One thing that I picked up was this

"I'm sure it will turn around because we have done nothing wrong in our lives"

Is he referring to their previous business decisions, or is it a guilty conscience over something morally/legally?

So you're all in shock, are you Venkatesh? Well, let me tell you a thing or two.

Within a matter of weeks of the Raos taking over the club, some supporters were telling you that you were taking the club in the wrong direction. You did nothing. You carried on regardless. Towards the end of your first season, more and more fans were doubting your [in]actions. We missed out on relegation by the skin of our teeth. You carried on regardless.

This season the majority of fans were telling you that things at the club had to change. Towards the end of this last season, the whole ground was telling you that things were dire. I don't think one fan was supporting your actions. Everyone, everyone was against the way you were running the club. We went down and you did nothing.

Well, actually, that's not true is it? You didn't just ignore the fans concerns, you didn't "not do anything" - you fought against anyone who dared tell you to change tack. We've had fans marching and staying in the ground after the game, because it was agreed that they could do that. What happened - the speaker system volume was turned up and they were drowned out. You banned banners inside Ewood in order to silence any protests. More than that, we saw the incredible sight of the stweards going into the crowd and physically confronting angry and worried fans. When Paul Hunt asked you to consider that the club was being run badly and you needed to heed the message, you did nothing until the letter became public, then you sacked him. When the whole ground was telling you that Kean had to go, you backed him. When Jerome A. launched a tirade against the rover's fans on national TV, we heard nothing from you - in effect, you backed him as well.

So you now portray this image of poor Indian owners who didn't expect this outcome. How far from the truth could that possibly be, when you actively fought against any voice who wanted to talk to you in good faith? Politicians were willing to talk to you, the sponsors were willing to talk to you and employees at the club were desperate to talk to you - they probably still are. You shunned the lot of them. Fans forum members went out to Pune and they did talk to you, but you lied to them.

Now then, we are in a position where season ticket sales are falling faster than ever before. Some fans reckon it's because people don't want to put money into your pockets. Well, the truth is that many of the people not renewing are doing so because they have been trying to get the message over to you, that you were putting the club into very dangerous waters, - but you have fought that viewpoint every step of the way, so the only other option they see, is to let you do, what you are intent on doing. There's nothing else they can say.

All this has been coming to a head since you bought the club. A club that was one of the most friendly clubs in the land has become a place of disappointment and hatred. You might argue that some of these actions haven't been ordered directly from Pune, but it's your club, it's your responsibility. You knew of the problems but fought against anyone telling you about them. You have to take responsibility for the last 18 months. There is another thread on here asking whether the fans would forgive you if Kean was sacked. Well, many fans would indeed come back to Ewood in the hope that you have changed direction. As for trusting you ever again, many would say "never". Many would say trust has to be earned and there's a hell of a long way to go before that happens.

My advice to you would be sell up. Get out because you have no future here.

Great post Den, couldn't agree more. To come out with the "shocked and sad" line is just pathetic, they've been told since day one that they're running the club badly and they haven't listened to a word. Whether or not that was intentional is another debate entirely, but the "poor, innocent, naive owner" act doesn't wash.

I wonder if they're delaying sacking Kean to see if the promises he made (Hoilett re-signing if he stays, most of the first team squad staying, etc) come true? It'd be nice to see the bald illegitimate hung by his own rope, though even if that was the case I still wouldn't be happy until Venky's sold the club.

We're only going one way under these owners, Kean or not.

Just watched the interview, absolutely awful. Sounds like he has no idea what he's talking about. Reminded me of when that taxi driver walked into the BBC studios and they started asking him about the IT industry.

In fact I think he's more convincing than Venkatesh.

It seems our club is being run by either morons or criminals... maybe both. I desperately hope they sell or we as fans are going to have to worry about far more than just relegation.

Thanks: you've just given me and my wife 20 minutes of side splitting laughter.

Personally, I just don`t get the timing of this interview nor the content; they haven`t been interviewed for a long, long time, yet the first time they do, they paint a picture of uncertaintly; don`t be fooled people, they are not unintelligent nor unskilled business men/women - he must have known what he was trying to portray (some of it lost in indian to English dialect I presume), but there is definetly a move to do somethign big in the background, whether it be sell the club, or a complete overhaul of the staff.

If Kean was going to be safe, he would have said so, more like they are lining up replacements, or activley lookign to sell; what they have done well is create mixed messages and smokescreens to keep their real intentions close to their chest, so they have learnt one hard lesson !

Can`t actually quite believe how much of a soap opera Rovers have become, it practicaly unscriptable !

I think it's got sale written all over it, thank god!

I'm thinking the same. They either want to sell the club or are in talks with interested parties.

or

They are talKing to potential replacements for Kean and waiting till they have it done and sorted before Kean is sack!!!

Maybe a silly question but that Venky's guy really looks different than the last time I saw hhim, is he okay? He looks really worn down...

