Why can you?? Dann is crap, so I hope your right.....but Givet has already gone public and said he would be willing to stay on new terms.....of which Kamy has confirmed the club plan to discuss with him.

I'll be astounded if Givet wants to stay on any terms with Kean still in charge.

only around 370 season tickets have been sold in the darwen end....

wonder what that figure would be if they were on sale since the 'early bird' started again?... and how is that figure comparable to other parts of the stadium?

I wonder how AGGY and SHAGGY are getting on attracting the "corporate £" to Ewood. I had a quick look on the Rovers official bull website and they still have to announce the corporate package for the coming season which starts in about 8 weeks time.

We havent even got a club sponsor yet have we ? Has the new away kit been released ? Does anyone really know what is happening at the club ?

Has anyone else been contacted as regards the reasons why they havent renewed their season tickets ?

The LT said yesterday, that it is likely we will continue with the Princes trust logo next season.

I think you're wrong, 'look better on television'... where does that logic come from? IF (and they don't) they cared about how it looks from TV then having the riverside shown with the people walking out 10 minutes from the end is not the greatest advertisement.

From the Riverside you can see just as many people slinking out of the Blackburn End. Only difference is a Blackburneder can scuttle down the tunnel like a cowardly thief in the night whereas a Riversider who's silly enough to leave early has to do a long walk in full view

Not totally accurate. Riversiders can leave at the back. Unfortunately most choose to see the final minutes of the game whilst walking out and in doing so blocking the views of the people on the front row and the people in wheelchairs. Ignorant is about the most accurate adjective to use to describe them.

So NO sponsor again, is any other club in the 4 leagues, and the Blue Square in a similar position?

But in no way is early leaving a Riverside phenomenon. The Rovers Fans in the supposed 'hardcore' stand have just as many

Having worked in commercial departments at football clubs I can confidently state that obtaining club sponsors, shirt sponsors, ball sponsors, programme sponsors, concourse advertising, perimiter board advertising and also promoting and selling corporate deals / hospitality are of major priority for commercial departments mid-season. In addition to establishing the myriad of contra deals that football clubs can generate with local trades, businesses and organisations.

Rest assured this is not an easy task after relegation as the local public / fans do not wish to talk football and there is little positive to say when introducing the new deals. A tough sell indeed.

The club sponsorship is normally the most valuable of these deals as others attach themselves to the brand. I find it very strange that so little interest is seemingly placed upon generating funds in this way for the football club. I find it confusing and counter productive that long-standing customers / supporters in these profit centres have been marginalised. I have never come across a situation like this before and cannot understand the logic of not hitting targets and achieving budgets across the commercials activities of the club.

Unless the commercial staff are lucky enough not to be targeted or in fact asked to work to budgetary constraints.

Or maybe commercial staff are working feverishly to introduce and sell the packages but take up rates are non-existant? Prices across the board will have been reduced and other clubs at this level find suitable companies willing to invest so it is hard to believe that either.

Maybe this is the least of the Venky's worries, but MD's and FD's at other clubs place huge import on the funds generated by respective commercial departments and you can only guess at why our club are seemingly not interested.

Most clubs enjoy early season ticket renewals as well assisting with cashflow over the barren summer.

I guess the Venky's know best and soon all other clubs may follow this model.....

I agree with you OOJW. Cash flow is vital and yet this vital and baic atea of business practice is being ignored which is borne out by the lack of corporate hospitality or sponsorship opportunities on the rovers official website; all they say is "coming soon" which is the Coco Kean approach to life.

Even the Rovers "Trading Places" draw participants have been deserting in droves which is a pity as this is a charity and monies go towards activities with kids etc rather than in the clutches of our nasty toxic owners.

Maybe this is another topic for the Lancs Telegraph to pick up.....can anyone forward to a contact at that said rag please?

I appreciate the owners are absolutely minted, cash-flow may not be an issue and they may scoff at the money generated by the combined efforts of those in the Rovers commercial department. But it all seems a bit off colour to me. I know of few businesses that disgard profitable areas of their business without very good reason.

I presume that employed staff would still like to perform and show good value for salaries received and those in sales, promotion and marketing roles must know a bit about how to generate customers and finances for the club. Maybe their hands are tied? Maybe product prices have not been agreed and cannot therefore be marketed which seems likely.

Maybe things will improve now the club secretary has been replaced, but in my experience the club secretary is involved in administering the requirements of the business professionally, not cold calling prospective new customers offering cut price perimiter boards!

The actual original early birders must be well hacked off. (even though you shouldn't have bought one)

U think they would have understood what they needed to do to get us to buy season tickets again. Extending offers is not it.

The recent flurry of positive transfer activity was starting to make me doubt my decision not to buy a season ticket.

Then I saw the immortal words from Kean "It's a fresh challenge and we're building a squad that is moving forward and progressive". And I thought "same bull, just a different division" - need to hold firm. Unlike many I am prepared to go back to Ewood even if the Venky's are still our owners - but Kean remains a bridge too far.
