I wonder what Roversmum knows - with her open line of communication - that leads her to still remain fairly positive?

fair do's if I have offended anyone I apologise ( think mum must regret a certain national TV interview ) but WTF is there to be positive or optimistic about ???? the club is screwed and has been from the day it was sold !

a few months ago I trawled back on a Portsmouth message board and before the ###### hit the fan on both occasions there were still posters who were being positive , etc that needed a reality check wake up and smell the coffee..at least pompey and Rangers had media sympathy but Rovers don't even have that it's spun against the fans that much by SEM/Kentaro pundits !

As I will state one more time it's not what roversmum knows what I am saying is quite simple just because roversmum does not shout from the rooftops Venkys/Kean out does not mean she doesn't care about the situation the club is in. You lot accuse her of all sorts of things without being in possession of all the facts. Different supporters voice their concerns differently does not mean to say she does not care. But also you lot of have to remember venkys reads these boards so whatever is put out there can easily be viewed by them so in theory like a journalist if you start revealing your sources you have no sources left. However accusing her of being on venkys side without knowing the full facts is wrong because no-one knows what she is doing to resolve the issues. I am in full possession of the facts but as I have stated before I am not going to divulge anything on an open forum all I am prepared to say on the matter is roversmum has the clubs best interests at heart and I am sure when the time is right she will fill you in more I just ask having spent many a good time with her and her husband they are not bad people and for some of you to accuse her of sideing with them without being in full possession of the facts is wrong and I ask you to lay off the insults towards her. That is all I am saying on the matter. After all for me to air my views I just email Paul Hunt and tell him of my concerns with the club and give good advice and no topman I have not said anything I should not have you are reading too much into it. Stevo I did not say anything about roversmum being positive all I am saying is just because she is not breaking venkys door down to get out does not mean she does not care about the situation and when the time is right I am sure she will fill you in on things all I am saying you should not accuse her of being on there side without knowing the full facts or what people are doing behind the scenes.

Venky's definitely read these boards do they?

Venky's: STEVE KEAN IS A LIAR AND IS HORRENDOUSLY BAD AT TRYING TO BE A FOOTBALL MANAGER.

BY STICKING WITH HIM, YOU HAVE EFFECTIVELY RELEGATED OUR TEAM.

IT IS NOW YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SAFEGUARD THE CLUB'S FUTURE, IDEALLY RETURNING TO THE PREMIER LEAGUE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, REPLACE KEAN WITH A REAL FOOTBALL MANAGER (SEE ALLARDYCE, S. HUGHES, M. CURBISHLEY, A.)

After all for me to air my views I just email Paul Hunt and tell him of my concerns with the club and give good advice

+ Paul Hunt does what exactly ??? is interview in the LT was a joke pal..

did a job before christmas in London for a Finance Vice President of a multi national company and got talking about football the guy basiclly felt sorry for me being a Rovers fan and told me that Rovers were financially screwed and just been used as by various people and companies as a cash cow in a way which has never happened before the Leeds + pompey were different scenarios. but also sad for the fans as ultimately we are the ones who get shafted , the players they just find another club !

but some times you need to speculate to accumalate in business....

anyway back to the football Liverpool are poor at the moment IMO + a great time to be playing them few days before the Semi , think a few may be rested and lets face it some arent going to be flying into challenges with a wembley date coming up and to make it extra spicy its against your local rivals

sentinent, I understand your frustration but writing insulting posts and calling people names is really not the way to further your cause.

I have no cause to promote. The club has been executed. Some people have betrayed the club and assisted the assassins. I have only anger left. Other emotions have departed.

I say to those that have collaborated in this destruction that thousands will not forget. You are not closing down the local pub or rebranding a chocolate bar. BRFC is family for many many people. Take that away from some people and things won't be nicey-nicey.

And by the way, I will call that asswipe from poona exactly what I think he is. A soft-minded narcissitic fool taken in by a barraboy spiv and dancing to his sister's tune. Anyone that puts an ounce of credence on anything that spews from his mouth must be an even bigger fool.

Very true.

For some reason, most people back-off Roversmum and not sure why - if you come on here and give your views, then be prepared to be shot at irrespective of sex. However, draw the line at personal insults.

Disagreeing with her opinions is fine, but there is no need to launch personal attacks against any poster, nor was there a need for her to needlessly be singled out.

Seems like bullying to me. Her name wasn't mentioned once in the thread before this, so what was the relevance? You say "if you come on here and give your views" but she hadn't been on this thread, hadn't given any views and didn't deserve to be at all mentioned.

Four points:

1. We are in a precarious position. We really could do with a win against Liverpool. As "necessity is the mother of invention", I'm going with a Rovers win.

2. How do we win? Stick with the basics of what has worked, but mix it up, bring some class, some spine, back into the squad:

Robinson

Orr Hanley Givet Martin Olsson

Formica Dunn N'Zonzi Vukcevic

Hoilett

Yakubu

3. I've strongly disagreed with Roversmum on Venkys, the Pune trip, etc. However, she is clearly a decent person. Feel free to disagree with her but she's done nothing to deserve insults.

4. Speaking of persons deserving of insults: KEAN OUT!

First things first...I truly believe Rovers were still depressed from the late letdown against Man United, and it showed in our play at West Brom. WBA are a better side than us at the moment, but nowhere near that much better. So...with the number of remaining fixtures quickly dwindling, why am I somewhat optimistic about Tuesday? Well...

