AllRoverAsia Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 The big fear I have tonight is that Messers Young and Valencia will cause us huge problems in wide positions with their pace. A point would be fantastic but United will see this as a huge opportunity to gain a big advantage in the title race. The Bolton wide men tore us to shreads and Young and Valencia are better so expect lots of crosses coming into the Rovers box. Hanley better be on form and able to do 2 shifts so as to cover up Dann's shortcomings. I do expect the Yak to get one or even a couple tonight and maybe one from Hoilett too and MU are not worldbeaters so IF we defend well we are in with a chance. Expect Coco to be quiet tonight as he's been running his mouth a lot recently.
PAFELL Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 United have bug incentive to win tonight, revenge for rovers winning at OT. Chance going. 5 pts above city. Hard to see Rovers getting anything out if this match. But stranger things have happened.
Ralfinho Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 2005 was the last time we did the double over Utd. I would love us to get the statistic again tonight but I would happily settle for a 0-0 draw
davulsukur Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Dreading this. I think we are going to be well and truly tubbed.
waggy Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 my mate here is a utd season ticket holder and he,s just put $300 on rovers to win at 8/1.im confident of a result
roverwhelmed Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I fear a pasting tonight. But what do I know? I predicted a drubbing at the same fixture last season and was pleasantly amazed by a decent performance and a draw. I was so nervous for the game on new years eve that I didn't watch it, listened to the radio a bit and nearly crashed my car when Hanley scored! So who knows? Hoping and praying it is one of those twists in the season that pundits talk about and a surprising win or even draw for us.
Gally Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I'm feeling strangely optimistic/delusional about tonight. Rovers 2-1 win. Nzonzi will need to have a monster of a game though.
alexanders Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 City players are offering Gamst free dinners if we win tonight.
John Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Draw with Kean (along with his bodyguard) proceeding to do lap of honour round the pitch.
Ozz Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Kean has won games against Liverpool, Arsenal and United in his time as boss here, so I would not discount us getting something from tonight-remember we are now operating in The Twylight Zone these days, so pretty much anything can happen. Here's a map of Blackburn , seen through the eyes of `Crazy` Steven Kean.
OJRovers Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 3-0 to the Rovers At the final whistle, Kean to be carried on the shoulders of the players round the pitch soaking up the applause from his devout supporters on all 4 sides of the ground. In reality, 4-0 loss, back in the relegation zone.
A cup of beans Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I'm feeling strangely optimistic/delusional about tonight. Rovers 2-1 win. Nzonzi will need to have a monster of a game though. Last night. I dreamt we won 2-1! yak and hanley, after scrambles from corners! I'm going to remain positive, by reminding myself this is a poor man utd.. and we've beaten them at old trafford. COYB!
Steve Moss Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 We can get something from this. Let's just hope its Black, not Kean, setting the team up and making the substitutions.
Devon Rover Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Like some others I am feeling strangely confident that we might snatch a point. But it will only be if we score enough as I cannot see United failing to score a few against our defence. SO my head says 4-1 win for Man U. But my heart is suggesting 2-2.
eire3382 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 A draw would be a bonus here. If we can avoid a hammering that wouldn't be too bad. Goal difference could be very important to us this year.
rovers11 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 If we get the first goal tonight then we might just pull off a result. Got a funny feeling the Junior is going to be well up for tonight - Man Utd are one of the clubs he is going to want to impress.
bradeagle Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Good call martmitch. I had the pleasure of sitting in the utd end when he scored 5 - pulling teeth springs to mind
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I don't know why - even though I am not in the least optimistic about our chances tonight - keep thinking we will win. So a nailed on defeat it is
1864roverite Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 The ghosts of Keans love affair with all the good things the other managers yap about him, his dignity, the lack of nouse of the bolton games, wba and all the other pathetic displays come home to roost. United will hammer us. There is no pressure on them so they will pick us off 1 by 1. KEAN OUT
Nelsta Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Really dont know what to expect tonight,Part of me says 2-1 Rovers, the other part says 4-1 United. Fingers crossed we turn up tonight!
