[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

The man is completely out of control.

Yes he is Matty.

He has the power to say whatever he wants, to whoever he wants. There's no-one at Ewood with the authority to control him.

What a shambles.

I'm starting to believe the man must be mentally ill rather than just trolling big-style.

I mean, it doesn't really matter what he says or does, he keeps his job, so why the need to keep up this mindblowing facade that it's all rainbows & kittens at Ewood Park when we've just been relegated? There's putting a positive spin on things and then there's just insanity.

From the LT article:

He said the high wage bill in place from the Walker Trust’s days had turned the club into a ‘selling one’ and it was something they were left with sorting out.

“For the last 10 years it has always been around that mark,” he said. “What we’ve been as a club over the past 10 years is a club that has to sell.

“When your wages are so high as a percentage of turnover you have to be a selling club. And if you look back over the last 10 years we are the club that has sold the most. We have tried to balance the books by continually selling players.

OH, IS THAT RIGHT, you rancid iguana's scrotum? I thought we weren't a selling club anymore and that we had a budget that was miles bigger than anything we'd had in the past? You said so yourself last summer!

What a rancid, vile excuse for a man he truly is.

I'm not a violent person, but i'd take great pleasure in punching him straight in his ugly, poor skin conditioned likely caused by alcoholism face.

I think going down has possibly sent him over the edge into full-blown insanity - or maybe one of the alledged smacks he's received have removed what was left of his common sense.

Imo, telling Andy Cryer that he's 'been negative all season' is a sign that Kean has run out of arguments/excuses and had to resort to personal remarks. Andy is very well respected by many national journo's so I think we might see that tide turn full swing over the summer.

Kean might not get sacked or even be forced out, but the media now know exactly what he is. A first-class charlatan.

His whole persona has changed since Monday.

This man is on the ropes, won't take muck more to get a KO.

The body language, coupled with his remarks is one of a man either on medication, or needs medication !!

I agree, but we have to rely on the media to keep the preassure up. We as fans cant put the preassure on him now the season is over, because outside match day what we do or say doesnt effect him in anyway, but if he keeps getting mocked and slated in the media he just wont be able to ignore it.

Few months ago when the media turned on him he was really struggling but annoyingly after he got a 'shock' win they eased off him.

If Venkys wont go and they wont sack kean and he wont leave he has to be pushed

Brad Friedel has just tweeted:

"To everyone asking about Ryan: I'm sure he will speak when time is right. He, like myself, hold Rovers in high regard".

This is a ray of hope in a gray world..

Speak soon Ryan, tell it in an antipodean way.... "Straight".

Apologies if this has been posted but wow just wow

What a tool

Has this class A mug forgotten the litany of new deals given to half the squad barely 15 months ago????

I know it's the LET's job to report the facts but it is criminal to let these statements go unchallenged. He's a liar, pure and simple and it needs to be spelt out in big letters in whatever medium is available.

I’ve just seen his interview from Monday night, I’m livid again, how can he keep coming out with cr@p time and time again?

I’m going to have a coronary if he’s here much longer

KEAN BRACED FOR PLAYER DEPARTURES

By Phil Medlicott, Press Association Sport

Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is bracing himself for other clubs attempting to ``pick off'' the best players from his relegated team this summer.

Rovers were condemned to the drop on Monday when they lost 1-0 at home against Wigan, a game they needed to win to have any chance of preserving their Barclays Premier League status going into Sunday's final day clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

It has been a generally miserable season for the Ewood Park outfit, but there have been some notable performers in the side, including 17-goal striker Ayegbeni Yakubu and dynamic forward Junior Hoilett.

That duo, along with former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, are among the players at Blackburn likely to be the subject of interest from top-flight clubs when the transfer window opens and Kean is ready for the overtures.

The Scot - who insists he is staying with Rovers long term - has been eager to focus on the forthcoming mission of getting the club back into the Premier League and he is determined to try to keep hold of most of the playing squad.

``We know there is going to be interest, as there always is at times like this when a team gets relegated,'' Kean said.

``You have other clubs that will try to pick off the best of your players.

``There is going to be that interest, but we are attempting to keep the majority of the squad together and build a squad that can bounce back.''

Kean is under no illusion that quality players will be content in the second tier for long and has stressed the importance of making a swift return to the big time.

``We know that we have to bounce back quick like clubs have done in the past,'' Kean said.

``If you can keep the majority of your squad, you can probably only keep that for one or two seasons and if you don't get back up as quickly as possible, then your players are attracted to playing back at the highest level.

``We want to make sure it is us back playing at the highest level.''

It has been a tumultuous week for 19th-placed Rovers, with relegation being followed by the leaking of a letter written by deputy chief executive Paul Hunt to the club's owners Venky's in December calling for Kean to be sacked.

Rovers subsequently confirmed on Thursday that Hunt had left his position, although according to Venky's - who are adamant the club is not for sale - his departure was down to cost-cutting rather than the letter.

All the while, Kean has been trying to prepare his side for their final fixture and he has revealed that Bradley Orr will miss the Chelsea game after the defender had surgery on his Achilles tendon.

Additionally, there are doubts over Robinson, who is rated by Kean as ``touch and go'' due to an ankle injury, and midfielder David Dunn after he limped off in the first half of the Wigan contest.

Defender Gael Givet also had to be substituted in that match and Rovers have been unwilling to specify the nature of the problem, but Kean says that a specialist has given the all-clear for the Frenchman to play against the Blues.
