JAL Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 How can you discuss the future of a lunatic ? Just don't understand. Then again its like trying to discuss the simplicities of a footballer to Bradley Orrs agent.

Mercer Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Looks like he might just be sacked ! Venkat Ananth@venkatananth @Northern_Rover I think Kean will be sacked. That's the unconfirmed dope from here. Everyone wants to see him sacked. Mrs D will sack him.

philipl Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Before anyone gets their hopes up, yes there are voices in India absolutely certain Kean will be sacked on Tuesday but there are others close to Desai which suggest it will be business as usual. The proposal to move Agnew to CEO is for real apparently. Whether she falls for that one is an open question. Gullibility seems to be her strong point.

If this happens, I would think there will be a number of people walking through the exit door at Ewood voluntarily or otherwise !
gumboots Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 How can you discuss the future of a lunatic ? Just don't understand. Then again its like trying to discuss the simplicities of a footballer to Bradley Orrs agent. We're not discussing it. We've made a Mii of him on the Wii. Everyone else is on our favourites list so when you organise them by favourites, everyone else lines up together and he's at the back, on his own away from decent people. My husband takes great pleasure in grabbing him to edit but not bothering which leaves him squirming as you hold him by the neck. childish but relieves some of that awful feeling you get every time you see or hear him.

That's the unconfirmed dope from here. Everyone wants to see him sacked. Mrs D will sack him. Come on, we've been down this road before. Everyone was convinced after the Bolton game in December he'd be sacked, but nothing happened. Expect business as usual.

Gullibility seems to be her strong point. If that is true and does happen that will be some series of promotion that guy has had. From taking photos of people doing tours of the ground, to PR man to CEO, only with our owners!

Backroom DE. Posted May 12, 2012 Backroom Posted May 12, 2012 Same thing happened in December. People supposedly "close to Venky's", "ITK", etc etc assured us all there was no way Kean could stay and he'd be sacked. A week later and Kean was brazen as ever continuing to lead the club down the path to destruction. All is not what it appears at Rovers. Kean will not be sacked.
booth Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Not quite the same as in December. He's just literally lost them a ton of revenue.
RoyRover Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Until I see the ticker along Sky Sports saying "STEVE KEAN SACKED" I won't believe it. Even then, until I see a new manager doing a press conference, I won't be sure. Kamy said on the podcast that he has spoken to people who are close to the owners and they have said that Kean will be fired. But we have been down this road before, so I'm not getting my hopes up again. I just can't understand why it is that the owners won't sack Kean and what they actually see in him? Does Kean have some sort of stake in the club that means he can't be fired? We have just been relegated. He has been an abject failure. Is it that they are just clueless imbeciles or is there something else going on?

But if Mercerman vouches for him that's good enough for me!

She may be swayed by losing PL status and a ton of cash though. It's a new situation for her to deal with.
John Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Who is that Indian journo - is he basing his comments on any facts or does he have contacts at Venkys - seems confident Kean will be sacked.

Do you think it is just Steve Kean lying his tits off every time he talks, making every excuse under the sun and she just buys his fibs time after time? Steve Kean should be on Watch Dog on an edition of Rogue Traders. I would love to see your man on the motorbike door step him!

He's cheaper than a proper manager, he says "yes" to everything she says, he knows that to sack him she'd have to hand him a big fat wad of notes, and he knows that to get someone else of his ilk won't be easy.

gumboots Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I personally don't ever want to see anyone of his ilk at BRFC again. totally agree but whilst Venkys own us, Dawn, it would have to be someone with a similar moral and ethical profile or they would walk within days of starting work - either resigning on principal or sacked.

Looking through the rose tinted glasses and in full knowledge that this is a long shot - but could it be worth trying to tempt a rooky who might come as a temporary step - trying to get his name out there before moving on to something else. Far from ideal and raises big issues re. stability and such but, for me, infinitely more preferable than having Steve Brent do his weekly fans wind up.

Someone with a name to make seemed to be what tony Parkes was suggesting in that Sky interview. I just can't see how, with Venkys still in charge, anyone other than a kean type would stay long enough to make a name for himself. The kind of reputation you'd make under Venkys would probably be one you wouldn't want as they'd sack you as soon as look at you if you crossed them and if you conformed or to use that woman's phrase, toed the line, you'd be as poorly thought of in many quarters as Kean.

You're probably right, Gumboots. But if you came out and exposed the conditions you were having to work under - might some press guys (especially those that Agnew and co. have managed to irk in the pressers) laud you as a hero? Hmm, maybe that might have happened if we were still in the Premiership. Will any journalists be slightly interested now?
