  1. 1. So stay up or go down should we keep Super Steve 'Coco' Kean at the helm for next season??

    • Keep - But only if we stay up
    • Keep - Even if relegated
    • Sack - But only if we go down
    • Sack - Even if we stay up
    • Just like a puppet I have no opinion

He often slagged Rovers fans off in the Lancs Evening Post in the 80's. He's a nobber.

He did say on radio lancs that he's been a Rover since the 60's, more fibs? wouldn't surprise me, I always thought he was PNE.

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean sets points target

Blackburn boss Steve Kean says Rovers must win two and draw one of their remaining four games to stand any chance of avoiding relegation.

Rovers, who have not been out of the Premier League since promotion from the Championship in 2000-01, lost a fifth straight game, beaten 3-0 at Swansea.

He basically gave the same interview on Sky, and even his best pals on the Soccer Saturday panel thought we had no chance of getting 7 points out of the next 4 games.

Far more likely we get 0.

Slightly off topic! Has anyone managed to get a comment posted on Sky Sports website? I have made loads of comments on Kean articles, and not one has ever been posted.

I sent them this back in Jan. Didn't see it myself but friends said they read quite a bit out live- once only, though.

Dear Sky Sports News,

In response to your interview of January 10th 2012 with Mr Jerome Anderson, I would very much like to address some of the statements broadcast in that discussion.

Firstly, there appeared to be an insinuation in Mr Anderson’s statements that that those fans participating in recent protests against what they consider to be the mismanagement of their football club are not “normal fans” but rather “people who say they are supporters”.

As someone who has joined some of the protests, I would like to assert that I consider myself a very normal person and have held a BRFC season ticket for nearly twenty years. Some of my friends and acquaintances from those protests have shown their loyalty to Blackburn Rovers over even longer stretches of time and in the past have spent their hard earned money travelling across Europe with their team. I cannot say that I have come across anyone on the marches or at the demonstrations who I might describe as particularly out of the ordinary.

Mr Anderson went on to question, "Are there things going on that we're not aware of? Are there groups of people who say they are supporters, but who really don't want Venky's to succeed for whatever reason, and don't want the manager to succeed?”

Personally, I have absolutely no desire whatsoever for the owners or the manager of my club to fail. As Mr Anderson himself said, “"With normal fans, all you want to do is support your manager and team.”

Indeed, that is precisely all that we have wanted to do. However, since Steve Kean became Manager in December 2010, the freefall of the team down the Premier League table has meant that we could not help but be appalled at Steve Kean’s apparent ineptitude, with just 8 wins, 13 draws and 21 losses in his 42 Premier League fixtures (equating to a paltry 33.5 points over the course of a season). Many of us feel that we were extremely fortunate to have survived relegation on the last day of the last season and that his continued employment with Blackburn Rovers will lead to relegation this May. We do not want relegation, in fact “all (we) want to do is support (a successful) manager and team.”

None of us want to have to waste our spare time on protest activities. Indeed, speaking for myself and my friends, we are not natural ‘agitator’ types and would much prefer not to be out in the cold under the glare of the media. Some of us are actually fearful of what our employers will make of it all, particularly given the criticism directed towards protesting Blackburn Rovers fans recently. However, we are terrified that our club might be relegated and are equally horrified by potential financial implications that relegation could lead to for a club like ours. In my opinion, it is that fear which has lead to the protests and nothing else. I also feel that many people in “the world of football” of which Mr Anderson spoke can actually empathise with and understand the Rovers fans’ feelings. Supporters of other football teams amongst my friends certainly understand and have shown sympathy towards me, even Burnley fans.

In the remainder of the interview, Mr Anderson defended his client, Mr Kean and his own involvement with the Venkys and transfers of BRFC’s players. In the interests of keeping this email succinct, I would ask you to spend time poring over the following website http://roverstruth.co.uk/wordpress/, which presents an alternative view. Surely in the interests of fair and unbiased journalism, you should consider both sides of the story.

I now need to devote my time to my family, who need their evening meal. In fact your reporters met me and my family at the protest outside the Brockhall training ground of BRFC. I was the mother interviewed and broadcast by SSN on December 23rd last year. I sincerely hope that you will meet and devote more air time to a wider range of articulate Blackburn Rovers fans at the protests arranged this Friday and Saturday at Ewood Park. This would help you to provide balance to Mr Anderson’s interview, so that non-Rovers supporting sports fans may be able to make their own minds up about what is happening to the football club. Blackburn Rovers fans are an eclectic mix of people, including some very well qualified and professional people who are certainly not the “idiots” referred to by a certain Sky Sports pundit.

Finally I would ask you to please read the joint statement compiled by all of the main Rovers fan websites and fan organisations, which attempts to clarify the fans' position. http://www.brfcs.co.uk/2012/01/05/a-united-statement-by-blackburn-rovers-fans/

Thank you for your time,

An extremely anxious Rovers fan.

Fat lot of good it did but I tried and I'll keep trying.

Was absolutely sickening listening to 606 last night. One "fan" called up to say Kean deserved the "upmost respect" for the way he has handled the "pressure" this season and one decent fan was shot down by Darren Fletcher for saying that the fans had been proved the SK protest were wrong. I expect that from most BBC journalists as I'm sure they are delighted to be seeing SK drag us to oblivion but what sickened me most was Savage consistently backing his media friend up when earlier in the season he was anti-Kean. I guess the job makes the man in this case. Absolute disgrace... The fans who call up and support Kean or give him any kind of credit also have blood on their hands.

Nobody likes us now and we're going down so let's make sure that things are as uncomfortable for Kean as is possible in the final games. It's the only fight left to fight...

Was out for drinks last night so not sure if mentioned already, would think so....

Everyone aware of the Agnew intervention/issues in the post match press conference? Just confirms what we knew all along.

Kean, Anderson, Agnew and Rao family - get the (Please don't use that word again) out of this club.
