Seggie Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I know 'contracts' are in place with the current incumbents but Kean could coach Blue Star under nines and Agnew write the team sheet re same. Thats tight on Blue Star under 9s, they are probably a better run club than BRFC these days

darrenrover Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 ..or just walk! I know the two Ians very much have the best interests of BRFC at heart and would do wonders for the club given the chance. The whole BRFC scenario beggars belief. Everyone like me love the club and like me the memories surrounding Rovers are foremost in our memories. For me: ' 69 at Ewood v City, Jim Fryatt scored for us, Halifax floodlight failure etc. Whilst I could go on, the worrying factor for me is that our heritage may go down the pan and we won't have a future. Unless Venkys either come clean with a realistic vision for the future and a financial plan to achieve it, our offspring will not be able to relate to BRFC as part of their heritage. How sad is that, unless we try to change it!
bob fleming Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Well said Seggie. I wouldn't wish these tossers on anyone, let alone Blue Star. Not even burnley. I mean back in the day Bondy was just crap, but Kean makes John Bond look like Bill Shankly in comparison. Then again, in all fairness to Kean, he is trying really really hard. Anyway, bring on the two Ian's and Khan. Hopefully there can be some sort of supporter involvement as well. It will end in tears otherwise. Time to go Kean. Time to go Venkys. You've had your fun. I really wouldn't push it much further if I were you.
Tardyrover Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 You say the two Ian's have the funds but I bet the two valuations are mile apart. BRFC, as a company, has a guaranteed income of £48m over the next 4 years from the parachute payments. So what does that make the company worth? VENKYS OUT OUT OUT

BRFC, as a company, has a guaranteed income of £48m over the next 4 years from the parachute payments. So what does that make the company worth? VENKYS OUT OUT OUT and guaranteed expenditure of about £100million.So if they leave their £52million behind everybodys straight.
Hughesy Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 BRFC, as a company, has a guaranteed income of £48m over the next 4 years from the parachute payments. So what does that make the company worth? What a stupid statement - They also have a wage bill of at least £25m a year to pay too...among other costs

