47er Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 But why can't you look at the positives? Is there some other motive behind your comment? Let's all take a step back and look at the things we can get excited about. 1) We've got season tickets at unbeatable value and Dunny will deliver 'em! 2) We've got Shebby Singh and the Brazilian 'fixer' - other clubs in the Championship are reportedly 'green with envy' over our advantages in unlocking the Asian and South American markets. 3) We've got a young manager who's got results at places like Old Trafford, Anfield and Molineux. 4) We've got links with agents who can give us a boost in the transfer market. 6) We'll have one of the youngest sides in the Championship. There's no reason we can't get off to a flyer and finish in the top ten, at least. You forgot to add that we got into the penalty area just as many times as Villa.

bob fleming Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2161773/Blackburn-turmoil-continues-secretary-sacking.html Blimey. How The Mail has turned. "divisive" now is he? His end must surely be nigh. Fickle two faced wainkers.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Bloch, appointed as secretary at Ewood Park 12 months ago, is believed to have voiced misgivings about manager Steve Kean’s failure to keep Blackburn in the Barclays Premier League last season. Need we say anymore?....who next on 'BIG BOSS' Teflons hit list
bob fleming Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Need we say anymore?....who next on 'BIG BOSS' Teflons hit list S Hunt and K Silk. Nailed on. Who's left after that? Not many... Yet we wait for the authorities to act. Still. It was bleeding obvious even before the Action Group met with them, still the powers that be hold their silence even after being told face to face how wrong it all is. You just have to hope that there's a lot going on behind the scenes, moves to sell. The truth may never come out. However if this all goes on into next season without a change of owner, a change of manager or any action taken by the authorities then it's an absolute scandal. We'll have been hung out to dry and left to rot.

Owners and Manager walking around with bodyguards...errrr WTF! We're Rotten to the core,a wrecked club.

We're Rotten to the core,a wrecked club. I've just read Philips post in the Relegation Analysis thread. That's just very very sad. To me, now, it suggests they just don't care. They do run the club? but are just utterly clueless? Incredible. I recall someone saying once that Desai runs 72 (ish) businesses. 72. Seventy Two. And that Desai appoints a manager who reports directly to her. And that's it. There's no time for any indepth analysis (and thanks to Jones and Samba the investment is accounted for). Up until 3 months ago I was an IT account manager. I used to have sixty plus accounts under my name, built up over a few years. I concentrated on maybe, twelve? That's where the money was, but I didn't want to let go of the others, you know, just in case. Then twelve months before then we were told to pick our top twenty and lose the rest. Guess what happened? I started making more money, and doing a better job, i hasten to add, from / for those twenty and the rest went elsewhere within the company to other account managers. Its a basic business principle. I digress, fact is if you have seventy two you'll spend, on average, 1 day of focus every 3 months on them. Whereas we worry about BRFC on here every sodding day I guess Desai doesn't even think about us. Her dumb and dumber brothers have lost her confidence. She isn't listening to anyone other than Stevie Baby. She hasn't the time, nor the passion. Either it's that, or it's all bent. Take your pick. Either way.....
Miker Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 So we have all these directors being sacked for privately speaking out against Kean, yet we then have someone appointed who has been publically slagging him off as the director of football. Considering recent information uncovered suggests Kean had absolutely zero control or influence over transfers, and media comments from Salgado and Andrews suggest that he probably didn't even have control of team selection. How much influence does he really have then on the owners or the club? It seems to me that he's been able to get away with shifting blame onto others.
Veevs Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2161773/Blackburn-turmoil-continues-secretary-sacking.html Strange article and factually utterly wrong.. Silvester left his post over a year ago at liverpool not last month.. "Though Venky’s wasted no time installing a successor in Silvester, who left his post as Liverpool secretary by mutual consent last month, the latest unrest will do little to pacify supporters who protested throughout last season at the way their club was being run." hell in Jan the mail talked in glowing terms about him being missed by Liverpool..

