[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

If venky's were smart they would have hired Ståle Solbakken, who Wolves recently acquired, and given him some funds. He would have fitted the bill perfectly with his charisma, no non-sense attitude and his tactical noun, in my opinion.

What about Hughton? ...IF in the slightest of chance kean is to be removed.

But as Henning Berg(yes, I'm using a few Norwegian references), said after the disastrous wigan game, he would never work with venkys.

With all the bad press of late, I think we can rule out quite a few managers. But a pay-day is a pay-day eh?

hughton wouldnt come here in a million years, berg, no thanks, not enough experience, we need someone who has been around the block a few times, i know some of you would choke on your dinner at this suggestion but i wouldnt mind mick macarthy at the club, he tells it like it is and get teams out of this league without spending big money

in the current state of things I'd welcome McCarthy with open arms. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but he's as honest as anyone in football is ever going to be and he cares. He genuinely has the dignity that some would try to say Kean has.

I wasn't implying that I wanted Berg, he is too inexperienced, but what I was trying to say was that managers might say no thanks if owners have a bad rep.

Anyway, I concur with those saying Mick McCarthy, he would be a decent choice.

Who is that Indian journo - is he basing his comments on any facts or does he have contacts at Venkys - seems confident Kean will be sacked.

A sample of his tweets, I'm sure we all know how to read the rest.

[/url] _MG_9690_3_normal.JPG Venkat Ananth@venkatananth @Northern_Rover I think Kean will be sacked. That's the unconfirmed dope from here. Everyone wants to see him sacked. Mrs D will sack him.

Kean thinks he has already had is review. Taken from dirty tackle http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-dirty-tackle/dt-exclusive-blackburn-chicken-conducts-steve-kean-season-175451680.html#more-11612

With one match left against Chelsea left to play, Blackburn have completed the alienation process with their fans by sealing their relegation from the Premier League after a dismal season of protests, anger and frustration. The following is a transcript of Blackburn manager Steve Kean's season-end performance review as conducted by the Blackburn Chicken.

Chicken: Thanks for coming in, Steve. I'd like to begin by saying...Wow. You're still here. That's...amazing. And if you can't tell by the tone of my clucks, I mean that in a bad way.

Kean: I am still here and I don't plan on going anywhere, either.

Chicken: Ha! That's cute. Anyway, let's get to your performance review. How has the team done under your leadership this season?

Kean: Well, we've been relegated. But the players fought hard and I believe that with a bit of investment, we can get right back up to the Premier League.

Chicken: That's chickens***, Steve. And how popular would you say you are with the fans?

Kean: There was a small segment that-

Chicken: No, Steve. They literally want to blast you into the sun. I'm a chicken. A delicious chicken. And they want to kill me less than they want to beat you with your own head. In fact, they willingly put me on the pitch instead of eating me. You? Not so much.

Kean: I think you're overstating it a bit, but-

Chicken: Now, if you had to rate your personal performance this season, where would you put yourself on a scale of Andre Villas-Boas to a bag of medical waste?

Kean: I don't, uh, I don't know how to answer that question.

Chicken: Wrong again, Steve. I'll be honest with you: This isn't going well at all.

Kean: Neither did our season, but that didn't stop me.

Chicken: Touche. You've just outwitted a chicken. Be proud of yourself, Steve.

Kean: Thanks.

Chicken: Next question: Would you like to take over Manchester United when Sir Alex retires? But before you answer, be warned that this is a joke I'm making to point out that such a thing will never happen in real life.

Kean: OK, well, I would still consider it if the job was on offer to me.

Chicken: Steve...come on. Now I'm just starting to feel sorry for you and I'm not even sure chickens have the capacity for emotions like that.

Kean: Yeah, I meant to ask earlier. Do you even work for the club? I mean, you're a chicken so I figured there was some relationship with the Venky's people, but...

Chicken: Steve, I'm a chicken. You're talking to a chicken right now.

Kean: Right.

Chicken: That's all you've got? Really?

Kean: Yes.

Chicken: Fine, well, this has just gotten sad and uncomfortable for me. So, I'm going to say you passed your review even though this isn't a real performance review and it's all just a figment of your fevered imagination, Steve.

Kean: I passed! Cheers, chicken.

Chicken: Any time, Steve.

