JAL Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Seeing that football in this country is run by agents and the recent outburst of Rio Ferdinands agent in his player being over looked for the England squad. The question is saying these that agents have become so important in British football should their names also be attached in brackets of course to a player and his stats surely its only right to do so, in order that the gullible British football fan gets a full understanding of whats going on in todays game.

Baz Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Time I would say for full disclosure of transfer fees and related agent fees too. Also any agent fees paid to retain existing players.
JAL Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Time I would say for full disclosure of transfer fees and related agent fees too. Also any agent fees paid to retain existing players. Wouldnt it be fit and proper now, for all registered professional football club to be ordered, to register a players sale fee, plus, more importantly his agents fee, to give the British football fan full transparency of the product in which they support. Is this one key improvement that we all need to happen now from the governing bodies of football. Must add that a players wage should remain private and confidential unless he pays out a fee to an agent which must be made known.
rhodie Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Full transparency should mean the players income as well, when Joe public is fully informed of the extent of greed that`s going on in the game then steps will be taken to bring it back under control. lets face it agents are paid on a commission basis ,so its in their interests to drive wages up.What they should actually do for the "bigger" clubs is let them field 15 players and have done with exorbitant wages, the advantage they have on us smaller clubs is virtually the same anyway.
Stuart Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 The problem is fans only care when things are going badly for their club. It's possible there could be a groundswell of opinion in favour of it right now - perhaps it needs the likes of Pompey, Leeds, even Luton fans to unite and create a snowball effect?
