thebigguy Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 You could fight it legally and you would probably win because you was given a offer for a product which stated order between/before a given date and price. Some people accepted so they will get given the stated product at that price and rovers shouldn't be able to increase this price for early bird as it is probably past a cooling of period which would of come to a end by now. Nothing to stop them increasing price for next phase as it will count as a new offer for the service.

Rover_Shaun Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Are people still giving credence to this rumour? It's right up there with the Scottish gangster one
Mike Graham Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 So, the announcement from BRFC was due this week on how much they are going to fleece you for ST's. More like the sound of silence!
winstonsmith Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 There's nothing in the terms and conditions (that I can see) that means they can increase the price of a season ticket after they've sold it to you. One Rover - Terms and Conditions What about Clause 1.4, Stuart ? "If we discover an error in the price or nature of the ticket you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible, and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price/specification or cancelling it". Desai could argue that the original price quoted was an error made by the fools in Blackburn. Such an argument probably wouldn't stand up in Court but would you put it past her not to try it on ?
Amo Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Does this mean we'll see a follow-up to Dunn's 'Early Bird' video?

One Rover - Terms and Conditions Forget that. imo it's a question of whether a binding contract has been formed under the 'offer and acceptance' conditions of the Sale of Goods Act. The BRFC early bird was an offer made by the club or agents working on behalf the club to the individual supporter. Once the offer has been accepted and unless there is a counter offer the deal is done.
Rover_Shaun Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 So I take it the answer is yes. People are believing this silly rumour?
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Not sure its that people really believe it (at least I hope not!) as it is 1% more interesting to discuss its possibility and get some anti-Venky digs in as it is to sit here in silence. The "something will happen if you cancel your direct debit" argument is total nonsense as well.

I would say disregard them terms and conditions as being part of on-line sale only as these terms and conditions are not part of the physical pack and do not have part 1.4 within them. EwoodDawn Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Does this mean we'll see a follow-up to Dunn's 'Early Bird' video? A voicemail from Bradley Orr? Can you imagine how many people would get into trouble for inadvertently blaspheming in inappropriate places?
McClarky Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 In normal circumstances it would be hard to believe that anyone would believe a rumour as ridiculous as this but it's a reflection of how badly managed we have been that it doesn't actually sound as crazy as it should. I think some people are concocting scaremongering stories in the boozer and then just spreading them round trying to create even more disatisfaction than there is already. It doesn't help does it?
ABBEY Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 That's why I posted mcclarky . It seemed so far fetched but it wouldn't be surprising if the lunes from Pune tried it.
SergioPeter89 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Season tickets are back on sale. Extended "Early bird-offer" until 10th july.
Guest SuperAgentJB Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10303~2815130,00.html It's hard to slate the owners for pricing schemes. To be fair, for all the idiotic things they have done - Hike season tickets is something they have avoided for 2 years now. I am certain that this cannot and will not go on forever. How can club like ours pay its bills when it costs more to watch Accrington Stanley?
rog of the rovers Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Half season tickets may be an answer for many, particularly if Kean has finally been sacked by then and given the second half of the season's home fixtures. 'Big' games against Burnley, Blackpool and Leeds, as well as 'winnable' home games against Crystal Palace, Huddersfield, Peterborough, Bristol City, Charlton, and Forest

The idea is you lower the prices to get proportionately more bums on seats and more associated matchday revenue than you would otherwise. Of course, it helps if you do not run your club in the style of the Ronald Reagan Home for teh Criminally Insane, otherwise you might find that the inelastic demand suddenly becomes very elastic and zips all teh way to Pune town and spanks your ass.
Backroom DE. Posted June 18, 2012 Backroom Posted June 18, 2012 So what was the point in telling everyone the early bird offer would definitely end on 30th april and there was no chance of it being extended? More lies from our owners to the fans.
davulsukur Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 My guess is the amount of people who have returned tickets has caused alarm and now they are trying to get more fans back in who haven't renewed.
Mattyblue Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 'the offer that has proven popular with fans' the Ministry of Mis-Truth strikes again
Backroom DE. Posted June 18, 2012 Backroom Posted June 18, 2012 Let's face it, they can't hike tickets prices up and expect to sell any more. Their only realistic choice is to stick with the early bird offer and hope there are some people out there still on the fence who may have been regretting not getting a ticket whilst the prices were low. Any die-hard who was going to get a ticket no matter what would have done so in April. The people left are those unsure or rebelling against the club - neither of whom are going to buy tickets that have increased in price.
ABBEY Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Seriously Matty ? Have they said that ? Has mr grooby been keaned?
rovers11 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 More incompetence. Clearly didn't know what to do regarding season tickets so just put them back on sale at same price as they were before. Don't know why anyone would want to go next season. The fans have been screwed over by the owners so why should they fund their regime?!
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 My guess is the amount of people who have returned tickets has caused alarm and now they are trying to get more fans back in who haven't renewed. That would be my guess as well, ticket sales must be really bad for them to put the 'early bird' offer back on.
arbitro Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 It would be intersting to know who made the decision to extend he offer some six weeks after the first deadline had passed. I didn't think there was anybody left at Ewood with that kind of authority. What makes them think that any fans with the resolve not to buy them in the first place will do so now. Is it their twisted logic that this is announced on the day that next seasons fixtures are released, maybe to try and whet our appetites?
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 That would be my guess as well, ticket sales must be really bad for them to put the 'early bird' offer back on. All they need to do is follow by stating that Kean is to be replaced and then some people might actually buy them.
