If everyone continues to turn the screw and apply the pressure then the club changing ownership will be nailed on

That is what all Rovers fans want. We need new owners who will take us back to PL and run the club in the best possible way will a Chairman running the club.

Anything more we the fans can do???

I don't think Agnew should get comfortable in his new job. I think venkys are off. I think kean asking for £15m has pushed them to far.

I have got to the stage where I don't care what division rovers play in. Just as long as venkys, kean. & Agnew are out of the club.

We can't be far now from a situation where the Football League starts making noises about having a suitable management and administration structure in place to support effective participation in the League.

Think about it: Now, without anyone in place to manage the relationship with the FA, to manage and administer players' contracts, to ensure correct registration of players and their ownership interests with the appropriate authorities or to provide satisfactory evidence of the ability of the club to manage its affairs, there would appear to be a real danger that the club could be suspended. After all, many a club has been refused entry to the Football League due to unsatisfactory facilities (normally a ground, but I would argue that the background infrastructure is just as important as the physical stuff). As it stands there is only the Finance Director, a General Manager (who has no experience of anything at that level within the game, and precious little relevant experience anywhere else), a team manager universally reviled and ridiculed in all respects and then a shadowy layer of agents and advisors.

In effect, the emperor is parading without any clothes, and in the cutthroat multi-million pound world of football, it can only be a matter of time before someone starts shouting that they can see our nads and that 'this can't possibly be allowed' sort of moral high ground thing.

I mean, there ARE standards, and rules and such like, for how a football club is run.... aren't there?

,,.. :rover:

Perhaps a 12 month suspension from the football league would be in the club's best interests as it would cost Venky's ££££££s and force a sale. It would also send a powerful message that good governance matters!

Chaddy, take a hard look at that but in bold. Turn off your computer, go for a long walk, come back and read it again.

It will be decades before we can hope to get back up to the top flight. The damage Venkys and Kean have done to this club is irreparable.

The kind of money it would take to rebuild from this point just isn't around. We are not an investment for anyone business-minded, there simply aren't the returns. The only investment is an emotional one and there aren't any local-boy-done-good billionaires out there either.

What happened with Jack was a freak, a one-off, literally once in a lifetime stuff. His legacy and the infrastructure he helped to create kept us afloat but the imbeciles who were allowed to takeover have taken us back 30 years, possibly more.

The club's supporters have been driven away so we've even lost any potential 12th man we might have had.

We are now into the realms, once Venkys and Kean have departed (possibly already), of trying to keep the club solvent on a yearly basis. Don't be under any illusions that we simply need a change of manager/owners and everything will be 2001 again. It won't, and it will get worse before it gets better.

New owners will appoint a proper manager who will be able to get us back within 2 seasons if they were to takeover this season.

Glen, I've often posted my admiration and gratitude for what you and your group are doing but please don't get our hopes up if it's not going to happen. If your confidence matches the situation, I'm ecstatic but if, in the end, we don't get the result we need I'll be reaching for a rusty razor blade.

you have your view and I have my view!!!

What's your view based on chaddy? Cos it's not history, experience or common sense.

How much do you think it will cost to replace the players we will need to, in order to compete with the top half Championship teams? Who is going to take over that can afford their transfer fees or wages?

agreed. chaddy is in for a rude awakening.

If the v´s decide to sell, i take it as the most natural thing in the world, that prior to selling club, they are going to sell a couple of players and keep the money themselves.

our squad/club will not only be lacking quality, but also depth and a lot of ££££££.

You bring in an experience manager like McCarthy or Curbishley who has experience of getting promotion and off signing the right players to gain Promotion.

We need that certain players will leave like Martin Olsson, Scott Dann, Steven Nzonzi, Formica and Yak will leave. That will bring in roughly 20 million pounds.

Then the new manager will be allow to reinvest the money in signing players he wants! of course the manager has to sign the right players but that is what the manager gets paid for.

Don't forget our wage bill isn't massive. Players like Robinson and Givet have seen their wages cut by 40 to 50% due to wage relegaton drop in their contracts. Any new contracts done before venkys took over will have these clauses in. Don't forget players on high wages like Salagdo(50k), Samba(60k), Nelsen(40k) have left the club now.

Simples.

Just one flaw in your plan Chaddy - well more than one but for starters. There are 23 other teams in the Championship with the same idea - and most of them have more money than us.

I don't agree with the £20m figure but even that will be a drop in the ocean. £20m to get us promoted, sounds as ludicrous as £5m per window to reach the Champions League.

Alot of Championship clubs are looking for loans, cheap deals and free transfers.

How much of the money get spend is down who the managers wants to sign players.

Next season's a write-off for sure.

We won't get new owners in in time.

I'd say relegation next season is a certainty.

It's heart-breaking how the club's being taken to the cleaners with certain protagonists benefitting from it, and the mad witch of Olde Pune towne continues to fiddle while Rome burns.

I'd like a glass bottle, break the neck of it, whooops, better not finish that one.

It CAN be done, look at Blackpool and Burnley.

Right manager, a decent enough set of players, getting momentum at the right time of the season.

But that is our only hope, a flukey season out of nowhere (with new owners obviously) because with our drastically reduced fanbase and wage ceiling, we are unlikely to ever be a 'big' Championshio club- and of course as long as the current regime is in situ, we are far more likely to be in League 1.

I remember people saying something similar after the relegation of 1965-66 and we took a quarter of a century to return to the top flight. Leicester put a small fortune into trying to win promotion last season and didn't even make the play-offs. Money alone is not enough. You need money, a good manager, the right players and an awful lot of luck. At the moment we haven't got any money, we certainly haven't got a good manager, the right players we have at present are more than likely to leave and after what's happened over the past 18 months, Lady Luck has certainly opted to look for pastures new.
