Rover & Out
I think Paul Hunt's biggest mistake was mentioning his salary in Point No. 1 of the action plan. That moment of eye contact with the word 'increase' would have been when the paper hit the shredder!

OJRovers
You keep digging that ever deeper hole to stick your head in Topman, one day you will wake up and realise the sh1t we are truly in! I agree with Topman Some of Abbey's drunken rants on this messageboard have better structure, grammar and prose.

Amo
You keep digging that ever deeper hole to stick your head in Topman, one day you will wake up and realise the sh1t we are truly in! Not only is it worded very unprofessionally for a person of his position, it also seems far too 'on the nose' for my liking.
Duff's Minder
It would appear that our most senior executive writes internal memos in the style of the Sun sport section. We already knew Venkys were a mess now it appears the senior team are even less impressive. Depressing.

james_rox
Paul Hunt will be out of his job this time next week. Damning stuff indeed, if even the acting CEO wants rid of Kean then what hope is there for the club with him stuck in position. Venkys have done nothing to change any of these issues. It would be very foolish to publish a letter such as that without the OK from Sporting Intelligences legal people, indeed, it says the letter has been verified as legitimate! No doubt we will get a response confirming or discrediting the letter from someone in authority sooner than later, not that it will mean anything to us fans as we are being fed continuous bullshit from all directions... james_rox
Whats the deal with Simon Williams? Sorry it seems to have gone over my head. Was he fired for speaking out against the owners?
Hughesy
Something about the way this is all worded sounds bogus to me. Ditto

Well never knew about Umbro issues before. So we can expect a lawsuit for breaking our Umbro contract shortly as management knew about it, and owners were informed about the breach and did nothing. Paul
Not sure about this. For sporting intelligence to publish they must be 120% convinced but it doesn't read very well. If it was my letter I would ensure the structure and grammar correct. However unless sporting intelligence can afford a day in court it's going to be genuine. deftangel
The tone of the letter could just as easily be attributed to an extended period of the "softly softly" approach not working and a need to spell it out in big letters. Whilst the bit about the salary might seen unpalatable, this is how the world of executive pay can work. In the letter, he's asking to be put directly in the firing line on the owners behalf in order to clear up their mess. Given that most of us wouldn't work for our clueless owners for all the tea in China it's not that surprising. I'm not minded to doubt the authenticity of the letter as Sporting Intel has earned itself a track record. Doesn't mean it isn't a dupe but the balance of probability would probably imply it's genuine.
Ricky
Is it not an email? I read it as an email not a letter. Emails are often written in a more punchy straight to the point manner than a formal letter.
Sysagent
The letter may have not been typed or proof read by a secretary, it might have been written by Mr Hunt himself and bypassed all the usual checks that occur usually. I am sure Mrs D got the full impression of what Mr Hunt was trying to convey to her irrespective of the odd grammatical error, etc.

Boylerhaus
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2093381/Steve-Kean-survived-plot-sack-Blackburn-Rovers.html Refers to the letter then. Sounds like Kean was the one to leak it in January, probably to let everyone know how untouchable he is. Clearly the same letter. How does a journalist read that letter attempting to save the club and describe it as stabbing kean in the back? The amount of info he had to ignore to paint kean/venkys in a good light. I just don't understand why

Also, has our very own Kamy not provided Nick Harris with the e-mail and Harris has verified it? Be intrigued to know how it's come out now, element of Hunt washing his hands of the whole sorry mess, making himself personally responsible if we go into admin. True Blue & White
I agree, they surely must have had some serious concrete evidence that the letter is real for them to run with it. I may stand corrected but I don't think the media are legally obliged to absolutely verify what they print is genuine, otherwise they'd never be any news. I think all they have to do is show it was reasonable to assume it was genuine at the time of printing.
