'a cheap shot'???? You were told and better told at the time but you knew best didn't you Gav. Despite the obvious differences in performance and results which you were actually witnessing at the time between him and Ince you still had Allardyce down as the Anti Christ. The only consolation from which you may take some comfort from (scant though it is) was that you weren't on your own.

I couldn't careless to be honest to be honest Gordon, and I'm not going to derail this thread by once again putting you to the sword, lets keep it to season tickets should we.

If you like. Only I doubt anybody on here will place great store in anything you might come out with.

Every penny into the club is endorsing the Rao's and Kean's shambolic, corrupt tenure so far IMO.

I can't be a part of that.

Nice and succinct, exactly how I feel. I don't know how anybody can feel any different.

+1 and some.

There is no right or wrong way about this, everybody has to do what they think is right and just hope this doesn't go on too much longer. :(

You used to be a decent poster, I enjoyed ignoring most of your posts, but you did come out with some gems from time to time. Now you seem content to follow people around the site and point out apparent failings, rather than add substance and conjecture to the argument, pity really as far as I’m concerned.

Can we not have the old Gordon back please?

Why don’t we move over to the restaurant thread and be nice to each other, or the real ale thread?

Just to keep things on topic, me and Gordon will NOT be buying season tickets until things change for the better, we'll be busy eating in local restaurants and drinking real ale.

I am almost certain in fact I am damned positive that should KEANSCUM leave I will be on the phone immeidately to renew my ticket. I honestly have not missed the build up to the fixtures, the pre season build up, run up to away friendly games. In fact, I cant even be bothered to go on Saturday even though I am on nights all week I would never have given it a second thought in previous years, in bed from 6am up for the match by 12.

KEANSCUM has ensured its different now, I really cant be bothered.

There is the possibility that Kean and Venky's will be around for a long time, possibly 5 or 10 years or more, so it could well be that you have seen Rovers play for the last time because I can guarantee that in th meantime you will find other things to occupy your time and will have lost interest in watching football by the time they do depart.

My opinion goes along the lines of the bigger the gaps on the terraces, the more chance there is of selling on.An empty ground would only serve to put more pressure on them - and that's something that hasn't happened yet [empty ground].

I don't accept for one minute that attendances will have no effect on the Roas existence here. The truth to me, is more along the lines that not enough people are prepared to make a stand.

What makes you think anyone cares whether it will work or not? Whether it does or doesn't, many fans wont support people who they think aren't working in the best interests of the football club.

Simple as that really.

You did actually with your previous 2 impassioned posts!

So which is it? Staying away is a carefully crafted strategy to drive the owners out or a personal reluctance to give the owners a penny of one's own money? The latter I completely understand, the former I don't.

They're not impassioned posts at all EIT.

It is quite simple. I'm convinced that an empty Ewood would force the Raos to sell. That's just a viewpoint in response to people who say that fans staying away wont make any difference. If I believe that, then it follows that I must also think it's a shames that people aren't prepared to do that. Personally I'm not staying away as a protest as such, because that would be futile but at the moment I wont support the Raos in their destruction of the club.

At the same time, I and many others really don't care too much either way because people are entitled to, and will do whatever they like. No problem.

If that was so Jim , there will be no club left to mis-manage !

I'm not going to Venky FC because of many reasons.

a) Going is supporting their decision to keep Kean

B) Going is supporting Venkys. A big thumbs up

c) I cannot support Kean

d) I cannot support Venkys

e) Kean and his dire, clueless football has killed the matchday experience

f) It no longer feels like my club

g).........etc etc etc

Oh really Jim?? Perhaps you can tell me then just how long it is going to take for me to become aneasthetised? I have already missed out on attending for all but the first two matches of last season, but even so the pain and longing is not just still there, but is getting very much stronger and more unbearable with every passing day. So just how long will it be Jim before I find peace and lose all interest in my beloved Rovers? Come on now you must have something to back-up your prediction, so let's all hear it.

It's based on the actions on people in the 1960s after the Wembley final tickets scandal. Many vowed never to set foot in Ewood again and they never did - they found other things to do with their time. I enjoy watching Rovers and I enjoy watching football which is why I would never cut myself off from the club in that way much as I despise the owners and the manager for what they have done to the club. As I said, Venky's could be here for a very long time and as I assume like me you are not in the first flush of youth your stance means you might have to accept you will never see Rovers play again.

Rovers seemingly getting beat 4 1 by. Macclesfield at moment. No nzonzi ollson robbo or simon

Frightening thing is, if only the above missing, we have all our defenders there, we shouldnt be shipping four goals to a conference team, even with the ressies in!!

Has anybody heard how many STs have been sold?

A good friend of mine (who spends a lot of time around Ewood & IS a ST holder) says he spoke to somebody within the club just over a week ago.

He asked the season ticket question.....& got told staff have been instructed NOT to discuss it.

He later got (unofficially) told it was only around the 4k mark.

That bit is something that I thought through very thoroughly Jim when I first considered making this stance, so I am well aware of the possible consequences for me personally. However my problem is with your general drift as stated on here a number of times i.e. "people will simply find other things to do" and thus presumably will lose all interest in the Rovers.......That will not, and has not happened to me, and I believe that it will not happen to any great extent amongst the many truly dedicated Rovers fans that are boycotting in protest at the stewardship of the Venkys and all that it entails.

Whilst your oft-quoted remarks about the stay-aways after the 1960 Cup Final debacle is true to the extent that Rovers did lose several thousand fans permanently on that occasion, I was certainly not one of them although I was like most people very angry at the time, and I did know a few people personally that took that stance for varying periods of time, but most (not all) that I knew did drift back after varying periods. But in this case there was another factor that effected large numbers of fans in the years 1960 to '66, and that was the way the club was run with the sale of several star players and poor quality replacements, which led inevitably to relegation in 1966. So you see Jim there were quite a lot of mitigating factors that led to people getting permanently fed-up and losing the habit, but having said that it was a very trying period for many long term Rovers fans (self included) and by no means all chose to desert permanently. There was a far bigger reduction in attendances over the next 28 years as Rovers declined further and further until of couse Jack Walker came in and the club was re-born, and attendances with it.

Its very much a guessing game Cletus, I was told weeks ago the figure was over 5000, that was before the early bird stopped for the first time, make of that what you will.

I haven't yet seen a claim your own seat deadline (though may have missed it). I think the club officials must be very worried at this moment, barring those in India or north-enders.

Its the same date as the price freeze is....

Those who were on the fans forum with Shebby last night, should know the official figure now - so any update so we can end the myth?!
