[Archived] Steve Kean's Future Set To Be Discussed

Recommended Posts

Jesus wept, he's still not been sacked then I see, despite me having to catch up on a dozen pages. Can't these ###### moronic half-arsed dopey ###### just ###### get on with it and bin the no-good smug smarmy no-talent skid-mark? What do they need to sack him, a map?! Bloody hell-fire. No wonder the club's going to the dogs.

As for Dougie Freedman, Alan Nixon says he's a "gem", so no bloody thank you. Is he with SEM as well? I bloody bet he is.

If we get someone barely adequate in who doesn't lie, back-stab and isn't evil, I'd consider it a major improvement. However, it looks like it's taken Venky's 18 months to sack someone who was absolutely pigging useless, they can't make a decision to save their lives, so what chance do we have of appointing someone half decent?

all these names, yet are any one of them gonna want to work under venkys lot?

Or have they learnt?? we can only hope so.

I wanna see a straightshooter, someone who talks sense and honestly if Venky's manage to give us that it will show they are learning.

If it's another yes man reccomended by an agent they might as well have kept Kean.

I know for a fact Salgado is not quiet on the whole affair - he is ready to talk and l asked Martin Blackburn if now is the time for the story to go live

@MMACookie I wish I could - all I've got is the nod that he wants to speak when the time is right - and that it'll be good!

A couple of reliable sources telling me that Venketesh met Alan Curbishley last Sunday at the Royal Kensington Hotel, while Balaji prefers Holloway, but has been told by his reps that him being interested is dependent on the result tomorrow.

GOOD START!!

If like Kamy says Holloway is an option Venkys want, he would be a brilliant appointment if we could get him.

Ignoring his crazy outbursts I think he is a brilliant manager, look what he did with blackpool he got some of them players playing above their capability, just look at vaughen and charlie adam now they both look 100% championship quality without being under Holloway.

We can move to potential new managers once Kean sacking is confirmed (which it isn't at the moment). To get a decent manager almost certain that Venky's will have to change the way they have been working over the last 18 months, no chance any decent manager will accept the Job if Venky's don't change the way they work.

Anyhow, let's get Kean confirmed first and then move on from there.

I was up for B'Pool tomorrow, now i want West ham to win. I would love Holloway at Rovers. Talented, passionate and can build a winning team on peanuts. All it needs now is Mercerman's approval...

More importantly who does the matriarch prefer?

Ricky Tomlinson?

I'm starting to come round to Balaji (cautiously). Its clear he is the one that tried hardest to sort out the terrible mess.

He's wanted Kean out since before Wigan Away -Only his stubborn sister prevented it.

It's clear Rovers means more to him than it does the rest of the owners.

IF he delivers on his promises (His last interview) then he MAYBE he deserves some credit.

I'm not English, Pakistani, Indian, West Indian, South African, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan or Australian. Thus I come across about as much coverage of cricket as I do dwarf tossing. The fact that I can name some Test nations, or even know what that is, means I know more about cricket than at least 95% of the Swedish population.

You have an excuse for not knowing, as someone else has said, Shane Warne, Brian Lara, etc. But Brett Lee is different. Not knowing him from cricket is one thing but...

Brett Lee has been in a Bollywood film.

No excuse for not knowing him from cinema :P

Think Holloway made some unflattering comments about Venky's last season, can't see him coming.

Hate to be a party-pooper, but even with a change of manager, the club is in an absolute state and I would still want Venky's to go.

So would i but, if the rumours are true, then just for tonight i will love em!

I doubt Holloway would leave Blackpool. He seems settled there and Blackpool suits him down to the ground. He's got a good thing going there. Why take a sideways step? Or are we saying we are a nicer prospect under the current owners? ;)

Thats true, He has been tearing up tree's this season with IMO an even weaker team, TBH I got the impression he would see ANY other championship club as a sidestep..but Holloway is very unpredictable so you never know IF venkys offered him a decent transfer budget mixed with our much better facilities he may find it an attractive offer. *fingers crossed*

Edit - I do think It is time for Holloway to test himself somewhere new (if they dont get promoted) Not sure if we would be the right place, but there isnt many other options, haha Chelsea wont have him, Liverpool fans are so far up themselves they cant stand the idea of MARTINEZ who is clearly a top manager I rate him far higher than David Moyes (who has spent much more money than the pundits admit)

Curbishley would be a good call (assuming he's not linked to Anderson). I remember when he was well ensconced at Charlton in the mid to late 90s and we were looking for a manager - during one of the Harford / Hodgson / Kiddo sacking periods - he was being linked with us then and said in a radio interview (clearly referring to coming to Blackburn although it was implicit rather than explicit) that it would be interesting to go to a club with money to see how he could do. It struck me then that he would have been happy to leave Charlton even at that time, and against all expectation, indeed come north, but in the end, he got overlooked.

Of course, we aren't exactly awash with money these days either, but we can live in hope.

At least he wouldn't give us any BS, a great antidote to the lunacy of Kean. In fact, he'll never go to a club where his honest, deadpan demeanour will be so well appreciated as Rovers, right now.

I think if he goes Andy Cryer deserves massive kudos for this, in the second day we all heard the Hoilett rumour about resigning, Andy got onto the closest possible contact to Hoilett to get some clarification and got a story on the net within minutes about Hoilett leaving.

Going off his tweets and pieces in the paper since Christmas Andy has worked all hours non stop to get a break for the fans, I know it's his job but he has also gone the extra mile and he is not even a Rovers fan.

Good job Andy Cryer.

I'm not hammering you for this, Beer. But IMO he stayed quiet for far too long!

how many of his exclusives come off / or are his ?

He'd struggle without Twitter.

Some chefs work long hours, but their food can still taste like S***

Isn't he a Bristol City fan? It shows you how far your own club's fallen when you're jealous of Bristol City supporters

So your suggesting I'm jealous of a Bristiol city fan??

The guy has done a sterling job in getting Kean out of the door and deserves some recognition for it.

If you want to live in the past and pretend we are such a better club than them you can ask them in a few months when we play them.

I stick to my guns the guy has worked hard for Rovers fan or not.

Agree with your comments about Balaji, from what we hear he seems to be the one with the interest in Rovers doing well. Shame he seems to have little influence. If what Kamy says is true about Holloway and Curbs it also suggests he's asking the right people about potential managers.
