Stick or Twist this summer?

  1. 1. So stay up or go down should we keep Super Steve 'Coco' Kean at the helm for next season??

    • Keep - But only if we stay up
    • Keep - Even if relegated
    • Sack - But only if we go down
    • Sack - Even if we stay up
    • Just like a puppet I have no opinion

Essentially it all boils down to everybody outside of Blackburn believing we don't really deserve to be in the premier league. Our expectations aren't (or weren't) to be in a relegation dog fight each season... but as far as everybody else is concerned as long as we're within touching distance of 17th the manager of the club is doing a fantastic job.

Exactly how it is. When we were in 10th, nobody paid any attention anyway.

We are punching above our weight on resources which are now sustainable... If we stay up then i expect the fans to be chanting Steve Keans Blue and White Army. The protesters did their bit but in actual fact if someones wants to vent their frustrations its at venkys. We like wigan have no real plethora of a fan base we cant fill our ground. Sadly there isnt a que of youngsters going our buying the latest homeshirt etc... We have to live within our means.

We were 10th under Sam but the wages had spiralled see bolton for example after Sam they had to get rid of Campo etc.

I'm sorry to see it come to this but its a sensible outlook , we are a small over achiieving limited side and our doing amaing to even be in the PL. It's time a few of our fans look back and think we've been spoilt because we have, to continue being in the top 6 etc costs money and a debt we dont need or want if we want to be here in 2018...

It's no suprise to see our youngsters doing well ahead of european players, because like Platini's new rule says you have to live within your means and basically come from your roots.

If anyone wants to protest again i suggest you do it towards Platini..

There is a correct way of doing things though and neither coco and the venkys have a clue how

To remove almost all experienced players in a year, to have a novice as manager and have no experience left in running the club, is reckless, not good business.

There is a good chance that because of this we will go down and never come back. Nobody has an issue with a gradual reduction in costs, but this has been a sucudal approach.

It isnt Keans fault who goes where etc like it wasn't Williams fault when Duff left.

I wish you'd guys see that...

Kean is doing an excellent job on limited resources, why are they that way? Because we have to be sutainable. No one wants to be in debt and that is how a football club has to react to the new rules.

By doing it as early as sunderland i.e this year we are giving ourselves a good long term future regardless of relegation because we would still be here. If you've got ten pound in your bank and you want to buy a t-shirt at 30 pound you cant because you dont have that sort of money, We can't keep borrowing and getting into debt. It's just not sustainable in the long term.

Either direct your frustrations at Platini or ask why we can't fill our ground or why we can't keep on borrowing?

So Venky's have had a plan about FFP all along? Shrewd lot.

ps Our ground is too big, it sohuld have been built as a 25000ish stadium.

Hindsight is a wonderfull thing in regards to ground building.

This is a steve kean thread, now i support him, if you dont thats fine its your opinion and quite rightly one which your entitled too.

Do you really think though your singing and dancing will miracoursly keep us up and see Kean sacked? It isn't realistic but what is, is that you get behind your team and manager through this period and after another year if we are still not imprving then have your tantrums.

We are being run as a business, if you cant see that then its your problem, but it's not Keans fault. he dosen#t make the decisions on who goes for x amounted million.

He has to work with what hes got and right now we dont have a top ten/tweleve side.

I've never heard Kean discuss this new stremalined business approach? Thought we were having our biggest summer ever last year?

Venky's have pulled the plug, they don't give one about brfc, bloody Platini's rules? I'm sure that's Desai's plan to get the right side of them!

So what your saying is effectively that your not bothered about Kean but you are about Venkys? Lads, I don't support the Venkys one bit and im sure you don't either, i support the team and the manager.

I wish we stay up, I really do it would be one hell of a fantastic achievement.

I support the players, like I will be at West Brom tomorrow, that's all Kean can ask. When I'm on brfcs, I'll slag the fool off to my heart's content.

Absolutely no chance. Your expectations are unrealistic.

We like wigan have no real plethora of a fan base we cant fill our ground. Sadly there isnt a que of youngsters going our buying the latest homeshirt etc... We have to live within our means.

Completely wide of the mark to compare us to Wigan. Wigan are a rugby town and do well to get the small gates they do. We are capable of average gates of over 25k. That's average. We often nudged into the 30s. What has caused the dwindling of numbers is Kean and his bosses.

I'm sorry to see it come to this but its a sensible outlook , we are a small over achiieving limited side and our doing amaing to even be in the PL. It always amuses me when people say we are 'over-achieving' - especially our own fans who should know better. 18 out of the 20 Premier League seasons have had Blackburn Rovers in them. At some point, that stops being over-achievement and becomes achievement - at the very least.

It's no suprise to see our youngsters doing well ahead of european players, because like Platini's new rule says you have to live within your means and basically come from your roots.

Platini's new rule book is for teams competing in Europe. We have no need to worry about that for a good while yet. We have time to work towards that.

Do: Use "PL experienced" foreign players IF they are cheaper and in parallel invest in the academy. Hell, it may not be particularly fair but the football league rules about selling young stars are now stacked in the favour of PL teams.

Don't: Do everything they can to give us the least chance of staying up - and end up on the other side of those rules.

"Kean is doing an excellent job on limited resources".

Really? I thought he had waxed over 20 million in 12 months on a right load of old tripe. 20 million + = limited resources? The only thing limited with regards to resources are the lack of them in terms of Keans footballing nouse.

Kean's supporters make me laugh. For months I was told that Vnky's were 10 times better than the trust as they were investing heavily in the squad. Now I get told to lay off Kean as he is working to meagre resources... Which is it?

Amazing how Venky's want to run the club as a business yet Season Tickets, corporate, and sponsorship sales have collapsed. And they have ensured we are on the verge of losing our biggest income- TV.

Some business plan.

So you think being involved in consecutive relegation battles (fighting relegation throughout every week of Venky's/Kean tenure) is overachieving.

Even more amazing you think Rovers will still be in existance in 2018 if Venkys remain in charge

You want to put some serious money on that Dunnfc?............

For God's sake cant you see by now that Venky's and Kean are one of the same cancer that has brought this club to its knees.Look at his record, its appalling!

So he's gone from someone you respect to a "blonde tart" based on one opinion which, I also don't agree with?

Indeed. Savage has claimed in the past to have a great affection for the club and its fans. Yet supposedly we've been made to look like morons because Kean's turned things around, despite remaining in the relegation zone, and advocating keeping Kean should we be relegated. Too right Savage loses my respect for writing such crock in his column.

Is it or me or does it feel like the media couldn't wait to put the boot in? I mean, I would kinda understand if the plaudits for Kean came pouring in once he kept us up. I wouldn't agree with it whatsoever but at least that would make some sense... I guess. But the moment we won a little breathing space, Kean's being touted for Manager of the Year and the fans are preparing to eat a large slice of humble pie. Lo and behold, two games later, normal service is resumed and we're right back in the s**t. It really does feel like they're pursuing a vendetta against the club the first moment they can.
