[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

I don't see the big deal about it. It's only what everyone else was saying about him after the Panorama programme.

Huge difference fans speculating among themselves as to whether in their personal opinion there is any truth in rumours and a fellow manager stating it as fact to fans.we all work with people we might have certain reservations about but we don't go round stating to outsiders what we think we act as professionals. It's his lack of professionalism if nothing else that shines through

Was it?

I didn't know that. Please enlighten us as to which other managers were caught calling Allardyce a crook on camera.

I think you need to watch it pal.

Can anyone identify everyone there please?

Second left, Sloth Fratelli

Fully appreciate what you're saying Paul. I don't disagree that the structure needs rebuilding - ideally - first of all. Problem is, that could take an awful long time, and even then the right people might not be put in place. So do we just leave the club as it is, with season ticket sales down around the 6/7000 mark, allow Kean to dictate the next transfer window, see staff at the club unsettled by Keans continued controlling status, or do we just say "well he's not good enough, fans are walking away in droves because of him, - so he has to go, full stop. We must find another manager and we'll sort out the boardroom ASAP?

These are the problems we have, that no-one outside the rovers fans appreciate. Everyone thinks this is just about a manager and his results.

I don't know the answer. The whole thing is a massive quandary. My fear is should the Rao brothers appoint the wrong man we are stuffed, again. Which is why I feel a CEO would be the better first appointment.

One only has to read this thread to realise how divorced from reality some fans are. Without wishing to pick out Hughesy his justification of why Hollowy should come to Rovers sums it up.

If I was holloway I wouldn't even consider a move to Ewood. People need to be realistic and stop fantasising

Completely agree Paul. We need to sort out the senior management team out starting with a good and experienced CEO. The playing side management is vital but the overall management of BRFC is the no1 priority.

Why can't 'they' just get rid of him?

I'm guessing they feel guilty in some way and need to keep him involved in some capacity or he knows too much and its the only way to keep him sweet. My friends, dad's, mechanic, gardeners daughter works at the club and has been informed he has until tomorrow to accept whatever this new job is.

Couldn't agree more. Sacking Kean will build bridges with the disheartened fans, putting back in place an experienced infrastructure will make me believe they do actually care, just shutting up and not doing interviews afterwards is a must.

Nicko hinting that Kean stays as manager and Cryer says he wouldn't be surprised.

That's two feckin bottles of champagne wasted.

I've now given-up completely where Rovers are concerned.

Pity, I was hoping you were for real.

In their minds there is an experianced infastructure in place, thats the problem, if they doTRY and remove keane it will only be to appease us(not because hes a useless effinkok).

In a way, I hope they do keep Kean as manager. It'll immediately save me about £150 in shirt/kit sales at the club shop.

No more merchandise/etc from me whilst the imposter is here.

in all seriousness i have been informed thats the situation. True or not I'm running with it because its the only situation I'm prepared to accept. I cannot even consider Kean stood on the touchline come next season

All that fuss, and they may well be keeping him on anyway.

How the hell do they ever decide anything?

In the long-term it may be better if they keep him on because it unites the fans against the Venky's. The Venky's have to go, and it would help to keep the fans together. We probably wouldn't be too much better off with a new manager anyway, there's no money to spend and the club is in disarray.

But how we get rid of Venky's, god only knows. How long would it take them to decide to sell.

You have to wonder if Kean has compromising info on them which he is using as a lever to keep his job?
