[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

It seems the 2 incidents today with our owners are identical do we see a pattern emerging they put it out there they are looking for a new manager everyone knows you fire a manager first then hire someone decent or if you do it that way you interview people in secret and you do it before the end of the season so someone is in place come the summer if rumours are to be believed. It's the same with next season's strip they release it now with no sponsor and then agree to put the sponsor on when it is confirmed everyone knows in football you sort out the sponsor well before their deal expires with this lot the horse has bolted etc... do something now then consider the consequences what I am saying most sane business plan things in advance then execute those plans this lot don't think they act now then they realise their mistakes how these people can be classed as proper business people is beyond a joke I only hope they do what is right tommorrow or we could be royally screwed.

He has sat there and stayed quiet whilst they

1)Got the bonus of a 2nd year of PL income-beyond their dreams

2)got rid of the debt by selling Jones, Samba

3)let em get rid of all the high earners and therefore reduce the wage bill massively

4)put up with cheap replacements on lower wages that he probably didn't want or even know about

5)put kids in who by playing have probably increased in value at least a bit

6)continued to back the owners in the face of ridiculous opposition from everyone in blackburn

7)can hold the fort without complaining whilst they sell more players this summer and cut wages even more

8)hold the fort till Parachute money comes

At that point they all have their money out and what ever they then sell it for can be divided up between em all

That makes it a hard decision to get rid if your a Venky as the replacement would not be so willing to act like he has.In other words he has nearly done his job for Venkys.

Is that not why there is so much debate in India today and no decision??????

I work with a number of Rovers fans - and the concensus seems to be that if they keep Kean they won't be attending home matches.

I'm not renewing, neither is my sister and her boyfriend and I was talking to someone today who's husband and their 5 sons are not going if Kean stays.

In total including myself I know of 23 ST holders not renewing. So if you multiply that by thousands Ewood will be a ghost town

Such a little weasel the fact he has never said a bad word against the Rao family who are up there with the worst owners football has ever seen - imagine a new manager/normal person putting up with Venkys, can't see it.

say kean keeps his job and venkys continue their horrible ways as thay have done, will anyone still be happy to continue putting money into the club and attending games into next season?

No. I hate the fact that I'm being forced to keep away from the club I love, but ethically I cannot willingly give money to support a crooked regime run by half-baked cretins and their nefarious bitch-monkey. 30 years a fan, and 20-odd a season ticket holder but no more until Kean goes.

Only decision is where to spend my Saturday afternoons - Chorley or Stanley?

I must admit that I'm rapidly getting to the point where I no longer care if Kean is sacked or remains. Our owners are completely out of their depth and even if they got rid of Kean I don't believe that any manager worth their salt would work for these people. I really don't see how they turn this around even if they sack Kean. We have lost our Premier League status and are unlikely to get it back anytime soon. The time to change the manager was last summer.

Hunt warned Desai in December about the way the club was going but she took no notice and instead allowed the club to slip into the Championship. While Kean is the hate figure on the touchline Desai is the real problem at the club. Her mismanagement of the club is the reason we were relegated. If she had kept Sam, or if she had appointed a decent replacement and kept our experienced players we wouldn't be looking at playing the likes of Barnsley and Millwall next season instead of United and Arsenal.

Sadly, I suspect thousands of Rovers fans are going to walk away next season no matter who the manager might be.

I think the rest of the football community will be watching. In any conspiracy, the more people involved sooner or later the leaks will appear.

Big Sam will have far more friends in football than Kean. Biggest pal being Fergie. People within the game will be gunning for Kean. His card is well & truly marked.

Kean has shown he has loose lips.

Loose lips, sink ships!

It will unravel. How much of a mess left behind is the question.

As for us fans, boycott, protest, direct action. That has to continue. We can not give in. We know our club has fallen to the biggest con trick ever in football. Think of those involved, do whatever you can to get them out.

Typical Left wing response, we can't come up with an argument so we'll ridicule and hope people follow.

The reasons why have been well documented so there's no need to go over old ground. If you really believe what you are saying you know nothing about football.

You're spot on about Desai.

If Kean survives this then I see no point in focusing on him. The root cause will need to be addressed and that is Mrs Desai and by extension Venky's. Kean will just be an ongoing symptom of their mismanagement of the club.

All very true. Any ideas how we are going to oust a woman and a company based on another continent thousands of miles away and which does not communicate ?

Not often i stoop so low as to side with you Jim. But sacking Big Sam was probably the second craziest thing Venky's have done. I readily admit that i thought the football was pretty, well, ummmm, industrial under Sam and i can't say i'll ever wax lyrical to my grand children about his golden age. But it was as close to a nailed on guarantee as you could get to ensuring PL football.

Anyway, this has all been said before.

This delay in announcing Kean's sacking or backing can be taken neither one way nor the other. My gut feeling says he'll still be here, but who knows? The one thing i have learned is never predict Venky's. My main source of hope is the delay would allow them to can him at a point in time when his good lady wife isn't around. Sadly, i think the delay is probably more likely to be attributed to them looking into the financials of sacking him. This could be the most expensive sacking they've had to make. I think they'll probably decide it'll be too costly and they'll back him with a meagre sum and we'll see some real toss at Rovers next season.

Stupid women! so she can stay proud and save face and not be seen to give in to fan pressure she overlooks the fact that Kean has just lost her 40 million a year and goes on drinking binges trying to big himself up by yet again lying.

If she was the head of my board in business I would be voting to oust her out with a vote of no confidence, I wonder how many bad business decisions over the years she has made that have cost their chicken industry money.

Foul beast!

The only way to make your point is to not renew, to not buy any merchandise & hit them in their wallets.

Protest outside the ground, but don't give them any money.

And Chorley, Flitcrofts manager & Jansen plays for them iirc (well I think they did last year)

The club's in fibrillation, we need to stop the heart so we can get it to live again.

Matty is part-time for them, but Flitty is still manager, with his son being captain, I believe.
