EwoodDawn Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 no, i would prefer kean gone, he clearly doesn't have the experience or the backing to manage the club. point is, he may not be gone, if not then the next best option is to get good talent on the squad...even an idiot manager can look good with good talent. i'm just curious who would be interested in the blackburn job at this point. as i said its a unique challenge - you lose all your players, you have limited funds, fan base needs to be won back, and an ownership base that knows nothing about football. a manager that could deal with this type of adversity and bring the club back would be a legend in the making at rovers - but who would be interested at this point...thoughts? Tony Parkes Caretaker Manager extraordinaire has done it 6 times already. Would he do it for a seventh time? He bleeds blue and white but I believe he might have been treated rather poorly in his role as a scout recently for Venky's Rovers...

Dunnfc Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 If he moves to the academy etc, is he sacked or has he got a promotion?
AllRoverAsia Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 My link ''MK Dons would not want to lose Robinson, but the Liverpool-born manager is believed to have his admirers within the corridors of power at Ewood Park.'' - there's nobody in the corridors of power at Ewood apart from Mr. & Mrs. Coco when they get back from their expenses paid holiday.
bypass06 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Would not be my 1st choice but given the criteria mentioned then perhaps Karl Robinson of MK Dons might be up to the task ? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11676/7762516/Robinson-in-Rovers-frame
G Somerset Rover Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 If he moves to the academy etc, is he sacked or has he got a promotion? Basically, if he stays in ANY capacity, then he will have the ear of Desai no matter who we brought in. Kean would call the shots, not the new guy. The bald weasel needs to be completely out of the club.

anindianfan Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 He said on SSN "not under these owners." whoever the bring has to be seasoned, and have some balls...this is not the time to try out some rookie with no experience. the guy will have to put up with a lot stupidity and have the intelligence, and diplomatic skills to get things done. my view is it has to be someone older with credibility and experience, dont think robinson would be a good fit.

Please let it be known that Owen Coyle or anyone else who shares the same agent as Steve Kean would not be a popular appointment.

Souness is the man but he would have to call most of the shots on the playing side and that don't look like it will ever happen under this regime 'Robinson started coaching at Liverpool's academy before working as a coach at Blackburn under Paul Ince, where he was credited with developing the likes of Phil Jones, Junior Hoilett and Grant Hanley.' christ, not another one??!! Big Sam kept him on when he came in after Ince.

You keep posting in the wrong thread, this one is about Keans future
anindianfan Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Souness is the man but he would have to call most of the shots on the playing side and that don't look like it will ever happen under this regime wasn't aware anyone on venkys knew enough to even call shots as to who they play...pretty sure they barely know the name of the starting 11 if that.
windymiller7 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Taxi Driver@PrestonTaxi 2 suits I just dropped off at rail were something to do with #rovers & from what I could hear Steve Kean is sacked with all ties severed. This is probably the best indication !!! Experience tells me that very often the cat is let out of the bag naively - and this just might be one of them !!! Are the suits damaged or just the ties?! (sorry!)
Mercer Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Tony Parkes Caretaker Manager extraordinaire has done it 6 times already. Would he do it for a seventh time? He bleeds blue and white but I believe he might have been treated rather poorly in his role as a scout recently for Venky's Rovers... Don't think he'd touch it with a sh1tty stick. See him at driving range occasionally and although immensely loyal to 'old Rovers', feel that he's been wounded a fair old bit. Understand they wanted him to scout South America - clearly not his backyard.
CrouchingNunhiddenCucumber Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Realistically if Kean does go then Robinson from MK will be the calibre of manager we should expect - no one who has managed at the top level will go near Rovers whilst Venkys are in charge whereas Robinson may see it as a chance to move to a bigger club with a few decent players. I would welcome him with open arms, he seems to have done pretty well with MK and will be hungry to prove himself. Let's be honest anyone but Kean - beggars can't be choosers - don't eat cheese before noon etc. .
roversmum Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 wasn't aware anyone on venkys knew enough to even call shots as to who they play...pretty sure they barely know the name of the starting 11 if that. Oh, but they do. They know names and strengths and weaknesses of each squad member. Not sure about calling shots as to whom is played but we have had some pretty odd line-ups over the year.
sjsbrfc Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 So to sum up. The meeting's ended but nobody knows what's happened?
Tugay-is-God Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Over-active agent? To Leicester To Leeds To Forest To Rovers
Rovermatt Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 The meeting's ended but nobody knows what's happened? This includes Venky's.
EwoodDawn Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Let's be honest anyone but Kean - beggars can't be choosers - don't eat cheese before noon etc. . Speaking of which, surely the coffee and after dinner mints have been consumed over in Pune by now - surely enough time to digest whatever required a bit of pondering?
Mattie456 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Tony Parkes Caretaker Manager extraordinaire has done it 6 times already. Would he do it for a seventh time? He bleeds blue and white but I believe he might have been treated rather poorly in his role as a scout recently for Venky's Rovers... He was managing my team at a charity tournament at Ewood last week. I asked him about working for rovers again. He just laughed and said JA does the scouting now. Would love to see him involved again. A genuine football guy and all round nice chap.
Backroom Tom Posted May 17, 2012 Backroom Posted May 17, 2012 If he was safe would he not have been on to Sky Sports by now though?
