I am aware that that when we met in April, we said we would look at this within the first year. I believe now is the right time to promote me to CEO. The "Deputy" title is confusing to staff, supporters and media. I am confident that I now have the knowledge to be able to deliver strong progress. We have a great club, good team and an excellent range of staff that I feel can take this club forward, given the right support from the owners. Naturally, with extra responsibility I would like extra salary and I would be happy with a relatively modest increase with the promise of a good bonus and increase in salary in the summer that would reflect the improvement in position. I am currently the lowest paid senior club official in the Premier League.

Just been told that Hunt has tried to line his own pockets in this letter, not read it, but if thats true the mans a what does that mean? disgrace, regardless of his attempts to out the manager and enforce change.

I flagged a few days ago on here that, IMO, Silk would shortly become CEO. Looks increasingly likely now.

Whilst that would give us financial nous at the helm, does she have the personality to provide the link to the fans in a John Willliams vein? We could certainly do with someone capable of rebuilding the badly burned bridges but she's been fairly anonymous to your average fan so far. Does anyone know more about her?

Before we get a bit too carried away with the praise for Paul Hunt, we perhaps ought to remind ourselves wasn't this the guy who agreed to, then postponed then moved the goalposts for meetings with the fans? And even as Deputy CEO, surely he knew about and in all probability agreed the ban on banners, the 'frisking' policy, etc?

If these meetings were arranged in the first place. He still had to toe the line with venkys who are paying him.

Usually find Conn's stuff regarding Rovers to be fairly balanced, just a thought ,could he not be sold before his contract expires, surely somebody might want to secure his services before his contract ends getting an head start on others who may be waiting to make their move when his contract ends?.

If nothing else the letter confirms the simplicity of those fans who argued that the solution to our problems was to "get behind the team".

Moreover it, in contradiction of what was often posted on here, the lads were not playing for him.
