[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

Just out of interest not fully aware of FA , Prem ownership or administration rules, but in theory could an owner of a company contract a sports management agency to negotiate the purchase of a football club on their behalf and that contract includes the sports management agency doing the daily running of that purchased club for a set period of time?

Would that be possible within the rules and regulations of the FA , Premier League etc.?

After a month they should not have any other option than to remove the maggot from our club (and hopefully sell it to someone who cares about football). Never let them forget that we are here!

I find 'maggot' to be a fitting term for the man:

I've transcribed Venkatesh's extended SSN interview (this is after his first lot of quotes) because I cannot believe what I have just heard. I've taken out the numerous erm, uh's and pauses to make it more readable. But my God, we are owned by IDIOTS.

:wacko::blink:

Palin-esque

It's been that bad for Skinhead Rao that "he's not eaten his dinner for a couple of nights". He just told me on SSN. Also, he feels very sorry "for my fans and we're part of the family".

Pathetic.

Aye, here's some further quotes from poor old Venkatesh.

“Ultimately we have to see our fans happy. As long as we don’t see our fans happy, we can’t rest in peace.”

(When asked if selling the club) “Absolutely not, we want to see the fans happy”

“We have to prove ourselves, we have to be here, we’re going to stay here for a long time”

“It’s, I guess it’s clear and there’s no debt in the club at all, and everything’s clean”

(will they invest to take us back into the prem) “200%. 200% (no compromise? He’s mumbling so can’t tell). I’m still feeling sad over the whole thing. I’m not trying to make up front of the camera the story, but honestly, I feel very bad for the fans and (somethingsomething) you don’t believe I haven’t eaten my dinner for a couple of nights and, honest, I’m being, maybe I’m a little emotional.”

“The only thing I can put forward to my fans by saying we have your part of the family, whether they take it or not.”

I assume in the last line he's trying to say we're a part of the family whether we like it or not. Season ticket sales say otherwise, pal.

Just watched the interview, absolutely awful. Sounds like he has no idea what he's talking about. Reminded me of when that taxi driver walked into the BBC studios and they started asking him about the IT industry.

In fact I think he's more convincing than Venkatesh.

It seems our club is being run by either morons or criminals... maybe both. I desperately hope they sell or we as fans are going to have to worry about far more than just relegation.

The taxi driver was brilliant- especially the look on his face when he is introduced!

As for Venkatesh....

In fairness to Venkatesh as an individual, he is trying to get Mrs Desai to fire Kean, and its perfectly possible that he does feel some degree of misery over what's happening - he looks bad enough. But Venky's as an organisation are clearly a shambles. Utterly incapable of making the necessary decisions, such so that they even release an interview confessing that their decision-making process is non-existant.

Astounding.

Dont buy the we're confused stuff, it's claptrap.

Look at how quickly they dealt with Hunt, once that letter was publicly exposed.

Now they need a month to decide what exactly?

So you're all in shock, are you Venkatesh? Well, let me tell you a thing or two.

Within a matter of weeks of the Raos taking over the club, some supporters were telling you that you were taking the club in the wrong direction. You did nothing. You carried on regardless. Towards the end of your first season, more and more fans were doubting your [in]actions. We missed out on relegation by the skin of our teeth. You carried on regardless.

This season the majority of fans were telling you that things at the club had to change. Towards the end of this last season, the whole ground was telling you that things were dire. I don't think one fan was supporting your actions. Everyone, everyone was against the way you were running the club. We went down and you did nothing.

Well, actually, that's not true is it? You didn't just ignore the fans concerns, you didn't "not do anything" - you fought against anyone who dared tell you to change tack. We've had fans marching and staying in the ground after the game, because it was agreed that they could do that. What happened - the speaker system volume was turned up and they were drowned out. You banned banners inside Ewood in order to silence any protests. More than that, we saw the incredible sight of the stweards going into the crowd and physically confronting angry and worried fans. When Paul Hunt asked you to consider that the club was being run badly and you needed to heed the message, you did nothing until the letter became public, then you sacked him. When the whole ground was telling you that Kean had to go, you backed him. When Jerome A. launched a tirade against the rover's fans on national TV, we heard nothing from you - in effect, you backed him as well.

So you now portray this image of poor Indian owners who didn't expect this outcome. How far from the truth could that possibly be, when you actively fought against any voice who wanted to talk to you in good faith? Politicians were willing to talk to you, the sponsors were willing to talk to you and employees at the club were desperate to talk to you - they probably still are. You shunned the lot of them. Fans forum members went out to Pune and they did talk to you, but you lied to them.

Now then, we are in a position where season ticket sales are falling faster than ever before. Some fans reckon it's because people don't want to put money into your pockets. Well, the truth is that many of the people not renewing are doing so because they have been trying to get the message over to you, that you were putting the club into very dangerous waters, - but you have fought that viewpoint every step of the way, so the only other option they see, is to let you do, what you are intent on doing. There's nothing else they can say.

All this has been coming to a head since you bought the club. A club that was one of the most friendly clubs in the land has become a place of disappointment and hatred. You might argue that some of these actions haven't been ordered directly from Pune, but it's your club, it's your responsibility. You knew of the problems but fought against anyone telling you about them. You have to take responsibility for the last 18 months. There is another thread on here asking whether the fans would forgive you if Kean was sacked. Well, many fans would indeed come back to Ewood in the hope that you have changed direction. As for trusting you ever again, many would say "never". Many would say trust has to be earned and there's a hell of a long way to go before that happens.

My advice to you would be sell up. Get out because you have no future here.

Amen to this den- perfectly expressed.

Exactly! Players are released or sold, staff are sacked, all at the drop of a hat. Yet, Kean needs 4 weeks of thought. It's ######.

I am convinced Venkys are not calling the shots.

A week ago I posted saying that for things to change for the best that in the next month they HAD to get worse.

Radical solutions usually emerge out of total chaos.

This month to mid-June is easily the best month for things to get worse. Then people go on holidays and the EURO2012 is on.

We need radical action by the end of July, and then we stand a chance for the next Season, and 50% of the 'lost' supporters(maybe 5,000 season-ticketholders climbing back on board)

This is not optimistic thinking. I hope its realistic thinking,

They have been completely at war since Balaji blocked the sale to QIA last year.

Mrs Desai wants out, keeps Kean. The brothers apparently want Kean out but keep the club.

Result Rovers in a death spiral.

Of course there might be others involved/stirring the pot/exercising undue influence/call it what you will....

Why won't Mrs D listen to her brothers???

Would Rovers be a different club if the Rao's brothers had sole control??? bet Kean would have been sack ages ago!!!

Could the "confusion" be genuine confusion because of the ownership structure of the club?

Does a football agent have any shares in the club or some other hold over the apparent owners?

What is causing the confusion that prevents them from doing what any other responsible owners would do?

still too many unanswered questions!

Christ!! If you think its bad now what do you think it would be like with that fruitbat running the Club? He is completely off his head. Was that interview conducted from the asylum shortly after being admitted and being given a Keano hairdo?

Mirror headline says it all-no wonder they cant make any decisions if you need all 4 to agree on everything and you have incoherent goons like this involved in the decisions.

We can only hope Mrs Witch has decided she is selling up now and has booted these moronic brothers off to Siberia and this is a rant by an unhinged egg collector.
