Recommended Posts

Just had a text from a pretty good source, Kean sacked, announcement tomorrow!!

Am trying to obtain more info!!

Kelbo has pretty good sources.

Good enough confirmation, especially coupled with our sharp taxi driver friend.

I think it's no coincidence that the telegraph has run the Hoilett story regarding him leaving on the day the 'manager' is meeting the owners.

Well done Andy Cryer and the telegraph, indirectly trying to push him over the edge! Let's hope it works.

is anyone else like me? couldnt really give a toss anymore, this whole saga has bored me to tears, im starting to lose interest

No because the moment you hear he's gone will be on a par with where were you when Kennedy was shot or where were you when you heard Elvis had died etc. It will be somthing that you tell your kids about.

Its all a bleedin farce, does anyone have any confidence that the idiots in Pune will get a half decent replacement? I certainly don't, but I'd love to see the smug grin wiped off Keans face.

i've said from the start venkys have done horribly, although i truly believe they have been well intentioned but pretty inept and buffoonish. kean should never even have come close to managing a premier league squad. that being said i won't stand for crude comments.

my question though is who is best positioned at this point from a managerial perspective to meet the enormous challenge that it will take to bring rovers back to the premiership. half the team will be gone, there will be limited funds and a huge fan base to win back. would take a special manager to meet this challenge.

First of all there would be just wild celebrations if Kean got the boot.

I agree about Venkys, I don't think there was anything but the best intentions on their part. I personally think they were so badly advised that should be looking at legal action, but that's just a personal opinion. I certainly don't think it's too late for Venkys to build bridges, and getting rid of Kean would be the undoubted massive step towards that.

Second, I don't think they should be looking for a manager, that's where they've been going wrong. They need to understand that the manager of a football club isn't like the manager of a business or a factory. They need to be looking for a good CEO - the chairman as he used to be.

I'd break the bank if I was them to bring back John Williams, if that was at all possible. If not, someone else well respected in the game. John Williams wasn't a Rovers fan when he came, but he left one. Let that person choose the manager, and let that person come over to India for the monthly meetings.

Leave the football manager to do his thing.
