[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

I know I'm grasping at straws but maybe that story is Kean and his agent getting their story ready for when he goes along the lines of "Venkys would'nt put any funds in to rebuild the team so I'm leaving".

I know its pipe dream but there's always hope.

As far as I'm concerned Kean told us to judge him at the end of the transfer window ---------August 2011.

What I find interesting - the supposed original list of targets included Witzel and Cisse - we can only wonder what type of season we would have had if Venky's had followed up their promise of investing in Rovers.

It's a good point DMTP, but after the last 18 months we can't give this liar any credit whatsoever in my book. Anyone with an ounce of decency would have walked when the idiots in Pune failed to deliver on promises, what did Kean do? Signed a revised contract....the mans a rat.

I wonder if the 15m he has asked for includes agents fees. 15m in the last 18 months would not pay for the transfer and agents fees for Rochina, Formica, petrovic, goodwille, dann and simon.

With wages on top, what a waste if money! Lucky to get 5m back for the lot

With Kean in charge? Another relegation battle, with us staying up on the last day of the season and Kean bagging the Manager of the Year Award.

Tabloid, plus it provides a steady income. Sacking Kean means more work to get back inside for Mr. Nixon.

This.

Nixon will know full well that Kean is hopelessly useless, well if he has 2 brain cells to rub together anyway.

I wouldn't give Kean £500,000 to spend on players never mind £15m. I just can't see there being truth in this theory that he had no say whatsoever on the transfers so far, it appears to be another example of shifting the blame from Kean to the owners.

I can guarantee now that if Kean stays and we do spend £15m Rovers will not get promoted next season. In a highly competitive league and with such a ###### manager in charge, it's just not going to happen.

I see what the OP is saying, but tbh Nixon seems more bothered with Notlob these days anyway...

I agree with Kean we would have under achieved - but watching Witzel last night, and Cisse since he joined Newcastle - I am sure we wouldn't have been fighting relegation in the way we were.

These players were never going to play for a joke Manager and joke owners(whoever they are).

Article in the Today's Sunday People(no link available till later today)

Steve Kean wants Blackburn's owners to give him £15 million to spend to get Rovers a return to the big time.

Kean is in talks with Venkys about giving him the cash to land instant promotion- an achievement he needs to save his job.

And the sum would see him buying better players than the recruits that cost the club relegation last season when Blackburn's transfer affairs were hit and miss.

Kean also wants to be put in charge of signings - unhappy that some players signed last season were done against his wishes.

The budget request will be a further test of Kean's relationship with Venky's, who are split over him staying on as manager.

I see the spin has started. Coco blames Venkys, Coco blames fans, Coco blames the pitch, Coco blames young squad. Never at fault are you Stevie? He's never blamed our mystery owners.

I know it is hardly a surprise but seeing all these other clubs making managerial moves, preparing for the new season, and we are just doing nothing.

We need all these cretins out of our club ASAP - it really is hell having these ###### as owners.

If that People story is Nixon's then forgive me if I'm a tad sceptical  this is the same guy who claimed we had a £50m transfer budget last summer, which looking back was never, ever going to be the case. He can blame it on "sources" misleading him but quite frankly anything he comes out with in regards to transfer budget is likely to be guesswork or an outright lie.

I have to admit this line made me laugh: "Kean is in talks with Venkys about giving him the cash to land instant promotion- an achievement he needs to save his job."

Yeah, because turning the entire fanbase against him, pissing off numerous players, getting arrested for drink-driving, embarrassing the club with a leaked video of him slagging off a fellow manager, and to top it all off getting the club comfortably relegated despite promising "100%" we wouldn't go down isn't enough to get him the boot  talking out of his arse is Nicko. He doesn't have a clue what it would take for Kean to lose his job - the most likely answer is that he cannot lose his job for as long as Venky's are in charge.

Seems like an SEM story planted to placate the fans.

But let's suppose it is true. If 15 mill was spent by Kean, what would it be spent on? Yeah that's right ... dross!

5 mill on players, 10 mill on them there agent thingy's :rover:

Because Kean claimed it, it's true? He is so close to Venkys he's their second skin.

No chance Venkys would part with the sort of money needed to buy quality players like that and Kean would know that.

This is more of the spin and lies we've had to endure for over 18 months already. Don't fall for it.

Anyone with an ounce of self respect would have walked if players forced in , kean wouldn't know respect if was attatched to the owd hags sex toy.

Maybe this is being slightly pedantic but with Cisse, we wouldn't have signed Yakubu so although he is a better player I doubt we would have finished that much higher. Also, my old housemate is Dutch and watches loads of European football and says there is no chance Witsel would have signed for a team outside the top 6 in England. Personally, I don't think Cisse would have signed for us either. WIth Kean in charge it wouldn't have surprised me in the slightest if we were relegated with Xavi and Iniesta.

The spin was from Nicko - whether he was fed it from a well known agent only he knows.

To be honest - we have a hole in a income versus wages of greater than £15m. It would be stretching it to think that Venky's would not only make up the wages hole - but also put in £15m for transfers - plus who would sign for us now ?

in bold how would that work ?

only one (2) ways to do that

1 remove coco

2 remove owners

i didn't say that it would placate them, i was meaning that that was the intention.

Personally speaking, only Venky's selling up, Kean's nutsack being nailed to the front door of the post office and kean himself getting hung from darwen tower would placate me.

According to his tweets on the subject, the 15m is to cover transfer fees, loans, wages, and agents fees Etc. Not expecting a great deal after that lot has been covered.