The interview really was bad though.. we should be rebuilding the team.. in stead Venky's are confused and we hear the same old 'please bare with us'. Didn't he use the exact same line a year ago? Look where that got us :\

To be fair it may well be down to the club being sold or a replacement manager being sourced.

To me I think this confirms they're planning on removing him. Depends what the SSN interview comes back with. If he's staying on for sure then they'll come out and say so. I'm certain of that.

I think this could be good news, actually. Anyone know what time the SSN interview is?

I've said it for ages now, purely going off what I've been told (from a current or former senior player at the club), contrary to popular belief his managerial contract is up this June. To me, that explains the wait...but as other posters have said that will make life even harder for us to hit the ground running at the start of the season.

Utterly ridiculous interview.

Why the wait? What new information will be available to them a month from now? I'm sorry if you aren't feeling all that hot, but welcome to the real world where managers are required to make decisions, regardless of how they are feeling emotionally at the moment. And time is a factor here as the new season will be underway sooner rather than later.

If this were all on the up and up and the Venkys were really interested in doing what is best for the club, then what in the world could Steve Kean have possibly said to them that makes them believe he is the best choice to manage the club? No other PL manager has ever had such a lengthy run of poor results because no other club's management board in their right minds would allow them to stay in charge that long. In other words, Kean is the worst manager in the history of the Premier League. That is not disputable...that is factual.

This ownership group is naive at best and nefarious at worst. Unfortunately, the latter is the only one that is starting to make sense. If the Venkys truly are blithering idiots, they couldn't have amassed the fortune they did in India.

Is there a link for this interview?

Thanks in advance.

Venketash Rao: "We have done nothing wrong in our lives."

Erm...

The extended version of the SSN is even worse. "It was like somebody had died", how bad it was "seeing children cry", "the fans are our parents, whatever they tell us we'll listen"

WTF is all this CRAP?

Just gobsmacked by today's events.

TBH, just don't know what to think any longer and getting past the stage of caring.

Feels like our club has 'gone' and I dread to think what it will be like or where it will be (league) when we get it back.

Just seen it on SSN... The guy looked rattled, I imagine that it has more to do with their empire losing value by the day than any crying kids. I get the feeling that the Venkys are really being bent over a barrel and are either powerless to act until next month, or are feeling the strain of being asked awkward questions - I think I might actually have to start believing in some of those conspiracy theories that have been doing the rounds because something just isn't normal about this whole situation.

So the "owners" want a month to decide, yeah right. They only hope that in a month all this will have died down and the media will have forgotten about us. I say now is the time to really show our hatred towards these clowns and the pathetic excuse of a manager. After a month they should not have any other option than to remove the maggot from our club (and hopefully sell it to someone who cares about football). Never let them forget that we are here!

KEAN OUT! VENKY'S OUT!!

Cryers twitter says it all that he's going on holiday at weekend and expect situation to be same when he gets back. Meanwhile us Rovers fans are checking the Internet every ten minutes. What an absolute embarrassment .

Well not hitting the ground running would be slightly more preferable than hitting the ground with your nose, knocking yourself out and going into a coma for 9 months whilst someone goes through your wallet, steals your cash and credit cards and then flogs off everything you've worked hard to build up all your life.

I can wait, like I've a choice. Hopefully this delay is actually a sale. Kean still hasn't spoken. Very strange.

I've transcribed Venkatesh's extended SSN interview (this is after his first lot of quotes) because I cannot believe what I have just heard. I've taken out the numerous erm, uh's and pauses to make it more readable. But my God, we are owned by IDIOTS.

“It’s totally like, the fans are like a family, and it’s like your family crying, your brother and sisters crying and whether you believe it or not, I’m not telling you to impress you on this interview but it’s like our brothers and sisters and my family members crying and... if your family members are crying then you are crying, and we have to rectify the whole thing very very fast and we have to, in football we have to make decisions, and positive decisions, we will go with the correct decisions and God bless us and the fans bless us, and the positive things will start happening and we are very positive. I’m not saying just bless us, but we are trying to do all the right moves and do the best, our best, whatever we can. And I’m sure it will turn around because we have done nothing wrong in our lives. I think basically we are used to, whatever in our business right from our grandfather’s time, to my father’s time and this generation we are used to success in a hard way, and whatever companies we have had have been working in and wherever we are going we always succeeded and it was one of the saddest days of our lives and seeing the fans crying, the football entire team was in total depression, and you could see how the feel, it felt that somebody died that day and the saddest, it was very very sad, and actually, seeing the small children cry and fans cry, and I think the situation was the same over in our house also. We also believe, as I said, it’s like a family and I want to always give this example that sometimes you go around or sometimes your parents get angry and... they get wild at you, and there’s so many things, good bad ugly, same with the fans. So they’re our parents, and i’m sure we’ll rectify ourselves and whatever our parents tell we’ll listen.”

:wacko::blink:

i would urge anyone with anything on these clowns running our club , to get it out there now

I agree. Getting sick and tired of people dancing around knowing something, but that they can't say. Smug.

Lawsuits? Give me a break.
