Don't see how the prices are relevant.

They were relevant under Allardyce when fans used to turn up and moan about the style of play because paying £10 to see your team win most of the time at home somehow wasn't good enough. I used to bring the prices up in every argument with a moaner back then.

But the reasons people aren't going now are the dismantling of the club by a bunch of crooks, and the stupidity and greedy contempt of a drink-driving prat of a manager. The way I see it, going to games is allowing these bar stewards to humiliate and laugh at my dedication to what they've transformed into their own sick masquerade. They couldn't charge me 2p to go and join in with that.

As I said in my original post, I posted this out of interest sakes not a reflection on any Venky stance pro or negative. It was not an attempt to try and persuade people to buy.

All that happened was I found an old application form down the back of a set of drawers when rearranging my back bedroom. I thought a comparison was interesting. I didn't want to start a separate thread as there was one called "season ticket prices" already.

The Huddersfield comparison was again to me interesting, as they've doubled their prices in just over a decade, and their range of prices far wider than at Ewood when the facilities are generally poorer. Town is particularly relevant as a few years ago they reduced prices for their centenary season, and obviously we had a big price reduction a few years back as well.

Don't personally care how much more people would pay to be rid of Venkys, that wasn't the point of the comparison.

In summer 2010, Simon Williams wrote a letter in which he described the response to that decision -

"Support levels - numbers and decibels- have been magnificent this season, in helping Rovers to record one of the most impressive home records in the land. The heartlands of the Riverside and Walkersteel Blackburn End completely sold out and increased home support in the WEC Group Darwen End has been vibrant and relentless in its enthusiasm and backing for Sam and the team.

With a ST total approaching 19,500 (on a par with the heady heights of 95/96), the average attendance at Ewood this season (approaching 25,500) is the best for years......we are determined to keep growing our fanbase and provide the team the best support possible".

The days not that long ago when you were proud to say you supported Rovers. You were proud that people like John Williams were running a tight but well run and respected club...we were ALL in it together pulling in the right direction.

Look at us now.....

Rovers fans you are in for one hell of a week nxt week! A busy day for me tmrw as well me thinks

I wouldn't call myself optimistic for the new season obviously but I'm strangely looking forward to seeing what happens.....at the moment that is, I imagine after a while it will be like last season and I just want it over with.

I think more transfers. I imagine if he was getting sacked it would go something along the lines of "Rovers fans may just get their wish after all" or something like that.

I don't think it is mostly negative either. Like I doubt it will be because of a bunch of transfer requests or something. At least I hope not.

Price is irrelevant. I've paid £400 to watch Rovers in the past without blinking. I always filled in my renewal and posted it without even looking at the price but if someone knocked on the door tomorrow and GAVE ME a season ticket I still would not accept it.

That point seems to be lost on some posters on here... :glare:

If you are a GENUINE rovers supporter and not a glory hunter you will go down to ewood park with or without a season ticket and support the team.

Staying away this season will lend weight to the opinion that rovers fans are fickle and do not support them through thick and thin.

The spectacle of a less than halffull stadium with plenty of away support will look and feel dreadful.

The ownership of the club and the manager for that matter are historically here today gone tomorrow. The genuine fans attend through thick and thin and always

have done. Nobody likes the raos or keans but supporting the team is above all that, with all our history behind us to bind us together. RTID.

Don't talk stupid. You wrote the exact same thing about a week ago

If people feel they are doing the best for the club by boycotting, fair play to them. Alternatively if they feel being at the ground is the right thing to do, ditto.

I don't give a feck what the rest of footballt think after they slaughtered us last season, and neither should you.

Very poor attitude, you let us all down with this type of comment. Only the genuine fan or guardians of the club along with the protestors should be the ones watching Rovers this season, until Kean is removed and a proper manager is appointed, then and only then can the rest of us can come back on board.

The stay aways make their sacrifice now and have to do so purely for the good of the clubs future.

Absolute and utter load of tripe, it is so easy to stay away, like looking the other way when someone is getting beaten up.

If you are a proper rovers fan you will be at the ground with the rest of us. Born and bred in blackburn no way are we turning our back on the team. RTID.

You may bend over and take it from Kean and all his little bumboys, but I certainly will not, also when the slimey little toad uses your support to justify his position and what wor trying to achieve I hope you feel proud.

Right, read what I'm saying.

Supporting a club is about doing what you can to make it flourish and improve, as a fan you want the best for it at all times.

Now normally you are quite right, you achieve this by getting to the ground and 'getting behind t'lads'.

However, times are different and they feel doing the best for the club is by boycotting- as they feel it will benefit the club if it results in the departure of Kean and his cronies.

It doesn't sound 'fickle' or 'half hearted' to me, they are not saying 'feck it, I'm not watching the Championship'.

Wasting my energy typing this as the 'just get behind the lads ffs' crew just don't get it.
