When vh bought the club, how long did the process take? Did anyone on here have knowledge beforehand that a sale was pending? and to vh? And also has anyone received any information regarding some good news tomorrow?!!

I'm not getting my hopes up but I've heard two stories which could be linked, from two entirely independent sources. Sorry for the intrigue because it may be coincidence.

They purchased the club in November 2010, and if I remember Ali Syed was doing due diligence around September time "exclusivity period" and Venky's hadn't even been heard of publicly. Not sure if anyone will know how long they were sniffing around before then though.

Venky's bought us for 23m, now trying to sell for 30 mill.

Can someone please let me know how they've added value in 18 months?

I believe they are genuine Rovers supporters. I was also told they are very serious people, with real money. The gentleman who told me is working on the deal but I must admit I was sceptical until today when a very excited 2nd person backed this up. These 2 people don't know each other.

Then again, better informed people on here haven't uttered a word, & apologies if I've betrayed the confidence of the first gentleman.

True Bob, these last 2 years seem an eternity. I yearn for the predictable, almost functionary victories under Hughes, and the solid boardroom. All I'm trying to work out though, would any sale by the vh be without anyone on here knowing? And how long a process is it? I was quite stunned how quick the Trust's sale was concluded, there seemed to be no leaks of information, & wonder if the same can be done here?

I know from a well informed source that there are a couple of groups interested, but I haven't a clue who they are because he wouldn't say. Just that a couple of groups were interested should Venky's give the sign that they'd be looking to sell. He also said, be careful what you wish for though! But I can't see how anyone could be any worse that Venky's.

So this may very well be true but I'm not going to get too excited about it until it happens, and until I find out who it is. Fingers crossed it's someone who cares for the club and they can put their money where their mouths are.

Yet there was a time when this site used to crash at 11pm.

To be fair. The site used to crash around 350 simultaneous users. Now it regularly tops 700. It's just they're all bloody reading and not bloody posting!

One of the quotes from Nicko's twitter account at the beginning of the season was "Armageddon"! He got that right!
