Somebody tell SEM that.

I doubt they're bothered. Funny that they'd have no job and no blood to suck out of the game without us as well.....

Somebody tell SEM that.

This is one of the problems with all the "confusion".

We don't know 100% who to aim our sights at. There must be people somewhere cocking their sides at how this has all played out... every time they count their dough.

illegitimates.

I have no issue with anyone not renewing. It is their choice, and my choice was to renew.

When Nestle were taking over Rowntrees, I lived in York and boycotted all Nestle products as they were seen as likely to dismantle all the 'paternal' elements of the company. My boycott lasted a good number of years after the takeover was completed until I finally bought a Nestle Kit Kat in the late 90s.

As those who aren't renewing or boycotting completely, a few questions though. And I am honestly not trying to wind anyone up.

Will you complain when the Burnley away match is restricted to season ticket holders and say those who have attended 4 home games?

If we have a decent cup run (however unlikely) what will you do if restrictions are in place?

And ultimately, again however unlikely, we are in the playoffs - would you boycott the home match or Wembley?

I'm genuinely interested to know, considering ticket allocation (Celtic, Burnley, Feyernoord etc) has generated a lot of noise for various reasons in the past.

If the venkys and/or Kean are still involved in any capacity I will have no problem at all in boycotting that match too. And as for the other scenarios you have quoted the only possible answer is " what are you on?"

Oh grow up and read what I said. I asked a couple of polite questions that genuinely interested me in light of being on this site for over 12 years and having witnessed moaning and groaning about ticket allocations in far happier times. But you decide to take a cheap shot.

For what its worth I don't think we will be successful this season and think a relegation scrap beckons. So I will rephrase the questions: If by some miracle we do see some success under Kean, then will fans still stay away by choice? Or if by restriction will they complain or accept it as a necessary sacrifice?

I've also wondered if people would accept Kean if he was successful. The last time I gave him the benefit of the doubt, it was the Liverpool home match in his first few games.

Personally, I think he has gone past the point of no return and will never be supported.

A sligthly more pertinent question might be: if Kean is made DOF and Colin Hendry (e.g.) is made Head Coach, would people still stay away?

I think there are some who are itching for some kind of gesture by the club which sees Kean no longer being manager when they will return - but not for 40% increase in price! However, I think there are a hell of a lot for whom it wouldn't make a jot of difference, unless he was sacked completely, and very many others who will stay away as long as Venkys are here.

It would take an almightly swing in strategy, attitude and communication - following a very public admission of idiocy and a public apology before Venkys can be given any chance of redemption. That day is not going to dawn any time soon.

I think at 76yrs old I have done all the growing up I am ever going to do, and as for reading what you said, I think I did that and I am sorry that you do not seem able to grasp the actual thrust of my answer. So I will try and make it crystal clear to you.

You posed a question aimed at all the people such as myself that have no intention of renewing our S/T until the club is finally rid of the Venkys and all their allies. I have discussed and explained my position on that many many times over the last 18 months, but seeing as you dont appear to have read any of these posts on any of the threads I will repeat especially for your benefit.

I have not attended any Rovers matches at Ewood since the 2nd home match last season when it became clear to me that the lessons of the previous season and just escaping relegation on the last day at Wolves had not been learned by Kean or indeed anyone in any position of authority at the club. ALL the previous failings since Kean replaced Allardyce were still there and that was enough for me. I will have no more of it until they are ALL gone and the club is re-born as the actual Blackburn Rovers and not as it is now..... Venkys Rovers.

In the light of that resolution made 10 months ago it is quite plain to see that I will not be attending the match you queried as I will not be attending any matches at all until the liberation and rebirth of the club has actually happened. There now I think that answers your original question. And as far as your misunderstanding of my post that you got so prickly about, I was NOT in any way whatever having a cheap shot at you or any one else.

Perhaps you should learn to read what is written and understand it, and also not be so prickly and and imagine that people are having a go at you?

For what its worth, I would not accept Kean in any circumstances. All the "wot ifs" in the world won't tempt me. What you are proffering is, in any case, totally off the radar. He is never going to be successful except in terms of creating relative wealth for himself.

He's never going to be honest either for that matter. Same goes for Venkys--too late.

Absolutely right 47er, That is my position also. Anyone that can even consider Kean suddenly miraculously becoming ANY sort of a football manager is at best deluded, and there is no other acceptable option for me except his complete removal and hopefully all the other problem people as well. Get them ALL out and lets rebuild the real Blackburn Rovers.

May not be in agreement over the renewal issue, but totally agree on this post!

Thank you. I understood that you would not attend, and as Den before you acknowledged missing big games was a sacrifice. You have your principles and that is to be respected. I am sure that others will stick their guns too, but will all (as Stuart questions)?