Rovermatt Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Given his obvious clout, Roy Keane will undoubtedly be discouraging any possible takeover. He, Paulo Agneson and the charming Anders Joremeson are unlikely to be in favour of an end to the gravy train.
glen9mullan Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Being told that why all attention has been on kean , Agnew and Venkys silence , this has advanced to the stage that someone who has wore the blue and white halves was approached last Friday to be the new manager under this particular takeover. This is a lot more advanced than i realised,
Veevs Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 That would be a revelation should Currie and batters manage to pull this off.. I would not expect Venkys to sell. As for the manager.. blimey.. Berg and Tugay spring to mind instantly as the only recentish players to move to any form of management/coaching although would like Savage for some odd ball reason. Still it is late.. and have been on the wine so may of missed some more obvious candidates (shudders at the though of Mr Motivator Shearer.. then again compared to Kean.. why the hell not).
Salgado Is A Hero Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Altho Shearer would most likely be a bad choice at the end of the day if he wasn't getting the results he would most likely be fired. Would love Tugay for his legendary status and if it wasn't working could be moved to assistant....but if he managed as well as he could play then Kean's prediction of Champions League in a few years time could turn out to be true. Henning Berg was recently sacked as Lillestrom manager. Dominic Matteo has been doing his coaching badges. Ossie Ardiles has managed quite a few teams. Garry Flitcroft is managing Chorley. Simon Grayson is at Huddersfield. Mark Hughes is at QPR haha...if only. Jeff Kenna has been managing in Ireland. Tim Sherwood is assistant first team coach at Spurs. Chris Sutton has recently managed Lincoln. Chris Coleman has recently become Wales manager. There are probably others.
glen9mullan Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Got a few people looking into this to try and get the meat on the bones, to see how far it actually is. The source was adament that it was far more advanced than just interested, Battersby, Currie and Khan have all at some stage over the last 6 months met with Venkys. I spoke with the club late last night (Ewood) and they was as confused as ever, with no-one having a real clue whats going on I have asked one or two people to look into things, I spoke with Kamy last night and his sources in India said NO bid had been lodged, however others on the case not too sure as some other stuff is potentially cooking. Things to note £50 Million gonna be needed, and where did the £17 Million come from which Venkys just paid Barclays, and was it them (Venkys)who paid it? On the Manager front the offer was in writing, but to protect the source and the person in question who I know, I will have to keep quiet for now I am told that the trio are unavailable to chat due to some FSA restraints, regarding the takeover, what these are? god knows as I was always under the impression they are they just regulate finances.
purplegrover Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I hope your suspicions are right Glen I really do. Please please let something be happening !! I'm dreading the announcement I'm expecting tomorrow...that Venkys will "continue to give the utmost support to our beloved footiball club and we have decided to appoint a new manager for the challenge ahead, Mr Eric Black. We thank Mr Kean for his excellent loyalty and service, and wish him well as Blackburn's new CEO, Director of Football and Grand Wizard Supreme Puppetmaster of Ewood."
PAFELL Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Must be thick as i am not following your answers. And What are pafell , kamy100 and philipl saying on the subject? Don't look at me for answers, I have never claimed to be itk. I hear things, I ask certain people questions etc etc, I search things and discern things for myself. Then hope what I have heard and searched is right. But I am not itk. One thing I can say is both are easily searchable on the internet - both are rovers supporters. IIyas Kahn has been involved in football before (accrington) But at the moment, I believe these 3 are the best option for the club - also incidently venkys, it is the best option for them, at the moment. (though we do not give a dam about them.) Unless something else comes along.
bob fleming Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 On the Manager front the offer was in writing, but to protect the source and the person in question who I know, I will have to keep quiet for now well I don't know who your source is Glen, nor do I want to know. However if what you say above is true then it must surely be on and imminent? You can't put a job offer out there in writing without there being a job vacancy or some sort of jurisdiction over the club. I like this, like it a lot. Fingers crossed. I was away at the weekend but since I got back I keep hearing "wait for Wednesday". Could be an interesting couple of days then.
neophox Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Could it be quiet from Kean beacuse Venky's told him they are selling Rovers meaning Kean is worrying about his future....hmmm...suspicious but surely we will find out more today.....happy times I hope!

Stuart Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 One thing that has been consistent throughout Venkys reign (of horror) is that any bad news that has 'leaked' out has nearly always been proved correct. It's a typical management technique: allow bad news our through the rumour channels, becomes an open secret and when it happens no-one's surprised. Conditioning. In my view, Venkys treat us like employees not customers, hence they show us little respect. I'm not expecting good news.
philipl Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Sadly, I think all current rumours of an imminent sale are running a long way ahead of themselves.
47er Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 its encouraging but we've been let down so often I can't (dare not) invest any emotional energy in it until, and if, it becomes more certain.
PAFELL Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Sadly, I think all current rumours of an imminent sale are running a long way ahead of themselves. This sounds more plausible at the moment!!!!
Roversider Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 If there is some genuine activity from the Ian's then they will need to be mindful of all the aspects of governance around communications. That is due to the risk of impacting on share valuations etc. It would be very good if they can progress this and whilst I am an enthusiastic supporter of the BRSIT endeavour I have always felt that it would benefit from being part of a shared ownership. It would be good to get the two groups working together but I suspect we can't do anything until there is real movement forward. Apart from the benefit of some extra funds some portion of fan ownership is the only way we will be able to moderate any decisions about Rovers based purely on financial benefit. Whatever happens, let's all be patient and remember that words spoken in haste can make life difficult unnecessarily. We need to unite all who love the Blue and Whites and suppress any personal issues. I am convinced that Wayne Wild has started BRSIT for the most admirable of reasons and other fans need to share the burden.
OJRovers Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I see the problem being that Venkys won't want any 'fans' group eg the two Ian's looking through the books for the last 18 months. Are they really going to want the details of agents fees, Board minutes, Kean's weekly budgets, contract details etc in the hands of people who could leak it to the public? I think they'd prefer to sell to a faceless buyer from Asia/Middle East who wouldn't care about their dealings with certain sports agencies.

I would be shocked if undertaking due dilligence didn't involve signing an indfinate gagging order over anything you find.
