[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

Exactly, we've been half joking about it for months - many a true word & all that!

The "Venky's being a front" conspiracy theory - is this really such a far fetched idea - I think we all agree now it isn't, especially as myself and a colleague came up with an almost identical theory a day or two ago.

One thing we do know is that all is not as it would appear and it's gonna come out sooner or later, hopefully sooner but I think we can have a reasonable guess that it could be in about a month!

If venky are only a front for somebody else. How come companies house gas the 4 venkys down as the owners.

At least they have placated the small minority of Venkettes that live on another lesser known forum on another planet

"Communication? They have spoken to the fans today. What more do you want?" is the blinkered, blind and downright dangerous line some are taking

Is that where that bloke Ewood Spark has gone?

Just watched the interview, absolutely awful. Sounds like he has no idea what he's talking about. Reminded me of when that taxi driver walked into the BBC studios and they started asking him about the IT industry.

In fact I think he's more convincing than Venkatesh.

It seems our club is being run by either morons or criminals... maybe both. I desperately hope they sell or we as fans are going to have to worry about far more than just relegation.

because someone got them to put it down that they own the club...in name only ????

the plot thickens....

the SSN latest interview gives conspiracy theories more plausability , the club is screwed big time unless new owners come in is it getting to the stage where we may no longer have a club ???

I can see this clearly:

Venkys want to sell, thats obvious and in a month the sale will be completed, thats why Kean is still in charge and the whole situation is confusing. If Venkys were about to sack Kean they would need to comepensate him, (cost £££). When the club is sold, Kean will get the boot by the new owners. Quite obvious. Thats why Kean is having a low profile at the moment. Pure truth!

Well that does seem fairly rational but we live in Venkys world now so it doesnt seem very realistic :)

So you're all in shock, are you Venkatesh? Well, let me tell you a thing or two.

Within a matter of weeks of the Raos taking over the club, some supporters were telling you that you were taking the club in the wrong direction. You did nothing. You carried on regardless. Towards the end of your first season, more and more fans were doubting your [in]actions. We missed out on relegation by the skin of our teeth. You carried on regardless.

This season the majority of fans were telling you that things at the club had to change. Towards the end of this last season, the whole ground was telling you that things were dire. I don't think one fan was supporting your actions. Everyone, everyone was against the way you were running the club. We went down and you did nothing.

Well, actually, that's not true is it? You didn't just ignore the fans concerns, you didn't "not do anything" - you fought against anyone who dared tell you to change tack. We've had fans marching and staying in the ground after the game, because it was agreed that they could do that. What happened - the speaker system volume was turned up and they were drowned out. You banned banners inside Ewood in order to silence any protests. More than that, we saw the incredible sight of the stweards going into the crowd and physically confronting angry and worried fans. When Paul Hunt asked you to consider that the club was being run badly and you needed to heed the message, you did nothing until the letter became public, then you sacked him. When the whole ground was telling you that Kean had to go, you backed him. When Jerome A. launched a tirade against the rover's fans on national TV, we heard nothing from you - in effect, you backed him as well.

So you now portray this image of poor Indian owners who didn't expect this outcome. How far from the truth could that possibly be, when you actively fought against any voice who wanted to talk to you in good faith? Politicians were willing to talk to you, the sponsors were willing to talk to you and employees at the club were desperate to talk to you - they probably still are. You shunned the lot of them. Fans forum members went out to Pune and they did talk to you, but you lied to them.

Now then, we are in a position where season ticket sales are falling faster than ever before. Some fans reckon it's because people don't want to put money into your pockets. Well, the truth is that many of the people not renewing are doing so because they have been trying to get the message over to you, that you were putting the club into very dangerous waters, - but you have fought that viewpoint every step of the way, so the only other option they see, is to let you do, what you are intent on doing. There's nothing else they can say.

All this has been coming to a head since you bought the club. A club that was one of the most friendly clubs in the land has become a place of disappointment and hatred. You might argue that some of these actions haven't been ordered directly from Pune, but it's your club, it's your responsibility. You knew of the problems but fought against anyone telling you about them. You have to take responsibility for the last 18 months. There is another thread on here asking whether the fans would forgive you if Kean was sacked. Well, many fans would indeed come back to Ewood in the hope that you have changed direction. As for trusting you ever again, many would say "never". Many would say trust has to be earned and there's a hell of a long way to go before that happens.

My advice to you would be sell up. Get out because you have no future here.

Using my best photoshop…ahem…MS paint skills I’ve airbrushed a moustache and hair back onto Venkatesh….

After careful comparison of the images I can’t be 100% sure it was really him doing the SkySports interview (I think it’s just some bloke they pulled in off the street, which would explain his state of confusion!!)

Great stuff den, we sounded the klaxons a long time ago and were largely mocked and ignored by the owners, media and authorities.

It just shows that as fans we are utterly powerless.

Agreed.

He did look convincingly upset, but have no sympathy.

Do SSN deliberately select morons to interview. How can you trust the guy who hasnt had a shower in a month ? (greasy haired young ish in the prime of his life!), and the fat bloke, with his Mcdonalds on the passenger seat.

He said "I wont be going again." If only he had the same conviction over his diet!

It was cringe-worthy seeing them.

Excellent Den. That should be sent to the media as an open letter to the Indians.

The shaving of head is to show that he is in mourning.Further during the departed soul's last days the sorrowful difficulties would have engaged the mind of the people. The hair that was present at that time on the head are polluted by negative thoughts.By physically removing it, you prepare for new hopeful future. As the new hair grows, you leave behind your sorrow and negative thoughts and look forward for positive growth.

The 'thamasic(dullness)' would have entered your brain during the sorrowful days. By letting the sun directly shine on your shaven head you will get busy and start rethinking. The brain function will be activated.

I know as fans we are all a little shocked to find we will have to wait up to another month to find out what they are going to do next - but think of how the employees at Rovers feel. Obviously not the footballers - but the people who stand to lose their jobs because of the Venky's inept handling of the club.

all i could get from the interview was,

'mumble mumble mumble, kids crying, supporters crying, mumble, mumble, trust us, mumble, we are in shock, my whole family is crying mumble, and that makes us cry, mumble'

Absolutely agree. That should go in the LT (or a National) as an open letter, not just to Venkys but also the Premier League, Football League - anyone in fact who is supposed to run our national game and has its welfare at heart. I'd chip in.

Great post den.

I'd possibly add the line.... "So which is it Venkys? Either you're the stupidest business people in the world, not just India, or your corrupt? Time to explain your actions and thought processes, otherwise anyone who cares about the game of Association Football can only conclude its the latter."

And I'd another line asking when the PL / FA are going to start looking after the interests of a founder member of both bodies, instead of sticking their heads in the sand.

I am now more than 90% sure that Venky's are just a front.

Within the other less than 10%; maybe he didn't want to say anything with conviction as Desai is the one who makes decisions anyway, they are selling the club (if they were they would never admit it as it would lower the price) and don't want to pay him off, or maybe they listened to Kean explain that most of the players would stay under him and they are now giving it a few weeks to see what the players do.

I'm pretty sure they are just a front but you never know.....like someone pointed out he didn't say in 4 weeks time so maybe they will start to do things in a couple weeks time. Far too late I know but still.

This was one of the rumour's that floated around the t'internet at the time Kean was in India - so it could have some foundation. Though, again if the rumours are true, there is only one person left to convince that Kean should be shown the door.
