Renewed- love going to the football, it's so much more than the 90 minutes of action for me. I understand why people want to boycott and all that, but my only issue is- if people think it will make a difference (non-renewal) I'm yet to be convinced of this- the owners have shown time and again since buying the club- they don't care about the views of the fans....

It'll make a difference to me though - I'll know I'm not giving them my money to carry on regardless. may not be significant at the moment but it will get bigger as time goes on. will also make a difference to my health and well being - I got so wound up last year it really wasn't good for my stress levels. I know Venkys don't care. I know that change will most probably not come from my boycotting. But it still feels right to me and to many others.

So I got my confirmation letter through yesterday finally. It says Burnley, Blackpool, Leeds and Sheff Weds aren't included in the Darwen End offer, are we giving them simpletons from down the road the full Darwen End? Stupidity if so!

It doesn't mean they are getting the whole Darwen End.

It just means those games are not included in the 19 game ST offer, maybe you will be able to purchase seperate match tickets in the Darwen End for those games?

It'd make a difference if everyone did it. Just as carbon reduction would make a difference to the environment if everyone did it. In both cases thats currently very unlikely to happen, but you'd like to think its not impossible at some point. The greenies shouldn't give up on saving the planet cause not everyones doing it, and I don't think the non-renewers should give up on saving the club for the same reason.

Whether the club can be saved by other means is open to question, but for those expecting Venkys to see sense or for this league to be more of a favourable climate for their madness, get ready. I can see us finishing mid-table/bottom-half this season and going down again within 3 years if nothing changes.

They'll give those 4 the whole DE, without a doubt

The reduction in crowd numbers will make a difference. Not only will ticket sales be down but associated commercial income will be down making a total of around at least £1M to £2M or more. Add to an overall massive reduction in income (even with parachute payments), player wages, agents fees etc the club will be a liability to Venkys not an asset.

Venkys bought Rovers to promote their business. There is absolutely no commercial value in Rovers to Venkys. A small town club in the Chumpionship has no national UK exposure (for example how many times did you see Burnley mentioned in the national media) never mind exposure in Asia or South America. The Asian and South American markets are already controlled by the big four or five.

When the penny finally drops then the Venkys will see how pointless it is holding onto Rovers. There will be no commercial sense in continuing ownership. Yes they will ask a high price intially but as the need to dispose increases as the parachute payments fall the price will start falling.

The biggest worry is what state will we be in at that point. With Kean in charge there is only on way we are heading.

Of course the above is based on commercial reasons and good business sense. There may be other reasons why they are not selling..

Yes, its a bit like a marriage/partnership, its a two way thing, love, be it between two people or a football club is a two way thing, when one party decides not to care about the other, in most cases it ends in a break up of the relationship. There is only so much people can take, supporters who loved the club and felt a 'belonging' to Rovers, now dont have that affinity because the owners and management dont care two hoots about supporters and this has contributed greatly to where we are now, us and them, Brian Kidd made one remark in his unfortunate tenure at Rovers which stood out for me because its the way it should be, he said 'its not about me and you, its about we and us' and thats how the owners should look at the situation by asking, how do we unite the owners, management, players and supporters, we all know the answers but they ignore us and have now totally divided supporters with the rest of the club, there is no 'belonging' and we as supporters have now been alienated from the club we once felt so proud of and loved!

Spot on - many, many feel the same.

None of those will fill the DE

Burnley will.

Yeah, people's ST's are still reserved yet so expect to see a lot more empty spaces after 1st Aug!

You are right.

Come 1 August, they will have to make tickets available for the first home matches. Look again when this happens !

Good thing about them having the whole Darwen End is that it may mean we get the whole Away end at DingleDome this time!

Way things are, doubt we would fill it !

Baffled by the amount of posts on this thread saying they're renewing because they "love the football" or can't think of anything better to do on a saturday afternoon. A lot of closet masochists posting here it seems, as I can't think of anything worse than being forced to watch Rovers get battered every week as a bunch of no-mark journeymen from Portugal and Malaysia masquerade in the blue and white halves with the single worst manager ever to darken the doors of Ewood standing on the touchline with his hands in his pockets, licking his lips as the floodlights reflect off his pale bald scalp.

Sign me up.

Just looked online to gauge were tickets have been sold,

Blackburn End lower tier looking good, only real seats not bought are near front, or singles,

Darwen End has also sold well, although confusing that online you can only buy a £165 ticket, and not the £225 ticket most have already purchased

Roverside, is highly populated in centre but then there are seats everywhere from centre outwards unpurchased

Jack Walker stand, is really bad, not many tickets gone in here at all.

The figure if just under 8000 was quoted last week which is just 25% of the ground to put it into perspective, and when its spread out as it is, its gonna look dead

As I have said before the Riversiders need to transfer to the upper outer JW stand where they are not visible to the cameras and the view is 10x better. That really would be effective. Unfortunately Riversiders in their hush puppies, trilbies and beige clothes never were the most revolutionary souls were they?

got another earlybird reminder today, needless to say it went straight into the trash

I got one of them. The trio of Murphy, Best and that Portuguese chap (you know that one I wouldn't have minded us signing about 12 years ago) were on it. Either they were trying for the moody luck or they have already got sick of the B/S. There might a be a third option, maybe they have realised how much of their wages are going go to their agents? Possible fourth option could be that they are reflecting the mood of the fans - no smiles. Or maybe as a fifth option they have realised what a grim season it is going to be.

Hmm. Not sure this piece of advertising has worked on me, TBH.

Of course , Venkys may not be the real owners !!!! Just fronting it for someone else ...

Just a thought and maybe that is the real reason Kean is still the manager !