Kean can have whatever staff he wants in the rest of the company.. but has no power over new players... yet can dump any player who disagrees with him or does not fit in with his 'plans'... Does not make sense from any angle.. Ian Silvester is frankly beyond anything we could have imagined in that role.. but why the hell has he taken the job and how the hell did we find him... there has to be a catch somewhere and my thinking is the company he currently works for being a football consultancy may suddenly be involved in Rovers. He just does not make sense in terms of Venkys, his biggest weakness is letting things slip (at liverpool he gave timescales on takeovers and let slip about banks calling in debts), he is well regarded but currently employed. A little bit of me is hoping that he has been brought in to find loopholes to allow a certain person to leave with minimal fuss but that is probably me clutching at straws.
Rover Down Under Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Christ, when did things get so negative around here? The 19th day of November, 2010. Shouldn't have to tell you that.

rhodie Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Well all the previous Gaffers that diagnosed Kean as being a major problem got sacked,so it`ll be interesting to see what happens when this new lot has a good look around.
booth Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 ....And there was me thinking Mrs D had played another blinder and employed Sylvester the cat to run Secretarial duties! Just wait till she finds out she hasn't employed a talking cat.
joey_big_nose Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 The betting must be pretty solid that he is a mate of Kean/Agnew/Anderson. Probably Anderson as he is the guy with the long standing connections.... Good pedigree, but i am wondering who has brought him in.

Sparky Marky Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Another set of agents running the club instead of anderson et al. We're like a cheap whore being passed around for the pleasure of few.
Baz Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 So a quick google search shows Ian silvester appointed a company called Football factors before leaving Liverpool, who specialise in disciplinary hearings (interestingly they chose not to use them for Suarez though, despite being on a retainer by the club). The guy who owns football factors is called Graham Bean, who is also a consultant at a company called onside fc. Ian Silvester was also a consultant at Onside fc (jobs for the boys one wonders). On his linked in profile Graham Bean gives an overview of onside fc's business as: Football Consultant Onside FC March 2012 – Present (4 months) Barnsley Now advising ONSIDE FC in the capacity of football consultant. Onside works within the "player Identification searching" on behalf of clubs and also in the development of player development funds to allow clubs to access both finance and players. Please contact to ascertain how we can help your club in its search for players and funding - and cutting the agents out! Onside fcs website is currently down for maintenance, however you can get a little flavour using This link . I personally like option 4 "manager search" Coincidence?
Veevs Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Onside FC are clever chaps.. bypass the agents by offering a flat fee search and secure service, the problem is that while it works in some countries in the UK it is flawed due to the hold agents and their clients have on business. For me they need to shake up the rules and make it so agents can not represent managers, clubs(for sales or purchases), players, staff, pundits etc but limit them to one area just as a start never mind the rest of the things they get up to. Take the scenario of player x, his dad is an agent in a company that represents both client (player) and buyer (the club) but not the selling club. Or in club terms a club is represented by an agency but the buyer is also represented by the same agency.. who gets the fair deal in each of those circumstances. Remember it is the case of multiple agents and sometimes the same ones.. One represents the player, one for the club selling and often one for the club buying. Personally I would remove the ability for agents to be hired by clubs to sell or buy and limit them to being player agents.. as it stands people like Zhavi got hired to sell Kalinic at a certain price.. he got the price but what favours did he call in and what do we owe him... remember he later got us the Yak so what position of power does he now hold and how much did he get for both deals... lets not forget he also got the relegation release clause inserted at a mere 1.5m.
Kettledrum Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Ian Silvester is frankly beyond anything we could have imagined in that role.. but why the hell has he taken the job and how the hell did we find him... there has to be a catch somewhere and my thinking is the company he currently works for being a football consultancy may suddenly be involved in Rovers. A little bit of me is hoping that he has been brought in to find loopholes to allow a certain person to leave with minimal fuss but that is probably me clutching at straws. My guess is that the club had to appoint a new club secretary very quickly to satisfy the football league, and it had to be someone credible, willing to come and available. Ian was out of work and fitted the bill.
