise as well, every single penny spent is going toward paying Kean's salary and is ultimately an endorsement of the way the club is being run. How anyone is willing to give money to a club that has basically told the fans to eff off is beyond me.

Mattyblue Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 It's not a vote of confidence it's a passion which nobody will stop. About two thirds of the support already have.
rovers11 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 For the good of the club, I think everyone should boycott the club. That is the only way Venky's will leave. No fans = no club. No fans, no sponsors, no merchandise sales, no players wanting to play for the club, no respectable administrators wanting to wrok for the club = the end of Venky's. They can screw over the club in the short term but they will soon feel the effects.
arbitro Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 It's not a vote of confidence it's a passion which nobody will stop. It's not a passion at all, it's unadulterated blind loyalty. Do you not think that the thousands who aren't renewing are hurting? The only way I can come anywhere near to telling the Indians what I think is by not spending another penny on anything that is Rovers related and my determination to do this supercedes any feelings I have for the shell of a football club.
Shabani Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I don't understand this Parachute payments argument The Venkys are not going to walk away with 48m, they'll be lucky if they have any money left come the end Under Keans rule there will be so little income that they'll be using most of that money to pay the wages. Few ST holders, no-one buying rovers related stuff, no players left to sell, no TV money, no cup run money more than likely If we can keep taking as much money as possible out of the club the venkys will probably sell up Thats why i feel that people renewing STs are harming the club, as evey ST sold is tacit approval of the regime and Steve Kean. Agnew will sit there every day looking at those numbers and everytime one more is sold he can spin it to the owners. Our only form of communication to the owners is to show them that we want them out of the club so badly, that we are no longer willing to watch our football club play People have to stop buying STs, despite the pain it causes them
thenodrog Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 It's not a vote of confidence it's a passion which nobody will stop. You may look at it that way but you will be wrong to do so. It will be interpreted as I predict. Hughesy you are allowing your heart to rule your head. A pretty damning indictment of the tragic situation we find ourselves in when people are being criticised for renewing season tickets.... I'm not criticising any people for following their emotions. I'm just making them aware of the consequences of their actions. Whichever way you want to see it buying a ST is a vote of confidence in the current set up and a clear endorsement of the manager and the owners. If people want to help with any takeover then devaluing the club as much as possible is the single best move available. Hopefully it will mean funds being available for the club rather than lining the pockets of the slumdogs as a parting gift from the people of Blackburn. Lets force em out with a kick up the arse and not pay them off with a golden handshake.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 The next time you are at work, or out with friends, and they take the p*ss out of you pay them a tenner. This is basically the same as buying a season ticket at the moment.

They will be left with two choices - sell up or put their own my in. I think we all know the answer to that one.
thenodrog Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Exactly! They will be left with two choices - sell up or put their own my in. I think we all know the answer to that one. three. Sell off anything that is not nailed down / asset strip. I'd imagine that is most likely unless some of the assets sold by the Trust were protected by covenents. I'm not sure how we could get to know that. As I've said getting rid of that lot will be like killing a cancer with chemotherapy but without killing the host. Mighty unpleasant at best. Jack Walkers legacy to the town could be plundered and that would be a criminal atrocity.

thenodrog Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 They're running out off assets. Brockhall, EP, EP Car Parks.
Paul Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 After todays events at the club I have decided to try and get a refund on my ST. Has anyone successfully done this? If you paid in full up front is this possible? Any experiences appreciated. What events are these? I've stopped bothering to read or keep up with anyhting. Has something big happened?
MarkBRFC71 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Chorley season tickets are £170. Would rather spend that than watch Agnew and Kean destroy Rovers while I pay for the privilege of powerlessly watching it unfold before my eyes. Some people have said that they're still getting tickets and will give Kean abuse, but if it had no effect with 20,000 calling for his head loud and long in a televised Premier League game, then 8,000 in a non-entity Championship game will mean nothing. Said it before - it might say Blackburn Rovers on the stadium, but it's no longer the same club. So, so sad.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 If they haven't they should. Every Season Ticket sold is a vote of confidence in what the Venkeymob are doing to the club. Not sacking Kean after his appalling drunken interview has dragged the club down to the level of the gutter. Their lack of action is effectively an endorsement of the man. Couldn't agree more Theno...this is one hell of a middle fingered salute to the fans.
3rdpillar Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I renewed, eveyone I choose to attend with has renewed, howver the first live TV game and we will still be in the pub come final whistle.
beatrix Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Where is the loyalty to the club through thick and thin ? we support BRFC not the venkeys and have done in our case since 1957. We constantly criticise players, managers etc for not showing loyalty to the club and in the same breath walk away from the club when things get tough. We badly need to see the back of kean and the raos as soon as possible but we need loyal supporters to stick with BRFC until things start to improve. We have renewed our 4 season tickets and make no apology to anyone for doing so, we continue to actively support BLACKBURN ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB What has happened to ROVERS till I die for example. It is a convenient excuse after relegation to desert them using the raos and kean to justify their actions, we need to show proper support through thick and thin and see our current problems out. Season tickets at ewood park are cheap ! I can understand fans being angry and frustrated at the moment but walking away from the club will not help, if anything it will lend weight to our critics who criticise our supporters for not getting behind the TEAM.

Said it before - it might say Blackburn Rovers on the stadium, but it's no longer the same club. So, so sad. A very small section of supporters gave Kean abuse throughout the season, the vast majority didn't even bother until the Wigan game which was 6 months to late. So buying season tickets to give Kean abuse doesn't wash for me, that ship has sailed long ago and 99% of Blackburn fans missed the boat.
OJRovers Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 The 4/5k renewals were reported as a 'success' in Pune and no-doubt Kean used this as a sign that the fans were behind him. The delluded ones in India were fooled by the 'comparable to other early bird schemes' lies. That's why I don't agree with anyone buying a season ticket.
Amo Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 lol. We're past the stage of 'naive little Venky's being duped by Kean'. Chances are they don't even own the club and are simply a front for someone else.

Backroom Tom Posted June 7, 2012 Backroom Posted June 7, 2012 For me it's a decision everyone has to come to their own conclusion on, there isn't one right answer For me though I simply can't find enough passion to force my way through the crap If my house was infested by rats and cockroaches i'd move out whilst the exterminators were in then move back. Anyone know any good ones?

I couldn't careless about our critics to be honest. This is simply about not wanting to be associated with the dismantling of our once great club. Its not Blackburn Rover anymore, that died when the idiots in Pune took over, and until Venkys, Kean and Agnew are removed from the club it will never be Blackburn Rovers in my eyes. I admire your staying power and your rallying call We display passion in different ways, and if I was to attend week in week out, I’d spend more time in the cells down at Ewood than I would in my seat/at the bar......
