Majiball
And used to working with crazy owners. That's only cause he's mental. I'll never forget him running into the mud at training as a way to inspire his team. Anyway can one assume that if they have sacked him they aren't likely to sell anytime soon? Jock
I doubt Holloway would leave Blackpool. He seems settled there and Blackpool suits him down to the ground. He's got a good thing going there. Why take a sideways step? Or are we saying we are a nicer prospect under the current owners? Blackpool have been up-front about Holloway getting a cut of player sales, dont know the percentage or if he's had to bring them through the youth system.Or if its value he has put on them. Nothing wrong with this if its all shown on the books and if it part of your wage. You can argue about 'conflict of interest' but if its done by a genuine guy it shouldnt be a problem. A bigger wage packet and no player sales add ons has got to be a better system though.

EwoodDawn
Have just come home from a Ladies evening (during which the top star other half has kept me posted via surreptitious* text messages) and I'm afraid I couldn't resist the urge - everyone was giving it some wellly to 'Cheer up sleepy Jean'... Well, would you? I did it quiet-ish-ly and I dont think anyone really noticed. Does that make me a bad person? *i do hope you realise tha after spending a few hours consuming alcohol with female friends, it took me about 15 mins to work through the spelling of that single word only for spell check to tell me I'd missed a bar steward r out after my pointless toil. beerwins
I'm not hammering you for this, Beer. But IMO he stayed quiet for far too long! how many of his exclusives come off / or are his ? He'd struggle without Twitter. Some chefs work long hours, but their food can still taste like S*** Fair enough, the guy has to remain partial though, he is writing a for a local paper not Rovers fanszone. How many other Journos have managed to get exclusives with Venky's ? I can name only one. I'm just saying I dont think some guys realise how hard he has had to work to get even the slightest comment from Venky's who he has rung evey day since Christmas. RibbleValleyRover
I hate to be fickle but if Venky's sack Kean, appoint a proper manager who the fans can unite behind and give him some funds then I would be happy to give them some more time. That doesn't mean that I am not seriously hacked off with the way the club has been run, it's been a complete shambles since day one. But the situation even though dire and bleak is still recoverable in the long-term providing Venky's are willing to put in the hard graft and are willing to change. Sack Kean appoint a proper manager and that’s a good starting point on the long road to recovery.

roverandout
we need an experienced manager now, ince, kean didnt work, so forget clark, freedman, neither of whom have achieved anything yet, we need a no-nonsence manager like mccarthy or curbishley, holloway would be great too, i feel like dancing but i dont want to be premature. He'd struggle without Twitter. Some chefs work long hours, but their food can still taste like S*** I'm gonna have to stick up for Andy Cryer here bud. It's not about exclusives in a local paper. He's had one monumentally difficult job trying to balance the fans view without alienating the paper from the club. He's pulled the trigger a couple of times, and Steve Dickface has tried to make him look like a pillock. It's been a ###### time for anyone connected with the club. RoyRover
Gotta be Curbishley or Souness, with more realistic options of managers with a proven track record of getting teams promoted They would be at the top of my list, followed by Lee Clark and Karl Robinson. But would they work for lunatic owners like ours? I doubt it, unless Venky's seriously cleaned up their act, conceded that how they have done business to date has been a total disaster and look to put the correct structures in place for the club to run smoothly, with open lines of communication. As for the rumors about Steve Kean going, lets all pray to whatever Gods we d believe in (or don't!) that this turns out to be true. As much as I want him out for the awful job he has done, I would take greater pleasure from the idea that a reporter would ask him; "So Steve, after the Wigan game you said you weren't going anywhere. At next days news conference you said that you were at Rovers for the long term. After the Chelsea game you stated that the owners still backed you fully. And now you have been sacked. What happened?" The thought of that weasel having to face such questions after all his declarations is more thrilling than him to just being fired! Why take a sideways step? Or are we saying we are a nicer prospect under the current owners? Not sure we're a sideways step. Brockhall is fantastic, a lot better than Blackpool's facilities. Bigger stadium, bigger profile, bigger fanbase, bigger club generally = more potential. I'd say we still have better players even if a lot of the good ones go, it's just that we've been managed by a complete tit for 18 months who would make Messi look average. Also lots of talent in the youth team. Obviously it all depends on the club building some trust with the fans again to get us back to Ewood. If they sack Kean that would be a start and would suggest that the lack of ST renewals is a big worry for them.

I'm not sure that owning a football club really needs be a lot of hard graft. Surely the hard graft would be done by the chairman, board, manager, coaching staff, and everyone else they just need to appoint sensibly and then leave to get on with it. Do those things and they can come and sit and smile and wave from the directors' box safe in the knowledge the booing is aimed at the opposition once more. Fully agree Like I said earlier its completly In venkys hands they VERY luckily have a chance for a fresh start, but they have to get it RIGHT there isnt any room for compromise one slip up and the fans will let them know about it, and they either have to get better communication with the fans or get a decent & honest chairman who will. sijoco
I think as a fan base there has never been one moment when the entire foundation and everyone of us over that foundation has been in unison for one outcome. Here's praying.

Rovermatt
If Kean is no longer an employee of the club, there is absolutely no way he'll give anybody the opportunity of milking any satisfaction from that fact. He'll go to ground and emerge a year from now, hoping that nobody notices. Without Agnew to fight his battles for him, he'd not stand a chance against any kind of engaged interviewer. NotPotter
Holloway's family is very important to him, having nursed his wife through cancer and a lot of his life decisions were made to provide the best future for his children, of which 3 of the 4 are deaf, 2 of which are profoundly deaf. Although he lives in the North West now, I wouldn't imagine he would want to unsettle things at home. There's also the small matter of a Championship Play-off final tomorrow that could also tip over that little apple cart resting on a cloud.
