  1. 1. So stay up or go down should we keep Super Steve 'Coco' Kean at the helm for next season??

    • Keep - But only if we stay up
    • Keep - Even if relegated
    • Sack - But only if we go down
    • Sack - Even if we stay up
    • Just like a puppet I have no opinion

Roll up.roll up.Here's another one:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/mar/31/blackburn-steve-kean-indignity?

A bit of balance but we are painted as red-necks.

When I saw the headline in the paper earlier I feared that I was about to read more of the mystifying pro-Kean gibberish that has punctuated the media in recent months. Fortunately, it's a far more balanced piece than anything written about Kean in the mainstream press during that time (the Guardian included). Danel Taylor has at least done some research, referring to Kean's horrendous record and his intrinsic involvement in the chaos at the club.

There are a number of issues I still take umbrage with however:

1. Kean may have 27 years' worth of experience in football however at no point in that time has any club (the Venky's circus aside) seen fit to over-promote him. The results of such over-promotion are clear from the terrible record cited in the article.

2. The press still seem to be operating on the premise that Kean has suffered abuse above and beyond anything ever before seen in football. That is simply a fallacy. Terrible managers will always be subject to disquiet from the stands, whether one likes it or not. Nothing occurring at Blackburn Rovers this season is any different to what has happened, and will always happen, when a club struggles under the weight of incompetent management and craven ownership.

3. Kean's 'bodyguard' is in fact the driver required to ferry him about the country due to a driving ban, the circumstances of which he attempted to blame - in open court - on supporters of Blackburn Rovers.

4. In spite of his long-standing and woeful performance as manager - relegation remains a likelihood after all - it is blatantly apparent to all observers that the man is in no danger whatsoever of being sacked. What is construed as dignified and non-reactive is surely instead behaviour indicative of a level of comfort and serenity that comes with the knowledge that you're going nowhere.

5. No mention of Kean and his unpleasant agent's disgraceful PR campaign against the club's supporters. Even yesterday the Daily Heil recycled the old story about Kean, his trusty 'bodyguard' and the evil Blackburn neanderthals who just don't get "what we're trying to do here" (to borrow a phrase from SK). The early excuses are mounting. When we lose to United later and, most likely, succumb to relegation it will be the supporters who are blamed, not the man actually responsible for the team's performance.

So...on the heels of Vuckovic,Salgado etc etc...and the great Observer article(cos its 85% factual)

QUESTION: "Mr Kean...we hear that Grella may be fit sometime this decade for the 1st team - will this trigger extra payments?

Have you the budget to play him? "

COYB. This is still not as bad as the Jim Iley era.

And the reason for a rehash of the bodyguard story is???

The Mail have already covered it previously.

Big game on TV with a lot of stake for both sides - Keano et al trying to get the sympathy vote again to cloud over what a Shiit manager & slimey rat he is.

Lies, lies, lies.

I've just sent a few choice tweets to the 'journalist', I'm ashamed of those running this football 'club', truly ashamed.

How low can football fans go?

I sense an Agnew planted story.

If you are reading this, feck off back to PNE, they could do with someone with your undoubted PR skills at the minute.

The accuracy of the report can be summed up in the headline. They can't even spell Kean's name right.

They recycle the same story every few weeks. It will be out again in May when we get relegated and cited as one of the reasons why we were relegated.

Kean must be pretty important if Mr Moulton has to guard him personally. Eitherr that or he is the only employee in his security firm. I wonder if he sleeps in Kean's spare room in case someone breaks into his house.

An activist group?

I wonder if Kean, Agnew et al are trying to create as much ill feeling as possible in the hope that it will spark further protests - maybe even unruly ones. They must be so disappointed that there hasn't been one incident, let alone arrest, throughout the whole peaceful protest campaign. Protests which have included women, children and pensioners - yet he would have the news reading population believe that we are all mindless thugs. They should be charged with incitement.

For me, they know the game is up and are now hoping for someone to blame when it all goes tango uniform.

Unfortunately I have to agree, Stuart. The close proximity of Fergy's comments, Kean's 'sorry letters' drivel plus the reappearance of the bodyguard stuff leads me to suspect an orchestrated plan timed with precision before the Man U fixture. It's a very cunning way of deflecting attention away from Coco's failings and onto the 'bad' fans. And to me I'd even say that there's an almost a bloodthirsty aspect to the way some journalists are lapping up the Blackburn fan bashing.

I honestly cannot remember a story being recycled by the popular press as often as this one. It has to be orchestrated and I think we know who's responsible.

I'd say 'shame on the Mail' but we know it hasn't any.

Kean is always dragging his wife and family into this yet it is well known they live in Surrey (a sackable offence in itself) . Now I might be wrong here but I doubt Mrs Kean has been to Ewood or Blackburn many times (if at all) and certainly not to dine with her beloved hubby so where was this mythical restaurant and why with his unpopularity in the town would he take the risk ? The story smacks of another Kean fabrication and given an airing again in a paper (sic) that for some reason always supports him. Two lessons from this : 1) it's another reason not to buy the Daily Sieg Heil 2) Kean knows the relegation noose is tightening and he's getting in his excuses early. Look out for more stories like this over the coming weeks.

I don't see why people are getting their knickers in a twist.

It's the Daily Heil, which is a complete joke.

So are papers like Sun and Mirror, yet it doesn't stop some people from taking what they read in these papers as gospel.
