People are actually looking at us signing players...amazing.

Exactly what I thought when I saw this thread. The clubs a standstill until the Kean issue is resolved. Plus we need to wait for all the big timers to leave 1st before we try bringing any1 in. As half of the money we coup from selling will be the transfer budget.

Ian Black should be an absolute must. A hard man that can play a bit and MOTM in the FA cup final.

Gary McKay-Stevens. 'Messi' will cost only around 1-1.5 million and provide massive returns in 2 years time.

Would "Messi" be straight from the Steve Kean naming convention? You know, along with other such gems; "the next chris smalling", "the new denis irwin" and "the scottish Wayne Rooney"?

If your asking if GMS is as good as Messi then NO. If your asking whether he will be a great signing then YES.

Tbf, Mackay-Steven was highly rated at Liverpool. Only injury stopped him making it there.

I would imagine he would be highly rated if he's gained the nickname "Messi".

Heskey anyone?

Could find his level again like Roberts...

no thanks but Brad Guzan and Carlos Cuellar is good players on free. Only when we got new owners though!

Cueller would be a great shout. Wouldn't bother getting anotehr keeper as I think Bunn could step up and Kean would be a good back up.

Cueller can play right back as well as centre half. Think he'd want to stay in the top flight.

I'm SO tired of all this "no player with self respect will come!" crap. 99% of players and managers would work for satan himself as long as they got paid doing it, "self respect" doesn't mean jack.

Agreed +100

Scout Report:

Rais M'bohli Goalkeeper, for Algeria and CSKA Sofia, 26. Tall and has excellent reflexes, reminds me of Al habsi at wigan. Had trials perviously with Man utd, Newcastle and West Ham. Probs get him for a million from his russian parent club or on a season loan if Robbo goes like he has been at CSKA.

Dacosta Goore - Saw this lad play when he was at FC Moscow, always thought he was a bit of an Emanuel Eboue sort of player, good full back, with a tackle but the stamina and pace to bomb forward. Be a good A. Trialist

Willy Boly - Just been relegated with Auxerre in France 21, 6ft 3 and a danger in the air. Bit of an unkown in Europe really but he has the potential and class to be the next Chris Samba. 1 million tops.

Alain Traore - Talented, tricky pacey left winger who can operate on the inside or of the front man, basically a Junior Hoilett. At Auxerre just been relegated we could probably get for 2.5-3million.

Koro Kone - 22, Just been relegated at Reims in France, pacey and can play on the wing or upfront. Lanky but good in the air and has something of a Adebayor about him. 1 million tops. Forget the Scottish Rooney this guy would rip the chumps.

Emanuel Ledesma - Walsall attacking Argie midfielder, with a flair for goals and a sublime pass, on a fre eas his contract is out and only 23. Worth a punt! Perhaps would work well with Formica.

Bjorn Bergmann Siguardsson - On the radar of Cardiff and Reading, excellent prospect at the age of twenty one. Full international with iceland leading goal scorer in Norway, 6ft one has no problem rifling them in with his feet or head. 1.2 million rated. Would be our chamionship Yakubu.

Yannick M'Bone Recently relegated with Caen in france, made 6 appearances last year in his debut season at 19. 6ft one a very much N'zonzi replacement.

Ibrahima Toure - Monaco's top marksman this year, quick for a big man and Monaco didnt get promoted, could be worth a look at.

Sigurdsson is going wolves.

With Kean as manager there are no realistic targets... 90% of those we have signed have appeared from nowhere... great free players utterly ignored, obvious targets ignored and experienced targets abandoned.

We will only sign free/cheap, unknown, foreign youngsters who do not have the mettle or experience to make it in the championship... and even if Kean goes Venkys still want those kind of players coming in.

Our only hope now is Venkys sell up before flogging everyone.

Paul Gallagher rumored to Ipswich for £0,5 million. If we had something even resembling a structure in place we should be all over that deal.

Posted

I'd have Gally back, very experienced in the Championship and a local lad to boot.

He's scored goals in that league and knows it well, just what we need at the mo.

Posted

Gallagher is a solid top half Championship player capable of scoring goals and chipping in with assists. Thought we was decent when he was with us in the Prem and would love him back now.

I know the club is an absolute mess and our transfer policy generally a shambles but we did manage to get Yakubu and Dann, both who would have been highly sought after and both of whom commanded fairly substantial fees.

we need to be looking for players right now.

Lots of good players out of contract now.

If Martin Olsson is to leave then we should be looking at Nicky Shorey.