For all you stats geeks, if there is one positive you can take into Tuesday's game...here goes:

Every time Rovers have been thumped in a game this season ('thumping' can be defined as having been beaten by three or more goals)...we've responded with at least a draw in the subseuqent match:

- After getting prison-sexed 7-1 by Arsenal, we followed that up by beating QPR at home 3-2.

- We then proceeded to lose 3-0 to Man City in our very next match after QPR, after which we drew 1-1 with Villa.

Somewhat shockingly, we've only lost by 3+ goals twice all year, but come on...can't blame me for grasping at any straws within reaching distance, can you?

The other bit of good news? Besides the United loss at home (who doesn't lose to them?), Rovers have only lost twice in 2012 at Ewood. Frankly, I believe six more points will be enough to finish the job of survival...perhaps by default since some of the other relegation battlers are truly awful. Wolves are too far behind to catch up, and Wigan have a brutal remaining set of fixtures. It's gonna come down to us or QPR, so...if we could somehow come away with three massive points on Tuesday, then Rovers can take their pick of winning one of our remaining home games and send a junior squad to the rest for all I care.

WAs it not roversmum who said venky's had so much money they could make every rovers fan's dream come true?

Ok, so calling her 'venky'smum' is a mite bit childish, but she's been such an apologist for people who've ruined our club I can understand the frustration. At times it's seemed as if she's been deliberately provocative.

Kenny has a tough call here, what does he do with team selection, he is between the devil and the deep blue sea, does he rotate his squad with the Semi final v Everton in mind and risk the wrath of the PL for putting out an under strength squad against a side battling relegation?

My feeling is he will maybe make a couple of changes but not much more, I do feel he will go for width having watched or past few games and most definately play Carrol in the middle to capitalise on the crosses from wide areas, I would personally play both Downing and Bellamy wide to get at us early and then replace them on around 60/70 minutes.

Liverpools danger men for me are the two wide players and Kuyt who really puts a shift in and will be niggling at our midfield the whole game.

For me, Rovers have to play a very disciplined game, they cant simply hope to play keep ball with no purpose with Bellamy and Kuyt as both those players willpress the ball and invite mistakes, Enrique is a decent player going forward but has limitations defensively and I would be putting pressure on him with both pace and skill down the right which wouldnt allow him to get forward quite as much, more importantly, we must be able to get back into positions quickly when we lose the ball because both Downing and Bellamy can both attack with pace on the break.

I have not mentioned Suarez, I think he will be one of the players rested for this game, Liverpools keeper is untested and virtually an unknown quantity and for this reason I would be wanting him tested early doors with both crosses and shots, more importantly, I would want a man running accross the keepers line of vision at all set pieces and crosses to make things even more difficult for him, personally, Hoilett just behind the striker could be a threat as both the Liverpool centre backs have a tendency to put in tackles inside the box!!

As for the result, its a tough call, we need to play well as a whole unit, in attack, in midfield and defence, without that, I think we will struggle, I would however have Rochina on the bench, he is one player who can strike a football well and in recent games, too many efforts are failing to hit the target, we simply must work and put pressure on the 'keeper'

They're rubbish, we're rubbish, you never know.

And we did it last season. It led to them sacking a former manager of ours. Could history repeat itself tomorrow? *clutches straw desperately*

Think Rovers will more than likely put in a fair showing tomorrow but I still don't see a win. There'll be a lot of effort and the players will be up for it. Unfortunately they need to be up for the more winnable games home games. Yes Liverpool are rubbish right now but they will still carry a threat to the likes of Rovers under Kean.

My team would be:

Robbo

Orr, Hanley, Givet, Olsson (if fit)

Nzonzi, Peds

Formica, Hoilett, Simon

Yak

We have to give Simon a go here. Just give the guy a chance pleeeaaaaaaase.

Formica will run and run all night, Pedersen needs to do the same this time. Not prepared to stick the boot in on Marcus Olsson yet but he probably needs to be on the bench for this one. I remember Martin was a bit rubbish to start with for a while, Marcus just needs blooding in the right way. Could be an asset next season.

In light of our present sickening situation and in loving memory of better times how about all home stands joining together in a rousing rendition of ''KING KENNYS BLUE 'N' WHITE ARMY''!

:tu:

We could have a 90's night.

PA system: The Final Countdown

Crowd: KINKY KNEES BLUE AND WHITE ARMY

Drummer: Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!

Ah, happy days !

Everton have rested 5 players ahead of the weekends semi final. Wonder of that might make a difference to the team we see at ewood tomorrow.

I just don't see Liverpool resting any players, they will want a win to go into the FA Cup game with and what better place to start

Everton already in a good run of form, Moyes could afford to. Some weakening as 3 up !

Liverpool need to find some form - signs were there on Saturday. Expect Kenny to start with a strong eleven and pull 2 or 3 off once they've gone 2 or 3 up.

We are the patsy for all strikers / teams in a lean spell. Almost inevitable Liverpool will return to winning ways.

Unbelievable complacency everywhere about tomorrow just because Liverpool are in a semi on Saturday !

Strong feeling that Liverpool will win and have a tenner on both 1-2 @ 9/1 and 1-3 @ 18/1. Had a nice 13/2 tip / winner at Chepstow today so feeling confident and lucky, though would rather be confident about Rovers and betting on them !