THis man is a disgrace, he is totally knocked,

Skewed views

By first time of asking is he meaning, like we were a champions league outfit, or we will not be relegated, Hoilletts about to sign a new deal, or Samba is Going nowhere, or Phil Jones is staying or which other of his not truths do I parallel this to. "The owners are emotionally bonded" Sorry but he is off his rocker, Dave Whelan showed more emotion than any of these clowns. IF they are so bonded why were they not there cheering us on. Wait he could be telling the truth but just which form of emotion is he referring to. Bog off Kean and take your arse licked Indians with you. When you are eventually cast a side, and you will be nothing is more certain, I hope you never are allowed to set foot inside a football club again unless it is as a paying customer. I hate you more than I hate my ex. I probably hate you more than I do Burnley.

I almost forgot, I was done with this fowl individual they day he blamed the fans for his drunk driving, but true to form as he did on the pitch he showed no imagination and had a bunchof his cronies spread the word that the fans were to blame for the clubs plight. A claim which is as baffling to me as it is the number of idiots who bit and tried to hammer it home. Not a whisper about Arse fans planning protests was there.

Let me ask you, one and all. Will slimeball kean's firing be enough for you, will it restore some form of faith in the club and it's owners. NOt me though I will be happy when he is gone it will not be enough I have no confidence in this group to make the right appointment, in fact I am very concerned about who will be actually making it. Nope this club needs disinfected from top to bottom, anyone connected with the parasites from Pune needs to be out on their ear.

it's Desai. The rest want him out and for some reason she won't budge. She may be swayed by losing PL status and a ton of cash though. It's a new situation for her to deal with.

I simply don't believe this version of events. It makes absolutely no sense for her to put faith in someone she barely knows and has done nothing but have scorn heaped upon her family.

Two options are far more likely for me, either - 1. Kean is doing EXACTLY the job Venky's want him to be doing, as evidenced by his huge salary increase + new contract when in the relegation zone or 2. It isn't really Desai or the Raos who are making the decisions but somebody else. Somebody very close to Kean and with his best interests at heart, perhaps...

Looking back at the Myles Anderson signing, doesn't that say it all?

No, Kean's just the symptom. The disease is far more deeply embedded.

“I have heard that Mrs Desai does not like anyone speaking negatively so that can be the only reason, Kean keeps saying the opposite of what is actually the case. Saying these are exciting times? How can relegation be exciting?

“The last 18 months have been terrible for the football club and, unless things change, the future will be as well.”

Indeed, Tony, indeed :(

Very telling paragraph about Desai from Tony there. I often wondered why Kean used the word "positive" so much. As many others have said he really is just speaking to her in every interview. What a weak, vile little man he really is

they were @ playoff when he got sacked but ye they got relegated. Cologne is very chaotic club, they media were against him even before the season started, basicly because he removed some of the very strict german dicipline, introduced zone defense instead of man to man and removed podolski as team captain. This is a team that has changed manager 16 times over 10 years!

even though his results werent good there i think he did a good figure. he didnt get any money to sign any new players and he was quite popular among the fans because he was honest and met fans face to face to take critizism and discussions at numerous times. also his good relationship with podolski helped him to keep his job longer.

In my eyes he is one of the biggest manager talents in europe. Its a bold choice by wolves, because championship is a very touch league, but i think he can do wonders with them and mabe stabilize them in the Premier league.

His results at copenhagen were exellent, qualifying to the champions league group stage for the first time knocking out ajax at the qualifying stage.

He also managed to get them to the round of 16 in his last season, drawing against Fc barcelona in the group stage and playing a draw @ stamford bridge in the round of 16 knockout stage.

Would have loved if rovers had signed him but he would never have signed for rovers with the current owners anyway.

Finnaly someone said it in the public eye, well done T you always were a good'un.

The word "legend" is a well-worn over-used phrase, but fully deserved in TP's case.

If only he could rescue us again.

What a damned bloody mess we're in.

We'd still have him here if it wasn't for Venky's too.

Or that Kean has some proof of wrongdoings by Venkys? Like knowledge of the (alledgedly) true involvement of JA.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head there mate...hence whilst Venkys own the club Kean stays in charge unless he's paid a very very handsome hush money and Agnew ends up CEO..our worst case scenario