I also think there will inevitably be those who demand tickets for some fixtures when they don't meet whatever criteria is laid down. It is very easy to see comments such as "I was here long before Venkys so its only right I should get a ticket for XXX even thought I've not bought anything else this year" etc appearing on here. This standpoint may be right or it may be wrong, but will non-buyers have objections to be excluded or not? It's all very well some fans saying they will go to every away match, but if being a s/t holder is the determining factor in some sales this might not be possible.

Perhaps I raised the questions too early. Even the Burnley scenario won't really be so focussed until the fixtures are out.

So thank you for your honest view, but I would say that your original "what are you on?" was not a constructive input into the debate. It wouldn't have been if you were 16 or 76. The part of my original question -"however unlikely" - perhaps suggests that you also should learn to read what is written and understand it.

OK, let's all agree on one thing, we want a change of ownership. However, the truth is that could also include a completely different approach from the current owners so we shouldn't discount that (although that has to be highly unlikely given the apparent dominance of Mrs Desai).

We do need that change to be positive, heaven help us if the Indians find a bigger set of cowboys to get rid of Rovers to.

That is why I am fully committed, monetarily and by effort, to BRSIT. I also believe that whilst it may take time for Venkys to decide to sell that we should use that opportunity to continue to build a realistic fan bid.

In the meantime I will continue to watch the Rovers, unlike some who have declared total war on Venkys I believe that the only time they will sell is if they can do so without severe loss of face. The more overt pressure seems to pull out the more perverse stubborn attitude from Pune.

I think that the plummeting attendance will be attributed to relegation, we need to find additional ways to change the way the club is being run. BRSIT has been backed by all the supporters groups and all the local MPs. As it gains credibility so do the fans voices.

I think you are the one who needs to do some growing up, including treating a 76 year old with more respect.

In addition, you are apparently going to fret about the hypocrisy of some who will boycott Ewood but demand a ticket to Turf Moor. I doubt that will happen but I couldn't care less anyway.

I'm as sure as I can be that there will be a whole lot more to worry about than that!

Steady on there fella.

One of the great things about a messageboards is that it is a level playing field. Age, gender, race, etc are irrelevant to how people's opinions should be debated. General abuse should not be toleratated but let's not patronise people or temper our opinions because of their age!

Besides, for all you know, BRB could be 86... ;)

Telling anyone of any adult age to grow up is patronizing isn't it?

And if Beta is 86 he's surely got more to worry about than any mythically unfair allocation of Turd tickets!

Heat of the moment stuff.

I don't know, he still manages to post very eloquently on here so he must have all of his faculties.

 You've got me at it now, he's probably not 40 yet!

And asking me "what am on?" is perfectly reasonable? Especially as I qualified the original question as being unlikely anyway!

But hey ho, each to their own. If it's no longer possible to ask any question on here without getting criticised for daring to do, it's probably time to call it a day.

Simmer down children. Not a time for storms in teacups. :tu:

A sligthly more pertinent question might be: if Kean is made DOF and Colin Hendry (e.g.) is made Head Coach, would people still stay away?

In light of reports of Hendry's recent behaviour then definitely.

It's obvious that Kean thinks we are all daft and that blind loyalty to the blue and white halves is a gimme, and with a few people still buying ST's why wouldn't he? imo Kean / Agnew simply see getting Hendry on board as good PR for their regime. A sot for the masses representing the Spirit of 95 and all that. Doubtless they'd prefer Alan Shearer but he'd wouldn't come near for a Kings ransom and as Hendry has apparently gambled away his wordly wealth will again represent the (very) cheap option.

The one thing which is now impossible is for the current ownership to change tack and win back the supporters.

Impossible is never the case, likelihood? In my opinion tending to zero but nothing is impossible particularly when you're talking about the disparate opinions of thousands of fans.

To do that Venkys need a change faster and more impressive than Clark Kent in a telephone booth! But impossible? Let's stick at highly unlikely.

Let me just clear this thing up before it gets out of hand.

When I read BRB's original post and replied as I did the main intention for me was to emphasise that his postulated fear that at least some of the "stay away" fans would somehow lament the fact that they would not be able to buy tickets for the Turf Moor match was for me not a problem and would not alter my stance in any way at all.

The problem seems to lie in my reply to his next two hypothetical scenarios which I thought I was dismissing in a jocular manner (obviously wrongly in this case) as BRB has taken offence at my choice of words. Therefore in the circumstances I do offer my sincere appologies, and accept that I should have used the smilies to make clear it was meant as a jocular remark. People do it all the time on this MB and regularly use "what are on" in reply to things they have seen, and i have always understood that this is the modern way of friendly dismissal of whatever is proposed.

However if it has offended you BRB then I am truly sorry. I hope that clears this unfortunate episode up now.
